  1. The title says Summit. FYI, when I sailed on her a few months ago part of deck 2 was used for quarantine.
  2. Which specific cabins are you thinking of?
  3. It is marketing (the same way many hotels in the US are adding a resort fee). This way they can advertise a very low price on the Internet and it is not until you look closer that you see the real price is almost double. Similar to the way NCL advertises free drinks but then adds significant gratuities.
  4. I was wondering if you get airline miles (eg, from United) if you buy through Cunard CompleteAir?
  5. I've stayed at Summit Lake lodge and it is really nice. However, Girdwood is 45 minutes away, 90 minutes round trip. Assuming no construction.
  6. They do not really know if they are unavailable until the ship sails.
  7. I was in Puerto Rico for a week several years ago.
  8. I did a bioluminescence snorkel once. It was amazing.
  9. In most cases shipboard credit can go to gratuities. Also, for the previous poster who already purchased dining, they usually do NOT change the price after you have made a dinning, excursion, or drinks package purchase. I originally asked the question because I have a cruise coming up in January and was thinking they might raise gratuities before then, and if they did would they give me an opportunity to pay them ahead at the old rate. That was really the only question. Personally, I used to prefer that they build in the service cost to the price since it is something that always has to be paid however these days, I am OK if gratuities is not included since it reduces the final payment amount and therefore less money to try and get back if you cancel after final payment.
  10. Not sure it is the same. On RCL there is a link in the confirmation email that can be used to modify/cancel the bid.
  11. They may not since there are only a few ships. However, if it is easy for them, they might as a way to handle last minute cancellations
  12. I have been on inside cabins and been happy. It depends on what you care about. To each his own.
  13. Royal just raised gratuities to $16 for lower cabins and gave existing bookings the option to pay the existing rate.. Do you think Celebrity will follow?

    Low salt?

Are they completely different or the same choices with less salt?

    Low salt?

I prefer a low salt diet and generally find that cruise ships add way more salt than I like to the food. We will be in Britannia on QE. Is it better to call in advance or just ask in the dining room that they don't add any last-minute salt. Any thoughts?
  16. You may not here about whether an offer is accepted or rejected until 2 days before the cruise.
  17. I just got my crystal ball out and I predict that if the ship is half empty 30 days before the cruise, they will probably drop the price somewhat. Unfortunately, I can't predict if the ship will be half empty. As others have said watch the prices and if you find an acceptable price make a purchase and then keep watching to see if it drops again. If it does drop again call and try to get on-board credit. On one of my cruises, I got an extra $700 of on-board credit during a price drop.
  18. They warn you that your purchase may not arrive for 12 weeks. A year sounds like a major issue. I would call Park West again.
  19. It depends on what you like. Personally, I like the forts however check when they close. They are US National Parks. There are various restaurants, I don't have a specific recommendation. Some of the other interesting sites (eg, rainforest, snorkeling, bioluminescent bays) may be too far.
  20. I would then put it in a very large Ziplock bag just in case. FYI, the baggage compartment is usually not temperature controlled.
  21. The non-alcohol coffees are. So are teas. If you get alcohol in the coffee, you may pay a $1 or $2 surcharge.
  22. I seem to remember it was there years ago. Hope it still is.
  23. Which is the non-nudist end? Is it easy to find taxis going back to the cruise port?
  24. We will be in St. Marteen in late January, 11AM - 6 PM. Just want to sit on the beach, maybe swim if the water is warm enough and grab a late lunch? Relax. Should we just ferry over to Philipsburg or is it worth the hassle of a taxi ride to another beach and if it is, which one?
