  1. It’s usually the first formal night, but not always. Up to the Captain’s schedule. Always been Piazza, deck 5 for all the ships we’ve been on. Just check your Patter or App once OB.
  2. That’s awful. No where to move you? We were just in Fiji in November, it was extremely hot there. Can’t imagine no AC. Ask your cabin steward for a fan for your room. I would talk with the HGM or the Director of GS about the AC and Housekeeping issues.
  3. I knew you would chime in with your great advice! Those whales were already active in January around Honolulu! Frisky things! 😂
  4. Are you looking at a 2026 sailing? Could be just the Island, it’s missing. IDK. I reported it, so we’ll see.
  5. Any time is a great time for Hawaii. We especially like March and October. A little less crowded. Seas were perfect in October and rough in November. But, you just don’t ever know. Maybe some of our Hawaiian friends will chime in?
  6. Yes! St Thomas is one of the most picturesque ports in the Caribbean. IMO I would schedule it for sure. Photo op, before dark. Great idea!
  7. St Kitts backdrop will be cute. Nice for the photo included in the UBD. Enjoy!
  8. Has anyone booked the UBD for 2026? I don’t see it on the cruise personalizer. 🤔
  9. You can reserve it ahead of time. In the note area, put port and date, if you wish. Cruise personalizer>Food and beverage experiences>ultimate balcony dinner. You can change it, once OB, either call RS or they will check in with you to take your order. We check the weather to make sure there’s no rain. You can also book it once OB too.
  10. To avoid the wind, we schedule it for a port day, near sailaway time. So, you have a great backdrop and not much wind. It’s nice if you’re in the port till 6 or 7. We schedule it about 530, but we eat early.
  11. That’s what I would do. Short line…I’m on it! Or, should I say, I’m in it! 😬
  12. We finished a 47 night in Dec. We remained healthy, and also the 20 night before that one. We do what a lot of the others do. Wash hands frequently, mask in crowded areas, like the elevators, tour buses and the theater. Leave the area when a lot of coughing and people blowing their noses. We occasionally go to the buffet and make sure to wash hands before we get our food. We do longer cruises. We’re not worried, just cautious, because don’t want to ruin our cruises if we get sick. Go and enjoy your cruise and take whatever precautions you want to. Everyone seems to do their own thing.
  13. They really should not. It’s per voyage and it is considered 2 voyages, even if you booked it as one. Just like your minibar, you get one for each segment, even if you booked it as one booking. Have fun!
  14. We do a lot of b2b’s and I always print out a copy of the segments that could be booked, and then show them my travel summary. I’ve had some security agents question me and send me to the liquor table. But, showing PCL the b2b’s or segments has always been NP on embarkation.
  15. So, @Jaxer05 how did your parents cruise go? Did they have a great time? TIA
  16. I’ve not seen them, but you may want to post this query on the Australia forum, if you’re sailing from there. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/564-australia-new-zealand-cruisers/
  17. That’s what I wondered. How do they know? Does GS tell them? Do they have access to your folio? I know years ago, they knew. But, I thought now, they do not know? Interesting.
  18. That is a lonely roll call. Sometimes people join closer to sailing. Here’s the link, if someone on here is looking for it. A lot of new cruisers aren’t aware.
  19. Is it Alaska? Could be chilly. You can check the weather once OB and move the date around. Or, they can set it up just inside the balcony door also for you.
  20. We complain while OB and talk to the sound guy. We also put it on our survey EVERY time, but it doesn’t matter. Why bother? The worst of all…newer ships with the huge piazzas, Enchanted, Sky, etc. So difficult to order anything or have a conversation. No, exercise class and dance classes do not….. need to be in front of us. Go to the Vista lounge, Club Fusion, pool deck, etc. Yes, I did buy noise reduction, concert ear plugs for the next cruise.
  21. Are you on the old app or the new app? You may need to use the new app. Check both. Or, wait a couple of days and check again. As long as your cruise is all in the website cruise personalizer and travel summary, you’re okay.
  22. Welcome! In addition to the information given already, here’s a link to the Alaska forum. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/33-alaska/
