  1. Our experience is as Ashland said, wait til cabins are open. It will clear out pretty well and you'll be able to get a seta easily. We try to book a specialty on boarding day, but there isn't always one open.
  2. We have a friend who was a CBP agent at Dulles. Occasionally he would post what they had intercepted. They found some weird stuff being brought in from other countries in checked luggage. Some by foreign visitors and some by naturalized citizens and green card holders. Not just drugs, but endangered species parts and live animals (think like small turtles, snakes, etc).
  3. That was exactly our experience in Quebec. All our US b2b's we've had to get off and back on with varying waits. One no wait at all, the others have varying wait times. Customs can come onboard but that is the rarity.
  4. It's also against US Federal Law which is what the cruise line follows. You better believed I'd "snitch". I have no tolerance for those that infringe on others by breaking rules/laws.
  5. That's not what that poster said. Reread it. They said you have to stay in public areas onboard when you reboard and that there are no services until 1030-11. But, the exception to that is if you're in the same cabin, you can go to your cabin anytime. And, our experience is the coffee locations are open right away (Starbucks, Cafe Lattetude). We got coffee on Jewel at 930 after we checked back in. No leaving the ship as we were in Quebec and there is no US customs to go through. Some experiences vary such as walking off the ship, waiting a bit in the terminal (we've had to a couple of times for 30 min mainly due to a couple of missing passengers who weren't b2b but were in no hurry to get off).
  6. Ours have usually changed our sheets the night before so they don't have to do it morning of. Since we're in JS, we get twice a day service and don't leave dirty towels in the am for them to change out. So, other than making our bed, they don't really have anything to do in our cabin. When we are free to go after we have checked out and back in we normally return our passports to our cabin and go get a cup of Starbucks coffee and hang out in a public space/lounge until the b2b lunch.
  7. You did say " our check in has usually been done the day before at the consecutive cruisers meeting. "
  8. Our experience on every b2b cruise we've done is on turnaround day, b2bers meet in the morning and walk off as a group using old cards to get off and then go past customs and get back on with our new cards. We've never done anything the day before and we've done 4 or 5 b2b's. The only difference on our last one on Jewel was since we had turnaround day in Quebec, we didn't have to get off the ship. They did the check out/check in onboard and we were free to go around 915. Usually it's at least 1030. We've never met up the day before. We get a letter a couple of days beforehand with instructions on what to do on turnaround day. We definitely have access to our cabin all day on turnaround day.
  9. Never said any question about the vaccine. Questions reminder popped up every time and we answered. It's more about are you "sick" or pregnant. Point is, still, that even if you don't answer before your cruise, they can ask when you check in. I'm not sure why some are so concerned about our experiences. The point as I have said SEVERAL times is they will take care of it at port check in as needed.
  10. DH requested it ahead of time using the special needs link. Cord and distilled water were in our cabin when we boarded Jewel last month. Second leg of our b2b, we asked our steward and she made sure we had the water. They are more than prepared for CPAPs.
  11. Remember when you had to fill out the paper version? That was a PITA. You go through security and then have to fill out a piece of paper lol.
  12. What does MSC have to do with Royal?
  13. We're on Wonder on Jan 14th and ours haven't opened yet. I literally just checked the website about 30 minutes ago. There's a lot of inconsistency as usual.
  14. We just got off Jewel and they confirmed that nothing had changed when we checked in. If you don't answer them, they will ask you. Regardless, OP doesn't need to worry about answering before arriving at the port.
  15. Because they saw you had already answered the questions. Our experience on 10 cruises since restart they ask if anything has changed. Do you feel left out?
  16. They always review/confirm the answers. In our 10 cruises since restart they have. Even on the second leg of our b2b. Why do you say that?
  17. They will just ask you when you check in so don't worry about it. One time I answered for DH but didn't for myself and they just asked me when we checked it. No biggie.
  18. There are people on here who have gladly reported allowing their kids to roam the ship. I wouldn't have either. In fact, when we went on vacation with our kids, it was our family vacation and time we spent together.
  19. One or two college students fall from balconies/windows every year and they're pretty much always drunk. Toddlers fall out of windows and people intentionally jump from balconies and parking garages, etc. Cruises are an enigma to some people and the media has encouraged that by blowing things out of proportion. My 86 year old mother still tells us to be careful every time we go on a cruise. She doesn't tell us that when we go to the beach for the weekend. I've explained to her over and over again that the railings are too high to just fall over and that norovirus isn't running rampant onboard. In fact, the worst thing I've ever had on a cruise was a sinus infection one time and a simple cold a couple of other times. Yes, I feel for the family but I hope they don't go after Royal for something their teenager chose to do.
  20. Remember when the grandfather dropped the little girl and some people were so sympathetic to him until the facts came out? There's still a few strange people who feel sorry for him even though the facts (and video) show him knowing exactly what he denied knowing. Well, there's always more to the story. Regardless, the ship is in no way responsible for people doing stupid things but as we've all seen, the warning labels on products have gotten ridiculous. Like the meme I've seen stating that so many years ago a new car manual gave you instructions on how to change the oil and tune up your engine and today they tell you not to drink the coolant.
  21. But, not against Royal and not sure who'd you go after except maybe Tik Tok (good luck with that). Even if it was a challenge, parents need to instill in their children that some things are just outright stupid and dangerous, you know like running out into the street without looking. At 16, most teens know that climbing on the outside of a balcony is very dangerous. Yes, some kids survive stupid things, but that doesn't make it okay or even super common. For example, eating detergent pods was a challenge at one point, but most teens knew it was stupid. 16 is a bit old to fall for these stunts also. The stupid boys stunts I knew when growing up were done by more like 12 year olds.
  22. That is surprising based on those that post on here that they remove them. We always give a little more to those that do more for us or give great service. We had the best steward on our b2b on Jewel last month so we tipped her extra on each leg. She is probably the best we've ever had and we noted it and mentioned her in our survey.
  23. That is so not true about frequent flyer miles. DH and I just flew roundtrip from IAD to DFW and back to IAD in first class. One ticket was on miles. Plane was packed and first class was full both directions. Flying on miles does not make you vulnerable to being booted off.
