  1. I asked my doctor about getting Vaxed just before testing for a cruise. He said don't worry the shots are not live virus and the test are for live virus so should have no affect on your test.
  2. Thanks Gerry - I was just poking around the App. On both cruises they are showing an All Aboard Time of 3:30 for a 6:00 departure. I know in Yokohama the Retreat host was able to get us approval for a later time. I may just have to play it by ear. Really a short turn around in Reykjavik and we were tying to do a short excursion on our own.
  3. On our last cruise with 4 liters from the B2B Iain did bring two with us. One for Quarantine - for medicinal purposes only of course; and one, for our trip to Scotland.
  4. Could anyone on a recent cruise that did a B2B answer a question? On turn around day, if you choose to use your Transit Pass and leave the ship before the B2B group processing, When do you have to be back aboard. I know that at regular ports it is 30 minutes before departure but suspect with having to process you in terminal and do the safety drill it is probably earlier. I just looked at the B2B instructions I received on the last couple and no return time was ever mentioned.
  5. I think the current strains of Omicron are so virulent that everyone will eventually catch it regardless of Vax. What they tell us is we have a natural immunity to it for 3 months from when we got it in April even after having 5 shots (long story short they screwed up on my first and gave me one Pfizer and One Moderna before it was authorized so the revaxed me for both) but that was a year ago. I had my first official Booster but the second one had not been authorized when we left for our last cruise so didn't have the official 2nd booster. My doctor recommended we wait until 3 weeks prior to the upcoming cruise to have our 2nd booster so have it scheduled for next week. Since we will have to have a regular test and two B2B tests we can only hope we don't have a repeat of testing positive during a B2B.
  6. While not in the same format you can go to the app and search for Solstice and the current cruise. Select Daily planner - under filter change from Recommended to ALL and you can then browse them by day. They may not be 100% accurate but I find them to be a pretty good listing of what is happening by the hour. They will also tell you the Chic Nights
  7. We got upgraded to a RS on our last cruise and they credited back the cost of the setup we had purchased. While many don't see the sense of it - Iain often enjoys a quiet drink in the room after we return to the room in the evening and doesn't feel like running down to the bar to grab a drink. It all depends on what we each enjoy and are comfortable with.
  8. Like you ... I stick mine inside the luggage so it isn't showing but doesn't impact it's efficiency.
  9. I've ordered it before and just ordered for a cruise yesterday. You order from the Planner under Drinks. You select 1 Premium or Classic then choice your choice of label. The bar setup comes with 1 liter bottle and mixers. It should be in your room with glasses upon checkin. Gratuities are added during checkout and you can charge against OBC prior to cruise.
  10. Thanks for your live post. Really enjoying both the review and the Photos. I can't help chuckle every time i see that Elephant by the pool. Looks like perfect weather.
  11. Personally I book with an agent and he is able to quickly answer my questions and deal with Celebrity. Any TA should be able to answer your question as they have access to the booking system and would also probably offer you additional OBC on top of what Celebrity offered.
  12. Yes on a space available basis.
  13. Agree - I asked the PRH about it. Really didn't matter to us as Zenith get unlimited. He said they put it in place because of abuse by some customers but he doesn't enforce unless the customer is taking in laundry from all their friends. He said a bag every day or two is normal.
  14. That would be positive. When I tested positive the contact tracing was pretty much a farce. The only thing they ask me if we were traveling with others. Nothing about where i had been and with who.
  15. In the past month masks have not been required except in the Casino and Theater unless eating or drinking. Many say it is hit or miss on compliance and enforcement. You will not feel uncomfortable whether you choose to wear a mask or not and I would say 90+ plus do not wear masks. I would hope you or others don't make people feel uncomfortable who chose to wear mask. We wear asks because we take B2B's and B2B2B's and are tested at the end of each cruise and get tossed off the ship if tested positive. Even though I wore my mask 100% of the time on the first two curies in April I tested positive the last day of the second cruise and could not continue.
