  1. I've always received a cabin in the Guaranteed Category but on one occasion it was not assigned until I was at the Port. While cabins may not be showing in inventory they usually have some either on reserve or are feed up as a result of move-up bids.
  2. The Dinner packages do not cover Le Voyage, Chef's Table or Magic Carpet. One consideration about the Magic Carpet Dinner is that it is often moved or cancelled do to winds. On our last B3B on Apex they moved it all 3 times. It was moved to the Aqua Spa Cafe and I definitely would have cancelled if booked. Definitely not the experience one had booked and the smell of chlorine was off putting.
  3. I've pulled up a chair and looking forward to your adventure. Was surprised to read about the baggage service. We arrived Rotterdam x2 and departed from Amsterdam. In Amsterdam they had a long line for people without tags but if you had you luggage you just put it on a conveyor belt like at the airport and it went into the backroom. There were some porters curbside but very few.
  4. I purchased a similar package for slots and never again. I got a slip from the casino and once I put it into a slot machine would not let me cash out and move to a different machine. The slot ship was like the Casino Promotional Slots and you could only cash out the winnings. I'll never purchase again.
  5. Signed into law by President Grover Cleveland, the PVSA requires vessels carrying passengers between two U.S. ports to be U.S. registered and built, and mostly owned and crewed by Americans. It is much like the 1920 Jones Act, except that it applies to passengers instead of merchandise. The act was implemented to protect U.S. jobs and can only be modified or eliminated by congressional action.
  6. So if I understand correctly we could potentially re-board the ship after zeroing out the ship but would not be permitted to go back ashore? That also wold work for us. We will be flying back to Sydney in March for the April TransPacific and will be spending a week with our friend's - You are correct, the last time we sailed together was back in 2018. Definitely a memorable cruise being evacuated from the ship on turn around day due to a typhoon and then dodging 2 more on the next cruise. I have to say the Japan Immersion Cruse was one of our favorites.
  7. That has always been my practice. If you turn it on before connecting to the ship your device thinks it is in a different location and doesn't see Celebrity's Intranet.
  8. I have departed early in the past and it requires the payment of a processing fee and advance approval. I have never done it on this itinerary. I do know they suspended downline disembarkation in 2021 and not sure if re-implemented. When I did it I had to contact emergencyteam@celebritycruises.com They responded - Thank you for your mail.... Below are the new procedures pertaining downline ... Re: Pre-Downline Request Good Day, Please be advised that we have received your request to embark/debark at an alternate port. After reviewing said request we are happy to advise that currently there are no regulatory restrictions that will prohibit an approval. There is a $65 USD or CAD equivalent per booking handling to finalize your approval and arrangement. Please contact us at your earliest convenience and provide us with a valid credit card payment. We can be reached 7 days a week, 24 hours a day at: Domestic: 1-800-256-6649 (prompt #1) or International: 305-539-4107. Thank you Warm Regards, Emergency Travel Team
  9. Thanks - We will be traveling with friends from Australia and they have both a home in Sydney and a ranch. Their home in Sydney is within walking distance of the Cruise Terminal so will probably just get off the ship with them and spend time at their place until we are allowed to re-board. We spend lots of time in Australia and really familiar with the Sydney area. Look forward to seeing you again after so many years. Jim
  10. When I was aboard it was working. Saw a number of people use it.
  11. Possibly because LLP was replaced with LHB on May 1. I have to agree with you that being proactive and do another "Big News Coming" then put a Marketing blurb out --- To improve your enjoyment -- we are eliminating dedicated butlers in SS.
  12. I have used NordVPN and Express VPN without a problem. Only caveat you need to install it prior to the cruise. I've noticed that the blocking is done by DNS and any search for a word with VPN in it will be rejected. Once installed no problems at all. I've used it in the past year on Apex, Silhouette, Solstice and Summit.
  13. Linda - I'm not sure if they did a retrofit but when I was on Summit in August/September of 2022 there was a small elevator Starboard far forward (hard to see if you didn't know it were there but very visible from the Retreat Deck. They also have an ADA compliant ramp up to the upper area. You can also see it in this video
  14. Thanks - I was just checking our itinerary for the 3rd segment of the World Cruise I guess won't be stopping in Cairns. We instead will be going to Yorkey Knob and Airlie Beach. We also won't have an overnight so I guess no problem for us. Curious about B2B in Sydney? Are you able to do the regular B2B processing and return to the ship or do you have to stay ashore for some period of time?
  15. I've personally been very successful with streaming media. As @keesar indicated that it may depend on proximity of your room to a router in the hallway. Premium using Starlink has been very stable for my needs. Other Factors that may affect your streaming pleasure - 1. Providers caching ability (Netflix is very good) 2. Whether the streaming service has geographic streaming restrictions. Some providers to not allow streaming content outside resident country.
  16. I can tell you for a fact that there are far more choices available on both MDR Menu and Blu Menu that that offered in Luminae. I see MANY reviews by MDR and BLU diners that also say they have no complaints about food and service in their assigned venue. All I can say is 'You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time"
  17. Personal experience has been that as many things on Celebrity the service is consistently inconsistent and depends on the Butler. Some of the newer butlers stick to the letter of the rules while many of the seasoned butlers know how and are willing to bend the rules.
  18. Not sure if there is a generic email address. I always get messages from Concierge****@celebrity.com (*** is the name of the Concierge) Wonder if there is a generic concierge@celebrity.com???
  19. It is very easy to put someone on you IGNORE LIST. That way you don't see their posts unless you choose to. If enough follow suite he will soon have no audience.
  20. Thanks for posting - I've never done an overnight that shut down tenders in the evening.
  21. I've always said if you don't like the response of a Celebrity Agent - call back and you may get a different answer. Your experience is why I choose to transfer my booking to a TA. I then simply call or email my agent without a wait time and it is his task to get the reduction or explain why. While I don't know the specifics of you booking my experience has been that AQ come with Drinks, Gratuity and tips. In the past you once could purchase a Guarantee Cabin at a lower price that did not include perks. Having said that - My experience is that price matching is done on a like for like basis and perks of the new offering may be different than you existing reservation. If you have a regular AQ cabin they will not match an AQ Guarantee Rate.
  22. Summit has a Retreat Sun Deck with Cabanas, loungers and a hot tub. The bar service is done in a back room and attendants available for your food and drink needs.
  23. I've visited on a Sunday and found most of the restaurants, shops and venues were open. If I recall some shops didn't open until noon. We also did it on our own via train and loved our outing.
  24. Was on Summit a year ago and was very pleased with the food. As for S Class have been on both Solstice and Silhouette. On both M and S Class we are able to order from both Luminae and MDR menu and probably order from the MDR menu about 50% of the time- mix and match. Really didn't notice much decline in the food except for awhile they were serving something called a Manhattan Steak (MDR) Not sure what type of cut it was but was round with no marbling and pretty tasteless. We are not big meat eaters so may affect our experience as opposed to you. My only disappointment was on Apex with poultry dishes. It had nothing to do with the quality of the food but the chef destroyed every poultry item I ordered. Got to the point our waiter would stand by him when he cooked. The Poultry Chef left at the end of the TA and on the next cruise the poultry was perfect.
