  1. I'm not denying anything. I've booked independent excursions, too. My point is that whatever negative publicity this will generate, NCL will continue to fill their ships and as a possible side effect, people might be less likely to book the independent excursion if (in the back of their mind) people remember this story.
  2. ...and ships will continue to sail at over 100% capacity.... ...and more people will book NCL sponsored excursions instead of booking independent excursions.
  3. "Attach a scan or screen capture of your current external loyalty card. File formats accepted are doc, docx, and pdf. Maximum file size is 4MB. A unique email address is required and once the application has been confirmed, you will receive a message to the email address provided with an MSC Voyagers Club Card Number."
  4. Because of the angle, you'll only be seen from above when you're at the railing.
  5. EDIT Asking about B1s, not Haven. On Escape/Joy/Bliss/Encore, the size order is 9, 12, 15, 14, 11, 10, 13 from deepest to least deep.
  6. Follow the money....... The stranded people can squeeze more compensation out of NCL or from a fauxfundme page than they'll ever get from the tour operator.
  7. I've seen it happen in Mexico. I've heard people say it on a tender in Grand Cayman. I've seen it posted by people on the forum. Too many people want to shop after their excursion returns. In most cases, that's not a problem. If the ship's excursion returns a little bit late, that shopping plan might have to get cancelled.
  8. To be clear, once the ship-sponsored excursion returns, the guest doesn't get to wander around the port window shopping figuring "....they'll wait for me...I was on a ship's excursion...". That's why I put "to a point" because some guests think that the ship will wait indefinitely....it won't.
  9. "...eight guests who were on the island on their own or with a private tour missed the last tender back to the vessel,..." I've taken excursions that were booked through the cruise line. I've taken excursions that were not booked through the cruise line. I've been late returning to the ship while on a cruise line's excursion. I've never been late returning to the ship while on a "non cruise line's" excursion. If an over-priced cruise line's excursion comes with the assurance that the ship will wait (up to a point) if I am late, I'll pay the extra...especially since I can use OBC to pay.
  10. Some have a set dining time, some do not. It depends on what "experience" that you book.
  11. I don't know if you have seen the 3 part series but if you haven't....Click HERE
  12. I don't know where you were but it could have been the door to VIBE that was locked, not necessarily a Haven door. I don't really understand how it's uncomfortable but if it's not for you, it's not for you. Not everyone likes the same things.
  13. Do you feel the same about the Spa (new) and VIBE (expanded)? People who pay extra get uncrowded space. While sitting in the Haven lounge, you can only be seen by Haven guests.
  14. This thread reminds me that when I get home, I have to organize all of those blue MED bottles under my sink. 🫢
  15. Even on Cunard, some staterooms are larger than others. People who pay more get more. The Haven might be a bit more blatant but "everybody is equal" doesn't really exist on any line.
  16. We're still waiting for actual photos/video.
  17. What would you like to know? Balcony size? Bedroom/Master bathroom configuration? Noise?
  18. Terms for packages can be more stringent than just buying individually. The Starbucks package terms state 18 and older.
  19. You can probably blame the people who share drinks with those who do not have a package for that policy.
  20. How old will the teenager be? If he'll be under 18, the package won't be an option.
  21. My theory.... Joy's history of going from the Asian Market to the $50M refresh for the North American market had some side effects. First, it was the Concierge Suites (no Haven access) and the Haven Suites trying to co-exist. Then, some of the Concierge Suites were turned into Haven Suites which gave Joy 118 Haven suites and some leftover regular/non-Haven suites. At the time, 118 was the most Haven suites on any NCL ship even though Joy's Haven area was no bigger than Bliss' or Encore's. Those leftover suites suffer because so much manpower is dedicated to the Haven suites. NCL can't give those suites Haven access because Joy already has so many Haven suites and NCL can't make those suites into standard/regular staterooms because they are too nice. Joy's suites are caught in the middle.
  22. If you can imagine it..... Take the old Haven library and cut it in half from front to back. Give the port side half to 18100 and the starboard side half to 18700. In that new space, add a bedroom, a bathroom, and a dining room table as well as rearrange the living room and bedroom spaces.
  23. The staterooms are kind of like Legos. One side is wider to fit the bed. The stateroom next door will be wider where the neighbor was narrower and narrower where the neighbor was wider. The patter alternates to get as many staterooms as possible for a given space. There are breaks in the pattern for wheelchair accessible staterooms, crew stuff, structural/functional behind the wall things (plumbing, HVAC, all that good stuff) etc. so the pattern can restart at different points. Some staterooms can be the same configuration but back to back and the pattern will branch off from there. Throw in different stateroom categories and there are even more anomalies. It isn't always as simple as counting staterooms to guess the unknown configuration but without photos/videos to confirm, educated guesses are the best that we can do. The pull man bed being near the closet applies to the Breakaway/Breakaway Plus ships for standard side balcony/Club balcony staterooms so when those sleep 4, the bed is near the balcony. A similar "sleeps 3" won't have a pull man bed so there are some of those that also have the bed near the balcony but most will have the bed near the closet. Haven suites have different rules and configurations so ignore them when figuring out standard balcony and Club balcony configurations.
