World Cruise Casino Question

I’m curious to see how much the total pax changes with each individual segment. -
World Cruise Casino Question
lovesthebeach2 replied to LadyZolt's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I’m not a gambler but if I was I probably wouldn’t spend time in the casino, because the 2 segments we’re doing are very port intensive. In the 20 days we’ll be onboard, only 1 is a sea day. I agree that the vibe will be different many times as new people join the cruises. We did a B2B on Odyssey in October and the vibe on the TA was very different from the Holy Land we did before it. -
Harmony - No more separate event invites

Since we received no invites at all on or last cruise, I was wondering if we wouldn’t have been let in for the Cheers lunch, but the LA was at the door and recognized me since I had gone to her to ask why I never received any invites…. No checkoff list on Odyssey. -

On our Odyssey B2B we never received any papers for any invites in our cabin. We missed the C&A party in the Solarium that they had for the Transatlantic cruise. Others said later that they had the invite papers in their cabin….. we also didn’t get the invite for the Cheers with an Officer lunch, but I knew about it because I had spoken to the LA and she gave me all the events and I just put them in my phone. In the past we had always received SOME kind of paperwork to let us know what was going on, but not last time. The LA did say to me that all papers from them are supposed to be given to us by Housekeeping. Ours although she was very sweet, never gave us anything. -
POT smoking on balcony?
lovesthebeach2 replied to Mustang2015's topic in Royal Caribbean International
No they didn’t get thrown off, just got a visit from GS making sure they realized they can’t smoke on balconies. Another time they had no idea who turned them in, they probably thought it was their room attendant since they had left their ashtray full of butts on the table on the balcony. these were two separate cruises. -

Twice Ive taken pictures and went down to GS with them. Both times that’s all they needed to pay a visit to the cabins. Both times were for cigarettes. -
Oops… I meant we each get 5 drinks being D+, so we don’t being wine onboard anymore

Years ago before we were getting the drinks for 💎, I would bring 2 bottles and DH would be a few people behind me and also bring 2 bottles. We were never questioned. We don’t do that now that we get 5 each

Maybe not, but I do think it could be profitable if they created MINI world type cruises such as what they did for the 4 segments. When this is over they will have a much better idea of which areas were more popular and therefore profitable. I would definitely be interested in longer cruises to more varied places that are totally different than the regular Caribbean or Mediterranean cruise. Although these itineraries may not be popular with families that want an amusement type vacation, they would use the smaller ships for them…… time will tell when this cruise is over.

I’m a bit confused. I thought the dining portion of the gratuity is distributed equally to everyone who works in dining, whether they are in the MDR, WJ, Sorrentos, etc. For example, If don’t eat in the MDR, where would our portion of the days tip be diverted if I eat in the WJ, Sorrentos, Park Cafe, or just nibbles in the Diamond lounge. They would have no idea who would get it. I’ve pre booked meals in specialty dining and the 18% is already added, so why would my portion from MDR be distributed there, when they’ve already received the 18%? And if many people never go to MDR, then the servers there get no gratuity ever? I saw a crew member working in the WJ, Cafe 270, and Giovanni’s as a server on Odyssey. She was all over the place. So did she get extra tips because she was working in so many different places. sorry I’m so confused, maybe I didn’t understand your post.

I absolutely feel 100% the same as you. I’ve said before that when we were in our early 40s we moved into our first gated HOA community to be closer to Bobs parents. Most there were new retirees. What we saw over the years is that the average amount of years that were “good” for them was around 10. After that, they weren’t able to do all the things they wanted to do “when they retired”. So we are doing as much as we can now, while we can. Why wait right?

That’s pretty much how I live. I don’t care about “stuff” at all. I would rather live my life thru my senses. I love to see the wonders of the world, I love to listen to the sound to the ocean, I love to taste food from all regions. I actually think it’s an exciting thing to sell your house, get rid of all the unimportant “stuff”, put the memories in storage and travel for as long as you like. I’m sure anyone that has done this has a plan for the future after they’ve had their fill of the world……

Have you been to “The Best of British Pub and Cafe” on 27 in Davenport ? We went there once for dinner and I remember that it had food items for sale too but I’m not sure if they had freezer foods or just cupboard items. Some of of the items you have on your breakfast list we see in the WJ on cruises out of Europe, including black pudding which we saw on our last cruise. Haven’t seen fried bread, but all others were there including the bacon that I had no idea what it was, I think DH tried it. I like that you have some plant based options in your freezer, I do too!
