  2. 1. You get priority boarding and tendering with suites and access to the priority line at guest services. You also get to pay more in gratuity despite them not doing anything at all extra. You can keep the adjoining room doors open all cruise if you wish and make your own suite. 2. Anything is possible. Heaven forbid a storm hits Grand Bahama and delays construction, your cruise is re-routed to Nassau instead, and you paid more for that cruise for nothing. It's also possible, and perhaps more likely, that you'll be one of the first to enjoy Carnival's newest proprietary port of call if you book that cruise. So it's really up to you. I was among the first at Amber Cove on Ecstasy back in the day.
  3. If loving bacon is wrong, I don't want to be right. 😜
  4. Just be warned that they often run out of individual flavors of drinks during a cruise...
  5. The way it was paid for is irrelevant. It's still a 7.5oz can of soda being sold at the same price as a 12oz can. You are acting like they just give those small cans away to anyone who asks for them. They're only free if you have a coupon for it.

    Bimini?

    You're not missing much.
  7. VIFP perks are for the individual that earned them and generally do not apply to traveling partners. The only one that covers the entire stateroom of the VIFP guest is priority boarding, tendering, and debarkation.
  8. tough to see the outside of the ship when you’re on it having fun and eating all the bacon you can stand every day 🥓
  9. During spring break on Carnival you'll have to worry more about the college crowd than the family crowd.
  10. Per the email I received before my last cruise on Carnival. Note that nowhere does it mention you can stay if your room key is in the slot or anything like that. It says drop off luggage and leave. Once on board, you will be able to drop off your bags in your stateroom, but we ask that you not linger in the hallways or your stateroom. Our team will still be working hard to get the ship ready for your sailing, so once you drop off your bags, please return to the public areas of the ship.
  11. Carnival has the right to refare the room if the person who received the offer doesn't sail but I haven't heard of that actually happening.
  12. You can drop off luggage but not stay in your room. The only place this is documented is in the email that platinums and diamonds receive a few days before embarkation. It is not on Carnival's website anymore. So I fully expect it to go away before too much longer.
  13. It's incredible how people will argue about poison like soft drinks.
  14. The seaday brunch drink was added to Platinum and Diamond back when seaday brunch was first instituted years ago. Gold never got anything like this. Recall that originally, Gold was included in the past guest party. When they were eliminated from the party, they were given the free drink on the last evening of the cruise as a consolation.
  15. The problem you're running into is the free drink certificate is only good for up to $10 I think. So you must pay the overage, plus the gratuity for that overage. Not many drinks are $10 or less anymore on Carnival. It's basically just beers or basic drinks like a Jack and Coke at this point. My last few cruises I've just used my free seaday brunch drink for either a mimosa that I give to my wife, or just a diet Pepsi.

  17. to me the fact that OP got the drink gratis is sort of irrelevant
  18. The Fantasy class was retired not because of size (Spirit class is basically the same size and they're all still with us), not because of age (Sunshine is older than several of the now scrapped Fantasy ships and she doesn't appear to be going anywhere). But because they have limited suite and balcony options. I don't know how much longer Elation and Paradise will be around, but when they do go it won't be because of age or size - it'll be because Carnival wants to sell balconies and suites, and those ships have very few of them.
  19. I think you can buy multiple 24 hour passes if need be if that is what you're asking. Just take into consideration that pre-purchasing a cruise-long package now locks in your rate today. Carnival has been seriously hiking the prices of their wifi every few months here lately. There's no way to know how much the wifi will cost when you sail unless your cruise is days away.
  20. Will never happen with the mass market lines - if those cities want a cruising future with a mass market line, they'll have to build taller bridges, a tunnel, or move the cruise port outside of the bridge path.
  21. You can purchase a 24 hour pass of the Value and Premium plans. The Social plan is only able to be purchased for the entire voyage.
  22. I don't see how they'd expect people to know that they buy the small cans of ginger ale, yet charge guests the same price for them.
  23. What I mean is the Excel class is an admission that Carnival cut too deep with the Playlist shows on their other ships. Watching karaoke in front of a screensaver isn't entertainment. They added better entertainment with the newest class of ships to better compete against RCL in particular.
  24. I would not expect anything other than the standard repainting of the hull.
  25. they can paint pretty much everything except for what is below the water line while the ship is in service
