If you buy something before boarding, like a drink package for the kids, you pay for it at the time of purchase by entering a CC. If you have OBC it is sometimes better to wait until you board to buy things like drink packages.
When you look at costs don’t look at the components, look at the bottom line. Every line includes gratuities somewhere either as a line item or rolled into the fare. With NCL is you don’t want the drink package you don’t pay a gratuity, on a line that rolls it into the fare you pay it whether you want the package or not
Check out was when you got the package, over $200 CAD is the 20% it’s mentioning. The only time you will pay anything for a drink if the cost of the drink itself is >$15.
They are not on your docs but are on you purchased items. It shows on your payment tab on NCL.com and on your confirmation document it shows under on board activities.
Giving them the names may have more impact than you think, though you may never hear of it. Complaints like yours impact their next contract or lack of one.
You can’t check in until 21 days out but that doesn’t prevent you from making reservations or purchasing excursions, soda packages, etc. Go to the explore and plan tab and it is all there.
It can be applied to almost anything except the DSC. You don’t select where to use it. It is a credit on your account that is used up as you charge things on board.
This is an example of a misinformed TA. First prepaid service charges are refunded if the cruise is canceled for any reason and second people pay many fees prior ro sailing and after final payment and there are no issues. If there were issues with payments after final payment date you can be sure the boards would be all over it.This sounds like a lazy TA issue more than anything.
