  1. Traditionally it was WDW that was hit hard by fall break. Cruises started getting impacted also. I don't think it's the same as it used to be with schools being so much more flexible than pre-covid. It was always called "Jersey Week" because of the influx from the NE.
  2. Ah, yes, when basically the whole state of NJ goes to FL in early Nov.
  3. There never was a Diamond Plus lounge. There is however a Diamond lounge for D and above. The 5 free drinks for D+ can be used anywhere onboard Jewel.
  4. We bought 100 shares strictly for the OBC. Our CFP is fine with it as we are getting that return on every cruise. We currently have 11 cruises booked and have RCL stock OBC for every one of them. It's not a stock we would buy for our portfolio otherwise. It's just a stock we bought for one purpose and we pretty much ignore it otherwise. We have other stocks in our IRA's that we bought for their growth and those are the ones we pay more attention to. I think most RCI stockholders have it for the same reason we do.
  5. By "research" I meant actually doing comparison of deck plans and amenities of ships. Most just go for the closest port or cheapest price and don't bother to see that the ship is smaller or cheaper. Your posts exhaust me with your lack of commitment.
  6. Nope. On GR over spring break a couple of times we've sailed with 700 kids. We've had as few as 10 on a 12 night several years ago, but even 12 night cruises out of Baltimore now have a lot more kids than they used to. Which means a lot of bored kids as there just isn't as much to do for them and the kids program isn't big enough to handle them. We had a mother a few years ago bring her kids into the Solarium on GR because it started raining out at the main pool. She got into an argument with the staff because she said and I quote "My kids HAVE to swim". Really? They "have" to? She was yelling at the staff and a few others. We sat and watched. I've heard parents complain there isn't much for kids to do on Vision class. Well, if they had done any research at all, they'd know that.
  7. Bartenders (which was the question) will not. They will hand you whatever drink you order whether it's soda or alcohol and you can pour it yourself into your container.
  8. Having them load a cart and walk you to your car is your choice and they deserve a good tip as they're hauling it and loading it. Arriving and them just putting it on the cart isn't really a choice for anyone with larger bags that can't be carried on (we never do) is part of the arrival process. We always take our own bags out of the terminal after a cruise. I remember when suitcases didn't have wheels.
  9. There is no "going rate". We usually do $1/bag, but I've seen posts by people who state they give more. You actually don't have to tip anything and don't believe those posts that say their bags went missing because they didn't tip. All the longshoremen do is load them on carts that get taken through scanning and then loaded by forklift onto the ship. After that, it's ship's crew that delivers them.
  10. No. You have to fill it from what they give you.
  11. Doesn't affect the vast majority of cruisers. In the grand scheme of things, it's not a high number at all. BTW, 50+? Someone else posted 11.
  12. There are very few cruises that are 15 days or longer, even a lot of TA's/TP's aren't more than 14. B2B's don't figure into this as they are separate cruises unless 15 days or longer each.
  13. That's what happened when we were on Jewel last year. We were the first cruise after the TA. The sausage was the larger size. The hot dogs also weren't American hot dogs, they were some kind of English sausage. I don't eat them but my DH wasn't thrilled. There were a few other things that weren't what we've had on cruises out of the US. Such as, the only C&A amenity water was canned mineral water which we hate and some European canned soda which has some artificial sweeteners to limit the sugar in it which we avoid. My DH also requested syrup at breakfast and they brought him some weird tasting brown "syrup". Maple syrup appeared a couple of days later. We were on a b2b and a few things changed back to what we're used to on the second leg.
  14. We were on deck 10 under the WJ last fall and had zero noise issues. We're on deck 10 again in 10 days under the pool deck. We also always stay under the pool deck on Vision class which we have found noisier. But, we do not do aft cabins. Mainly because during rough seas, the aft motion really gets to me.
  15. The type of sausage is entirely dependent on the supplier and what's available to them. We've seen several different types since restart.
  16. That charge was dropped at the beginning of 2023. As far as phone type, it doesn't matter as you message through the RCI app. We have Google Pixels. We used it in April with friends. You just have to add them and they have to agree in order to message someone.
  17. Are you referring to Radio? He still posts.
  18. Yes. Very easy. You can meet them at the terminal. If they can't pull into the drop off area, you can meet them outside. Just like people meet Uber's.
  19. That is the same wording that has been used since our first time there 13 years ago
  20. I'm saying AT MOST there are 50 between the two and usually a lot less. I've seen both lots completely full several times. Does that help? What I want to do is hear from any NCL cruiser who has been on the last few weeks and drove and parked at Baltimore.
  21. Having sailed from Baltimore at least a dozen times, I can tell you that it can only handle one ship at a time. As for parking, one lot is used by Carnival and one lot is used by Royal and both are always full. There is no way they have enough room for cars from other ships in those lots. They have to have some other set up for any other cruise that originates there. On any one day, there might be 50 empty spots between the two lots so they can't handle another ship's worth.
  22. And, the temp was the main issue. She had severe burns and required burn treatment such as grafts. Most people have no clue about all of it as the media made it about her "negligence". The coffee was way too hot regardless of what else occurred.
  23. Yes, and Judith has also passed away also. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/678-trainman-2-and-judith/
