I just updated my One Plus 8 phone and everything seems ok.
-
Thanks, I'll go ahead and do it and we'll see what happens!
-
I didn't do the last bad update since I'm sailing this Sunday. I paused my updates. Do you think it's safe to install this one? Or should I stay paused and use the one I know works? If it forces me to update while on the cruise is there a chance I could have problems and the update wouldn't go through?

Haven't been on Princess in a while. Do they still serve you the drinks in the buffet or do you have to get your own? Does someone come around to take alcohol drink orders?
-
When you have a package do the drinks get listed on your account with the price and then show zero'd out? Just want to keep track to make sure I'm at least breaking even. (not a big drinker, but with coffees, bottled waters, and a few cocktails I should make it)

Bidding on Club Class mini suite-location question
Bollycats replied to Bollycats's topic in Princess Cruises
OP here.... Just wanted to give an update. Got an email last night that our waitlist cleared for the club class mini suite. We are currently in a forward mini-suite so only one step up. They want an additional $4,100 for it! Of course we are not going to do that so I will let it go. The cabin they were offering was not real close to the glass elevator so it would have been okay. But if I bid now I may not win the bid and I may not be able to get that specific cabin. So I still don't know what to do. -
How is the bidding system doing? Any comments?

I didn't do a bid yet but I did put a request for a wait list for a club class mini suite on our 7-day cruise next month. We are in a forward mini suite now so club class is the next step up. The waitlist confirmed and they want an extra $4,100 for it. That's crazy! Now I'm wondering if I bid, where should I bid on the scale since this category of cabins seems ultra expensive? -

Does anyone have a current menu for the food options in Amber Cove? I'm a vegetarian and want to see if there's anything I can eat or if I'll need to go back on the ship for lunch.

What is special about the breakfast in Sabatini's other than mimosas?
-
Hit the buffet earlier and store things in the fridge for later.

Years ago my mom broke her knee. Thought she'd be back to normal before our cruise but she wasn't. She called and was put on a waitlist for a handicapped room. A few weeks before travel one became available. Although only now an inside is available, something else accessible may become available in balconies or mini suites if you get put on the waitlist. It's worth a try!

Will Nord VPN work with the Medallion Internet on Startlink
Bollycats replied to cruiserdf's topic in Princess Cruises
I never use my phone on public wifi-not even with a VPN. I was thinking of using my Norton VPN to check my email on the cruise. (not doing any banking or sending credit card numbers anywhere. ) So you're saying my email is encrypted (I checked and it has https) so I'm safe just reading emails and deleting them without a VPN on the ship? -
If people aren't eating in Alfredo's because of the price then I have a feeling the pizza on the lido deck is going to have a very long line.

This is the Royal Tea. Held once during the week on the Royal Class ships only. It was a $10pp charge but well worth it. Not sure if they are still doing it since covid.
-
Here are some photos of it. They choose the tea for each course, not you, but they were great. This was back in 2017 so things might have changed.....

Are the app developers working for the competition?????
Bollycats replied to TopofWorld's topic in Princess Cruises
The first and only time I used the app was Dec 2019 on the Royal. I couldn't get it to work on my 2 year old Android phone. My mom's iphone worked just fine. I went to the tech desk onboard or whatever they call it, and he fiddled with my phone for the longest time. Finally he said he'd write my info down in his book so someone behind the scenes could "look into it". As he was writing down my phone type, version number, etc I saw pages and pages of other people's phones, Android and iphone both. Apparently they were having a lot of problems even then. I never did get it to work on that cruise. After years of sailing Carnival I'm finally back on Princess in November. I'm not real excited to try again, still have a bad taste in my mouth. On the other hand, Carnival's app works very well. It doesn't have all the features that Princess does like order food from anywhere, but it works. Just like a restaurant you can check in for dinner when you're ready to eat and it will let you know when your table is ready. As we're finishing getting ready in the cabin I check the app and it says 10-20 minute wait and I check in then. By the time we make it to the dining room our table is ready. Everything just seems to work with few, if any, glitches. OP-every time I scroll by this thread your title makes me laugh! -
If you really want a treat try the Royal Tea on the royal class ships. It has a $10 charge, or at least used to, but it is very swanky! You get a lot of food and a different tea with each course. It is in the Piazza on a certain day and you have to sign up for it in advance. I hope since COVID it's actually still operating. It was fantastic!
