  1. How are they catering to a budget crowd when they’re putting their prices up? And they seem to be filling their ships up just fine.
  2. On oasis in November they were coming round the boardwalk handing out free popcorn and candy floss one afternoon. Didn’t notice any popcorn for sale outside the theatres (but wasn’t looking for it).
  3. Mario was on board for our cruise in November, and I believe I heard he would be on for 6 months, so he should have still been onboard for your cruise. He did the trivia on our cruise too. We saw him in his “office” - by the pool in a roped off area with a sign saying “super Mario’s office” 😂
  4. Can you not just accept your experience was yours and mine may have been different? Unless you were on my sailing you really have no idea. I not exaggerating, I’m reporting what I saw. And others on here (and other forums) have also said their experience was like mine. Some have had the same experience as you. Doesn’t make either of us right or wrong.
  5. I have neither thank you, but thanks for the rude assumptions! I was actually very surprised by the number dressed up after reading everyone on here say no one dresses up anymore. I then wished I had taken dressier clothes as so many were dressed up to the nines. Granted not many in tuxes, but lots of suits, full length dresses etc. Maybe those dressed down went to the windjammer, but MDR was almost all dressed up and even in the communal areas after e.g royal promenade the majority were in smart clothes. maybe you’re the one with the eyesight and maths problems!
  6. YMMV. I can only report on what I saw in our cruise 🤷🏼‍♀️
  7. On our recent oasis cruise there was a major difference in how people dressed in the two formal nights. Around 90% of people had dressed up for those two nights and it was significantly dressier than the other nights.
  8. Went on MSC Opera in 2016, so haven’t tried the new megaships. I’m also from the U.K. and we had status matched to black I think. I was very disappointed by the food, often cold in the MDR. Also they only offered a very early or very late seating, and being Italian, there were a lot of courses so dinner was long. Had heard the pizza was great, but I honestly didn’t think it was any better than Sorrentos! Entertainment was ok, but as mentioned above, due to catering for so many languages, it is very visual and standard Cabaret style. service was very laid back and European. No sense of urgency to anything! Also brace yourself for a lot of VERY loud Italians 😂 our opinion at the time was we would only sail them again if they were the only line offering the itinerary we wanted (as was the case with our 2016 Cuba cruise). However I am tempted to give them another go on the new big ships.
  9. When you check in you can pick the time you want, so just pick one of the later check in times (after 1pm probably) if you want to get straight in the room.
  10. For those saying book shows onboard - I’m assuming you haven’t sailed since they brought back pre-booking this month? If there is a show you really want to see, especially Aqua 80 or the comedy show, I strongly recommend reserving online as soon as they become available. It’s possible Le you could still get in from the standby line, but do you really want to waste hours of your holiday stood in a standby line if you don’t have to?
  11. I’ve never been lucky enough to sail in a suite so wasn’t sure!
  12. 1. Safe was fine for us, and big enough for what you need 2. Cococay has towels on the island, although not many towel stations 4. Our fridge was more of a cooler, if something is warm it won’t get it really cold 5. in a non suite, the fridges are empty 6. 30-60 days out you will be able to see and book shows online - I would recommend doing this 7. They sell out fast. They do have a line for those without reservations, if you do that get there early. You are not reserving a specific seat. Blocks of seats are reserved for suites/ key holders etc, otherwise it’s first come first served for choice.
  13. We had the opposite experience with 150, loved the scallops and the Caesar salad was the best we had all week! It was really bland in MDR and Chops.
  14. It depends on the overall cost of the cruise for me, regardless of the split between fare and gratuities. I don’t care how it’s broken down, I just care about the total cost.
  15. I don’t believe so, as T&Cs state one reward per reservation, not per person
  16. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a European doing the lower paid jobs that e.g an Indian does in a ship, such as staterooom attendant, waiter or bartender. Europeans tend to be in roles such as casino host, retail shops or entertainment, which I would think pay more.
  17. My other half swears by B&B for a cold, try a shot of that every day before you sail 😉
  18. Sorry no, we didn’t book it so I didn’t pay too much attention
  19. Either an airboat tour or bus tour of Miami with airport drop off, they also offered with MIA or FLL drop offs
  20. We had MTD in November and it was fine. We had reservations for either 7 or 7.30, and the most we had to wait to be seated was 10mins on lobster night, which I think was because the restaurant was busier that night than usual.
  21. We are sailing in December 2023 and were able to book dining a few weeks ago in the app
  22. Wow! Not as good as the prices advertised that couldn’t be booked 😞
  23. They were offered in our cruise in mid November, don’t think they appeared for booking until a bit later than the rest
