  1. Where did you see that? The port schedule only goes out to the end of Jan.
  2. For the cruise compass, even though they want people to use the app, our steward in April delivered one every night to our cabin. We were in a JS so we get twice a day service. I'm pretty sure, the stewards know that most people want a paper copy so while policy isn't to deliver them, they still do a lot of the time. I'm one of those people that still carry one around all day, especially when ashore as it has the contact info for the port.
  3. As I said, I'm just the messenger for the thread currently on FB. I do like the app for the passport info as it populates everything automatically so no having to recheck what I typed in.
  4. Well, you obviously haven't read previous threads about the app on here. They all have posters who comment that and state there are lots of older people without smart phones. I actually met someone last week in our community who has a flip phone and has no access to apps, so they do exist.
  5. All, I'm just the messenger here, but the report is for TODAY, not yesterday, not Thursday, but today. Join the FB I mentioned and read the comments by people who did today.
  6. Yes, Vision was cancelled because they returned two days late due to the storm so not enough time to do Bermuda in 3 days.
  7. I'm not sure where the term ethics even comes into this discussion. The contract you agree to for your cruise clearly states that they can change ports. That means they are ethical because they let you know beforehand that it can (and does) happen. We've missed ports that have been both changed before and onboard. We just go with the flow as we booked a cruise, not a destination. Heck, on Carnival, we even had a ship changed one time.
  8. BTW, the post is on the Royal Caribbean Information FB group.
  9. I didn't post this. Someone else did. As I said above, some said they were able to check in online and at least one other said it just looped back. We're cruising in three weeks and in 3 months so I don't have a check in to do right now. I did ask if anyone had seen this in my original post. Just looking for anyone else's experience since no one else had posted this on here today.
  10. This does not look like a glitch. It's a screen grab that someone posted who was checking in today. It also looks like as usual there is some disparity based on comments on the FB page this was on. Some were able to still check in online if they scrolled down, but someone else said it just looped them back. But, I do see this as the future either way.
  11. It's being reported on another site by several people that anyone checking in for a cruise now has to use the app and can no longer do it on the website. Doesn't bother me but someone without a smart phone won't be happy. Anyone checking in today and finding this?
  12. I have a feeling this is permanent. Too much waste with people doing it themselves. Cones pulled but not used and ice cream stacked so high it fell over and people had to start again.
  13. Just because this debarkation was slow does not mean ours will be. We've gone out of CL multiple times (EX, Anthem and XSummit) over the last 10+ years and have never had the issues this cruise had.
  14. They kicked D+ out of the CL so who knows, but my point was it is being called the Crown Lounge, it's not an "if".
  15. CL only applies to a few ships now. We used to enjoy it on GR mainly due to it's location/view. I'm kind of surprised since they kicked us D+ out that they haven't renamed all of them SL's. What do you mean "if" they go with Crown Lounge. It's been announced. Marc Walker (CD) announced it earlier today.
  16. You waited to book til she was 16? That's the most interesting reason I've ever heard to book. Waiting til 21 or a specific itinerary I get completely, but waiting til she can go in the Solarium? Rule changes have affected a lot of people. The change in how points are calculated and the addition of Emerald cost us making D by one cruise. Oh well, such is life. We went on the booked cruise and made it one cruise later. We could have whined about it and said it wasn't fair, etc. But, guess what? We didn't. We just went with the flow and moved on.
  17. That's why we figure 930 is a good time as everyone should be off the ship and the majority of people are gone. A lot of people who drive also do walk off which does help.
  18. When we really want one, DH goes up by 7 am and I join him shortly after. That's usually on a day we have nothing else planned except to relax and read. We then grab breakfast in the WJ and bring it back to our seat. We'll do the same for lunch and usually leave by 2 or so. But, that's typically only a couple of days at most per cruise. Otherwise, if we go after 3, there's usually seats opening up. We need shade as DH had melanoma years ago and I burn very easily so that makes it even harder sometimes. I watched a woman one time who had two loungers reserved, one in the shade and one in the sun and she moved back and forth. She was alone all day. I wanted to go tell her to pick one as there were people walking around looking for a seat. On EN in April, we didn't go to the Solarium at all as the roof was never opened and it was unbearably warm in there all the time.
  19. On at least one ship, it's pirate themed at least for part of it. Jordan Bauthwho is a ice skater has posted videos of herself in parades.
  20. It's not the ship that uses facial recognition. It's the terminal/CBP. We used it in PC departing Jewel last Nov.
  21. Nope. Two completely different set ups. Porters taking incoming luggage are only doing that and will be nowhere near luggage that is leaving. Luggage brought off the ship is sitting in the terminal in a room that is only accessible by those departing. Passengers only mingle outside the terminal and those leaving already have their luggage at that point.
