  1. My first bad encounter happened in January at the Galveston port. It was a cold windy morning when I parked in the North Lot. I’d had to let my wife off at front because she was having back/knee problems and couldn’t walk far. Trying to navigate through the parking lot wrestling with two full size suitcases that kept going different directions, I finally got to where the shuttle buses were unloading and the porter reached over and grabbed one of the bags. I rolled the other bag over to him and then realized I didn’t have a tip in hand and all my tip money was in a pouch where I keep our passports. As I started digging for the pouch, I turned around and he was gone. Fast forward to the ship. My wife’s bag showed up early but mine never did. I mentioned it to the steward and he went to look for it, called the naughty room and could not find it. He then sent me to Guest Services and they took me behind the desk to take a look at the bags they had with no luggage tags. Still not there. I then talked to security and they said they’d send someone to walk the different decks later and see if they could find it. I gave him the description and told him it had one of the clear plastic tag holders on it with a steel cable so I was sure the tag had to be on it. About 8:00 I got a call describing my bag and ask if that was it. I replied that it was my bag. He said that it had a tag on it for cabin 1530 (I was in 9327). When they brought it, my plastic tag holder had been ripped off - nothing there but the cable and an eyelet and a paper porter tag had been put on there with the 1530 cabin number in it. My only explanation is that this was done deliberately because the porter didn’t get tipped. Had me in a panic for quite a while
  2. They’re all kind of obstructed IMO with a steel wall below the rail.
  3. Check to see if there are any better cabins available in the same category and call to move if possible.
  4. Mine just came up with the correct $50 credit. What an embarrassment for Royal.
  5. This is all that was written. “Royal Caribbean just cancelled my purchase of the premier package. They say they are cancelling it for everyone else too. Can anyone confirm this? I’m pretty angry over this. If royal Caribbean made a pricing error I feel it is on them and they should honor the package for those who purchased it.” Not my words - just what I’ve read.
  6. I saw where someone on the other media site posted that their package has been cancelled. And so it begins (or ends)…..
  7. As I said on the other thread. I believe the only response we’ll get from this is an “oops” email and a full refund. IMO, anyone thinking they’ll get some kind of compensation or the full package is delusional. Stomping your feet and emailing Bayley will just be a waste of time and contribute to your own frustration. I’ll just say “oh well” and move on.
  8. When they start hiding $100 bills, I’ll start looking…..
  9. You asked for opinions in your original post. Mine is that there is no deep thought out theory. Some mid level programmer screwed up which is a fairly common occurrence at Royal. I see no way they could honor it based on the flood of purchases and I’m expecting to receive an “oops” letter along with a full refund in a few days.
  10. Yeah, times are tough.. Royal can’t afford to give away 4 cents worth of popcorn to passengers. They need to charge $2.50 for it.
  11. Maria Flores has been floating between DL and SL concierge. Can’t remember the other ones name.
  12. Conversely, is there anything you can think of that they haven’t modified, reduced or cheapened?? One quick thought - we ate at Giovanni’s recently and the food was as good as always, but the steak was noticeably smaller and pasta portions were tiny.
  13. You get to pick your cabin and Royal gets a free $50. It’s not like you’re sharing a drink pkg or anything like that…. 😉
  14. In your edocs, there will be a page with specific instructions on how, when and where to meet the shuttle person.
  15. The next move will be leaving a large stack of towels, an extra set of sheets, a dustbuster and a bottle of windex in your room
  16. If they catch it, they’ll add it. If not, you’re home free. I’ve had it go both ways before…
  17. I have to wonder if Royal is in such dire straits that it has to raise gratuities, cheapen meals, reduce staff and services and raise fare prices, why does it keep spending multi millions spitting out new mega ships? Sounds like an irresponsible teen with a new credit card to me.
  18. I spent two weeks in 1728 and really enjoyed it and the view. It overlooks the min golf course. I couldn’t do the very middle that looks all the way down to Boardwalk because super heights freak me out.