  16. It is best that we each read https://www.celebritycruises.com/cruise-with-confidence There may be some confusion with the "Cruise with Confidence" this policy mostly deals with price matching in the link above and imply that if a price reduction occurs for booking on or before March 31 they will match up util Sept 31 AFter that it reverts to the original rules The information about testing positive is covered extensively in this thread -
  17. No included laundry with any cabin class less than RS. You may have 1 or 2 free bags per person with CC Elite or above.
  18. Ken - I'm also on the same cruises and none of know yet whether there will be B2B testing. There have been a number of posts in the past two weeks on B2B testing. Most are reporting from Europe and Carribben that they have had to do B2B testing. @Northern Aurora reported that on Equinox last week they were not required to do B2B testing. Unfortunately there are some uninformed responses in the thread and I suggest you do your own research. Especially https://www.celebritycruises.com/health-and-safety https://www.celebritycruises.com/healthy-at-sea/faqs These protocols have been changed at least 3 times in the past couple of month so what you read last month many no longer be current. They current policy is in-consistent and out of date. They often say that the policy only applies to cruises from the US prior to June 30 but is included in the latest update as of
  19. I think kids sometimes get a bad rap due to the actions of irresponsible parents that allow their children go wild as they ignore them. I was particular thinking about the reports of Generation X on her well written live post. I've seen many well behaved children and adults but unfortunately have seen some very bad behavior by both children as well as adults. I recall on my last cruise that a couple came into Murano with a 6 months old and I moaned to myself. He whimpered a couple times and his parents immediately got up and removed him from the room until he fell back asleep. The next night we were in Tuscan and guess who was at the next table. Again... They were the perfect parents and we actually had fun chatting with them. I'm telling this to show the I often make assumption about all children while there are equally as many well mannered adults and children that I often overlook.
  20. Personal opinion only - life is too short to worry about the small things. If you want or need a vacation go for it. I've been on 5 cruises since resumption of cruising and while there have been shortages none of them affected how I enjoyed the cruise. Many of the shortage you will also probably have to deal with at home as well as at sea. One of the shortages that many were complaining about was Crown Royal - When I googled on it I found out it wasn't just Celebrity. Covid caused a world wide shortage from too many people drinking it while at home and drank them out of stock. They said with aged whiskey's you can't just turn on the tap and make more. All passengers found an acceptable alternative.
  21. It does. I had a positive test with Navica and within 5 minutes of my test I had a text and email from my local county health department on what to do and a contact tracing questionnaire (not real helpful when your overseas) . They are in no way connected to Celebrity.
  22. I've seen a number of posts of people who have unsuccessfully tried to to switch to a classic non-alcohol package. If they weren't successful switching from a Classic to a Classic NA the odds are slim from a Classic to a Premium NA. Having said that - once on board ask. The worst they can do is say no and who knows they may do it. Definitely come back and report how successful you are.
  23. Chose a current Riveria with same number of days. The app is only a place holder until about 2-3 weeks before departure. To find Select - See other Sailings -- underneath your reservation choose ships we support then your ship then select a sailing. You can also download the full stock menus from Edge at this link - The E-calass do have restaurant specific everyday items that aren't available on other class ships. https://www.celebritycruisespresscenter.com/download-press-kit-item/44/
  24. You will find that Celebrity does not have different menus for different ships. They have a 14 day rotation of menus and usually start on day 1. Easiest way to see them is via the App - Select your ship or any ship and a current cruise with the same itinerary. Select dining and choose either Main Dining Room, Blu or Luminae and then at bottom select each day and browse. The advantage of selecting our ship and similar itinerary is that it will help determine the Chic nights.
  25. For me it relevance to Celebrity as I had a bag at Celebrity's port Everglades Terminal go missing. I now use on every Celebrity cruise I take. It helps me both getting my luggage to the port but also helps understand the location once given to the porter until I receive it in my room. Knowing it's on the ship gives me a sense of security. On Cruise Critic I find it better to ignore a thread that I'm not interested in instead of leaving a snarky message.
