  1. They are on Liberty of the seas. No reservations required.
  2. I actually looked at Voyager but the dates don't work... Florida is just to far to fly for a 4 day cruise when I can't fly out until Monday. If there was something leaving on the Tuesday I'd consider it.
  3. Sorry to quote my own post but there is a third option as well... Just book a nice hotel in San Diego or somewhere near there and take a few days by the water.
  4. So I've got a question for everyone... I've had a week open up at the end of October so I quickly looked for a short cruise I could fill in there. I could depart Monday Oct 23 if it was a leaving out of SoCal or the 24th if it was leaving out of anywhere else. The other condition is I must be back in CA by Saturday the 28th. Unsurprisingly there are very options that fit into that narrow equation. Sadly, Navigator is on a 7 day charter that week so no 4 day available. The only options I can find are Carnival Radiance 4 day going to Catalina and Ensenada or the HAL Koningsdam repositioning from Vancouver to San Diego. I probably wouldn't get off the ship for the Carnival Radiance. The HAL Koningsdam has only one port of call Astoria OR which wouldn't be a big thrill either. The overall price would be a little cheaper on Carnival Radiance since there would be no flight to YVR or precruise hotel. My question/concerns... I'm concerned that HAL will be way to boring and Carnival not boring enough. I've not been on either line so I have no frame of reference. I've heard those short Carnivals are just booze cruises and absolutely horrible. I've got a close friend who is a princess fanatic who loathes Carnival and he warns against them like the ships descend right into hell itself. I've got a cousin who has done a few HAL's with his parents. He's close to my age and temperament. He has cruised Royal several times and prefers it over any other line. He said HAL was the most boring cruise he has been on. Does anyone have any thoughts, suggestions or recommendations?
  5. Sharron is the same way. She enjoys cruises but I am the addict. She thinks I'm nuts with all the time I spend on Cruise critic.
  6. Ditto, except for the purse part. I tip my waiter and asst. waiter at the end. They will be well taken care of then so I don't see a need to pull out a couple of bucks every time they bring me a drink.

Could easily sleep six. It was very spacious. As big as many suites without the suite price.
  8. No need to book anything. Just show up. Get there early if you want a good seat on the rail.
  9. So I just went and compared a couple Disney cruises to similar Royal cruises. Wonder if the Seas notwithstanding, there still seems to be a pretty big difference on the ones I checked.
  10. I have heard all about the extreme hot water damaging clothes the have been laundered but I never do that except for the bag so its just underwear, socks a t-shirt of two.
  11. @bobmacliberty I just went and listened to Zac Brown - I'll be your man. I'm not a country fan so I'm wasn't familiar with it. You have nothing to worry about, I promise there won't be a single person who notices your dancing. There won't be a dry eye in the house. What a beautiful song for a daddy daughter dance.
  12. Congrats to @bobmacliberty, It was hard losing my baby... But she has given me 3 more so I guess my son in law has redeemed himself. Also, Congrats to Owen @A&L_Ont That kid just keeps on winning.
  13. Wow, I just checked the fares and that is pretty good. Even airfare into New Jersey is good. I wish I had some free time in the next few weeks I'd jump on board.
  14. We have used the laundry bag, pressing and dry cleaning service. Everything has always been done very well.
  15. I simply lost balance in a hallway while coming back to the cabin from the Casino at 2am one night. I didn't fall overboard though.
  16. So far all I've found is the two I mentioned but I'm still searching. I loved the tribute bands onboard. It was one of my favorite parts of the entertainment on board.
  17. I'm generally a good tipper and always tip extra on cruises but you, and a couple others, finally convinced me to stop tipping the porters when you told me they were longshoremen making good wages. My bags have made it all the way without problem on my last three cruises. If we meet in IRL, I owe you a drink. 🙂 It's not so bad on the dark side. 👾
  18. I'm wondering if that might have started to chang... Phoenix is schedule to play Oasis in December and DSB is scheduled on Ovation in September
  19. I just brought my three grand kids on a cruise 14, 17 and 20. The 14 and 17 year old required the notarized form. Nothing was required for the 20 year old.
  20. Don't forget Cats! You don't want to miss that. It is awesome 😉
