  1. Had you booked with the Plus or Premier package? If so, the package would have included one device at a time per person and an upgrade to 4 devices by one person would cost $35/week pre-cruise.
  2. What Princess promises: The Best Wi-Fi at Sea MedallionNet Wi-Fi is fast, reliable and wherever you are. Stream your favorite shows, movies, music and sports. Stay connected to the internet anywhere on board so you can text, post photos, video chat and more.
  3. From the most recent CCL Corp stock analysts call: o Pricing impacted in part by limited promotions in opaque channels results in our cumulative book position for fourth quarter 2022 lower compared to 2019 sailings, but primarily due to FCCs. o For the full year 2023, our cumulative advanced book position is slightly above the historical average and at considerably higher prices compared to record 2019 levels normalized for FCCs.
  4. Princess and other CCL Corp brands compete with, among others, Royal Caribbean Corp and its brands, Mainly RCI. Many on this board have cruised on these competing brands. Here are some comments from a recent Royal Caribbean stock analysts call. A number of items (such as booking at higher pricing) are similar to CCL Corp. They also seem to continue to value their existing customers. o Our entire fleet is operating globally in our key destinations, demand for our experiences was very strong, and we achieved 96% load factors overall with the Caribbean at close to 105% at record pricing and high satisfaction scores. o As a result guest mix for the quarter was equally distributed across loyalty, new to cruise, and new to our brand similar to what we saw in 2019. o The positioning of our brands attracts guests across broad demographics, psychographics, and at a median household income above $100,000. Consumers are engaging earlier in the planning their vacation, with about 60% purchasing onboard experiences before they even set sail. Our guests continue to seek the rich experiences we offer spending significantly more onboard our ships compared to 2019 across nearly all categories. All four quarters of 2023 are booked well within historical ranges at record prices, with bookings accelerating every week. o We expect to return to overall historical occupancy level by late spring of 2023. o In the third quarter, over 95% of total bookings were new versus Future Cruise credit redemptions. o We need to improve our loyalty programs. o When the Covid protocols fell off, we immediately saw a significant increase in the volume of bookings. And that volume continued to -- just continued and has accelerated. And I think what we've seen is that literally, I think our calculation in the American market was that the addressable market expanded by about 35 million people almost overnight, and we saw that coming through in our booking, so it was a very positive step.
  5. The regular gift cards have no expiration date. The bonus gift card usually has to be used within two or three months.
  6. But it is not covered like the traditional Promenade deck is. You could use the traditional Promenade deck rain or shine.
  7. My experience is that the best pizza I have had on a cruise ship was on a Carnival ship. Made to order near the buffet, it was a personal size pizza that had a great crust and a great taste.
  8. They never had an IC. However it is a negative that they did not add one. That is a complaint about the Internet on most of the Princess ships. MedallionNet is not proving to be "the fastest WIFI at sea" for most people.
  9. When it comes to onboard tipping, the wording used by a number of travel agents is very deceptive. For example, one company says "Also, receive free drinks, Wi-Fi and gratuities on select sailings booked at eligible rates." Of course the eligible rates are the Plus and Premier rates. Drinks, W-Fi and gratuities are not free as it says. You are paying for them with those rates which only exist to pay for them.
  10. In that area when tendering is done by private companies, the tender personnel expect to be tipped for bringing you from ship to shore.
  11. All. The Bridge needs total forward darkness from the ship in order to scan the seas ahead.
  12. The resort fee is mandatory. The "crew appreciation" is not with the "Standard" Princess fare. (However, most people agree that the staff deserve to be so appreciated.) However, with Princess expecting 50% of passengers to book with the Plus fare and 25% to book with the Premier fare, both of which include the Crew Appreciation, pricing is like the lines that do include the crew tipping in the fare. Now that Princess is sharing all Crew Appreciation money across the entire fleet, you are no longer truly rewarding those that directly serve you on your cruise unless you tip them directly.
  13. If I tip the Maitre d', can I wear shorts to the dining room on a formal evening?
  14. If you have a forward facing cabin, you will need to keep your curtains closed at night so that light from your cabin does not affect the vision of those on the bridge.
  15. If you order with the app, when it is time to deliver they see where you (really your Medallion) is and that is where they deliver the beverage. So, if you order via the app when you are not in the dining room but are in the dining room when they are ready to deliver the beverage, will they still deliver it to you?
  16. Theoretically bottles could be opened and the contents replaced with alcohol while that is unlikely to happen with cans.
  17. I have had this often in the past. It beats having all the passengers line up for passport processing.
  18. Almost everyone on a cruise is paying for things they do not use. o You are paying for entertainment in the Princess Theater even if you never attend a show. o You are paying for swimming pools even if you never take a swim. o You are paying for movies on MUTS even if you never see one. o You are paying for ping pong tables and equipment even if you never use them. o You are paying for food at the International Cafe, even if you never get something there. o You are paying for soft-serve ice cream even if you never get any. o Etc.
  19. Several years ago Princess said they were phasing out the individual cereal boxes to reduce paper and plastic use. In other words, less negative effect on the environment. Then Covid-19 reared it's ugly head and Princess kept the individual cereal boxes in order to reduce the possibility of transferring the virus by using jars of cereal that many people would touch. I do not know the current Princess thought about keeping the individual boxes.
  20. a) EZAir rates with Princess are almost always at saving $$$ for international flights, especially one-way air travel. b) EZAir rates with Princess for domestic travel will usually be the same or even higher than booking directly with the airline. c) The big advantage with using EZAir is that if Princess cancels your cruise, you do not have to pay for the flights. If you have booked directly with an airline with other than full price fares and Princess cancels your cruise, you are stuck with the tickets you no linger need. d) If you have booked your return flight with EZAir and Princess is so late in docking that you would miss your flight, then Princess will arrange for a new flight at no cost to you. If you had booked directly with the airline, it will be up to you to make new flight arrangements and you will be responsible for any airline charges for doing this.
  21. You can transfer within 60 days of booking or by final payment date, whichever comes first.
  22. When we first started cruising on Princess there was an American Night menu and a parade with real baked Alaska (dome shaped) that at the end of the parade was brought to your table and then cut to serve At some point Princess dropped the Amarican Night name, but kept the same menu and the same American themed attire for the wait staff. Then at a later point in time, they started using fake baked Alaskas (dome shaped) for the parade. The baked Alaska served was from a sheet cake with each serving being about 1/4 the size of when it was served from a real domed baked Alaska. I am sure this was a money saver for Princess, Now, as a poster said above, they have been serving an individual small domed shape version.
  23. I did and I came acrooss this quote "That said, for a cruise ship traveling in the middle of the ocean, Princess Cruises provides incredible internet speeds." https://highseascruising.com/princess-cruises-medallionnet-wifi/
