Transportation options for Galveston Port?
ssb replied to Parkhopper's topic in Gulf Coast Departures
Galveston Saltwater Moms is who we use -
According to Michael Bayley, while in Galveston with Allure arrival , he said : "Future plans for the terminal include the docking of one of the newest classes of Royal Caribbean ships, Icon of the Seas, in Galveston in 2023" Icon of the Seas is 1,198 feet long, 250,800 tons, with 20 decks, a record 7,600 maximum passenger capacity and a record-breaking six waterslides. “Two weeks ago, we launched the Icon of the Seas and the ship is absolutely unbelievable,” Bayley said. “Allure is unbelievable, but the Icon is unbelievable times 100.”

Galveston Hotels: Harbor House or Tremont House
ssb replied to RocketMan275's topic in Gulf Coast Departures
Both walk-able and two to three blocks to terminals 2 and 1 Tremont is upscale full service hotel. Tremont Rooftop bar no longer seasonal. Everything is changed for the better. Harbor House is room stay only. Good hotel . Nothing else for now . Now own and operated by Landry's And many changes coming including expansion of hotel and facilities . Yes the only advantage is being right on port waters for seeing ships go and coming . Both are in town walk-able to same attractions and all terminals . New terminal # 3 is much further but walk-able for most -
The New Terminal in Galveston Opened Today
ssb replied to Ret MP's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We were off Adventure also yesterday. Federal Customs facial recognition was not used or not working . When we disembarked, there were at times 9 stations out of 18 stations manned by Custom Agents, and other times only 4 or 5, I understand. Yes the design, space and procedures provided for luggage staging and movement was very inadequate. With the very high number of flying out passengers, because of much much higher percentage on "repo" , the transfer to airports procedures were stressed. That will not be the norm in the future , with always high number like 80 % of drive in passengers in Galveston . There are many issues to tweet though, for Royal Caribbean , Federal Customs and third party contract operator of terminal. The contract operator also operates terminals in Florida for Royal Caribbean . This is not City of Galveston or Port of Galveston . -
terminals# 1 and #2 will be used by Disney Carnival Norwegian and Princess

With that last minute email , Believe your bid would be considered , if the guests assigned to cabins were unable to sail. For example of Covid or any other cancellation reason . But you were probably next in line . we have received that email a couple of times with not success . And we have had so far two junior suite royal ups and one spacious ocean view balcony royal up .

Next month, Royal Caribbean's new cruise terminal will open in Galveston, Texas and when it does, it will set change the norm for all other terminals around the world. The cruise line says by using solar panels, it will be able to generate 100% of its needed energy. This makes the terminal the first LEED Zero Energy facility in the world, and for exclusive use by Royal Caribbean International cruise ships. The new cruise terminal will be the home of Allure of the Seas when she begins offering cruises in November 2022.

There are privately owned parking lots with shuttles that charge a lot less .
