  1. No Special. I you choose to send out pressing for the next day's Chic nigh you will have to pay a 50% premium.
  2. I purchased the Premium and order a bottle of Grey Goose. I don't drink but Iain enjoys having a drink after we get back to the cabin at nights.
  3. I chuckled when I read this. I used the "Mobile Passport" lane a couple of times. The agent told me once they didn't have have a terminal to validate so would just waive people through that flashed it at him.
  4. Generally the times shown are when the Ship is scheduled to be alongside the pier. It may be 15-30 minutes after this time that they begin disembarkation. Also the Departure time is the time the ship leaves and generally you will have an All Aboard Time 30 minutes before departure.
  5. You are unable to upgrade from an upgrade. Once upgraded about all you can do is potentially pay the difference and select the next level cabin.
  6. Most "World Cruises" really aren't al the way around the world. I was looking at a number of them and usually it is just a term to mean a multi segment multi continental cruise of about 3 months duration.
  7. The Celebrity app will not have much information until about a week before your cruise. Once on board you will have access to your room charges and will show you OBC. Also once onboard you can book and cancel restaurants, excursions etc.
  8. My experience is that seeing "Pending" can be caused in the method you use to check your bid. If you enter by using the Move-Up bid page all bids will show Pending. Usually only one will allow you to modify. This is normal. If you however check by using the link from your confirmation usually all will be able to be modified or cancelled. If on this page all go declined and one is Pending without the ability to cancel or change this is usually an indication you may have one an upgrade and you will usually get confirmation within a day or two. Your first notification will be your charge card being charged. I use notifications an usually get a text from bank immediately of anything over $100.
  9. I've also had some cruises that didn't open up until 14 days prior to sailing. Why? No idea why some really early and others not. I think the 30 or 21days is just a place holder.
  10. I've often had the opposite and the room was too cold and even set on high wouldn't warm up. It is an easy fix if room is too hot or cold. Just call down and have them send up engineering. They can adjust something outside your cabin and fix. One time our bedroom was down well below 60. Ended up the thermostat had tripped a fuse and was blowing air conditioning only.
  11. If you are on the April 22 Solstice - the last port will be Ensanada as a foreign port is required. When you return to San Pedro you will go through a Electronic Immigration when departing the ship. Just walk up to a line and you will see a check mark and your cleared. Customs is like in Europe Red Lane Green Lane.
  12. A quick google search will usually answer your question. https://www.celebritycruises.com/content/dam/celebrity/pdf/Celebrity-Cruises-Beverage-Packages.pdf
  13. Really depends on the cruise. I'm on a B3B and the first cruise opened at 60 days prior to cruise the others still have not opened. BTW - you don't need an invite to bid. Just go to the link below and check. Some TA like the Big Box store do not participate. https://www.celebritycruises.com/bid-on-cruise-room-upgrade
  14. I find it really convenient to search Google Maps - First enter your originating port and then choose directions - enter Venice Train Station. Google Map At the top you will see symbols for Bus/Train. When you select this you can put in the time you wish to leave or arrive and will show cost, train or bus numbers and time. It's real time and great when traveling.
  15. From your description I believe you are on a B2B. There are many threads on this if you look. Basically a B2B is the combination of 2 or more cruises. Each are treated as a separate cruise. You will receive B2B instructions and they likely will have a meeting to answer all your questions. There are separate instructios for staying aboard or going ashore for the day and those staying aboard and being processed. When you research you will see posted instructions. Thanks to @Silkroad for the post. Good thread here -
  16. Surprisingly on my last cruise I saw they had them on sale in the gift shop. Going back in times there use to be numerous threads of people complaining of how disturbing they found them when many people used them on ships.
  17. Many of the "younger" generation grew up never seeing a wall phone. I know my grand kids laugh when they see an old rotary dial phone.
  18. They do have FDIC Coverage as it is required by law of all banking institutions. SVB is (was) a mostly a commercial bank. They do have FDIC coverage but most of the Companies that banked there have 100's of Millions on deposit. The "Non-Bailout" will mostly be covered by FDIC and will be covered by raising the premiums of all banks. Kinda like after a major earthquake insurance policies raise premiums to offset their loss.
  19. Have to agree. Even though I usually have premium water available I usually drink the melted Ice Water in the evening.
  20. Agree no points unless you actually take the cruise.
  21. I guess you saw the reports that all deposit will be covered. Financial regulators said Sunday night depositors of the failed Silicon Valley Bank will have access to all of their money starting Monday, March 13, while announcing new facilities to backstop deposit withdrawals across the banking system amid fears of contagion following SVB's shock failure last week. In a joint statement, the heads of the Federal Reserve, Treasury Department, and FDIC said: "After receiving a recommendation from the boards of the FDIC and the Federal Reserve, and consulting with the President, Secretary Yellen approved actions enabling the FDIC to complete its resolution of Silicon Valley Bank, Santa Clara, California, in a manner that fully protects all depositors." "Depositors will have access to all of their money starting Monday, March 13," the statement added. "No losses associated with the resolution of Silicon Valley Bank will be borne by the taxpayer."
  22. Last year they were advertising a "World Cruise" on Edge - It is actually 4 cruises and doesn't go around the world - Route - Rome - Dubai (October 30), Dubai - Singapore (November 13), Singapore to Sydney (November 25) AND Singapore New Zealand (December 9)
  23. When on Summit and Solstice they had paddles and balls in the benches along the perimeter.
  24. They still have them on each deck usually near the elevators.
  25. Once on the ship you create an account using your SeaPass portfolio number and then choose the free internet option. With this you will be able to see all the activities, reservations, room charges and message. Many report that when you receive a message they do not hear an alert. I personally hear a very low pitch ping and see a message waiting when I look.
