  1. I'm the OP. I decided to go with an option from a travel broker recommended here. It's quite a bit cheaper than Carnival's and has higher coverages. No CFAR though. I've never needed it but THIS would be the time I would need it! Taking my chances and crossing my fingers......
  2. We want to take a taxi from the port to Mountaintop. We're not sure how long we'll stay there so we don't want our taxi to wait for us. When we're ready to leave, will there be taxis to take us into Charlotte Amalie? Or will they all be waiting for the passengers they brought there?
  3. Thanks everyone. I do believe I need to buy now when deposit is made to cover pre-existing conditions. Just to be safe. It's not a lot of money I was just trying to avoid putting out more money now as this cruise might not happen due to family issues. I appreciate the information on the brokers and have checked their sites. Not sure which one I'll do yet but I have until tomorrow to decide.
  4. I put a cruise on hold and it asks if I want the Carnival insurance. I do, but do I have to buy it at deposit time or can I wait until final payment? Are pre-existing conditions not covered if I wait until final payment?
  5. We were on a Princess ship last month and when we got off the pier there were people hawking a $20 city tour. It sounded too good to be true so we moved on and did what we had planned. Later while having lunch, we spoke with a couple from our ship who mentioned they took the tour. Said it was a great value and they really enjoyed it. We'll be going back next year and I really hope they are there again. Does anyone know the name of the tour company or have a website?
  6. If I do the cove balcony I will make sure to get one of the ones under the dining room. I figure carpet will mask a lot of the sound.
  7. Interested in booking a Cove balcony cabin on the Magic. The choices are on deck 2 and look like a dining room and galley are above them. What is the noise level? I would think under the carpeted dining room might be ok, but under the galley would be horrendous.
  8. Thanks everyone. It was just very convenient to get all I needed at once to put in the fridge.Oh well. I'll check the deck plan again on deck 5-somehow I missed it.
  9. I used the drink package on my last Carnival cruise but for some reason only got alcohol with it! Now I have non-alcoholic questions. I know the small water bottles are included. How many will they give me at one time? (just off Princess and I could get 4 at a time, which is what I needed for the day. I would grab those at the same time as getting my morning coffee and take everything back to the cabin-very convenient) Also, where is the coffee bar on the Magic? I've checked the deck plans but can't seem to find it. Any other places onboard to get specialty coffee other than the MDR?
  10. Do I have to buy a wifi package for the whole week and can I purchase day by day as needed?
  11. I am vegetarian, not vegan, but on my recent cruise I asked for the vegan menu twice because the regular menu didn't have anything vegetarian that appealed to me. I tried two of the vegan appetizers and loved them. The first one was the roasted pears with apricots and pistachios. The other was the cauliflower street taco which I included a picture of.
  12. I don't think tank tops in the dining room at dinner is appropriate. On formal night I saw many men wearing khaki pants and button-down shirts with no tie or jacket. I have no problem with that. But there needs to be a minimum dress code enforced in the evening. No gym wear, no tank tops, no flip-flops.
  13. It was only one night. If that person had been there other nights then we would have asked to permanently move. We had requested this waiter and junior waiter after the first night when we like them so much.
  14. I wasn't trying to look. It was in my peripheral vision as the person was sitting right behind my traveling companion.
  15. Recently on the Caribbean Princess I got to dine while watching a man's hairy armpit in a tank top during dinner. He constantly ate with his left arm on the table so it was very visible. When we asked the seating host about dress codes she said there is nothing they can do. This was in the middle of the week not the first or last night where there might be luggage issues.
  16. Nope, didn't get it on disembarkation day and it's not in my spam folder.
  17. My cruise ended on Nov 19th-Sunday. On Monday I got an email from Princess titled "Tell us what's important onboard". I assumed it was my post-cruise survey, but the email is talking about a cruise I cancelled in Nov 2021. I never booked or cancelled a cruise in Nov 2021. I did open the survey to see if it was really about cancelling a cruise and it was. So how do I get the actual post cruise survey? I found Contact Us: Princess Cruises to give post cruise feedback but the box only allows 1000 characters. I have A LOT more to say than that!
  18. I was just on the Caribbean Princess and decided to try one. They are not the monstrosities that they originally were with a huge slice of cake stuck in the glass. I had a little 2 bite cheesecake and a mini Snickers bar with ice cream whipped cream and chocolate sauce. The big huge sucker she handed to me separately. I would definitely order it again as it wasn't too much food. Although I wouldn't pay $12 outright for it. I had the plus package so it was "free".
  19. I am on the Caribbean Princess right now and I also use the app to have them come pick up our room service plates. And the shops do not have bags on this ship so I had to carry my shirts around with me.
  20. I'm on the Caribbean princess right now and the app works great. Everything is pretty quick and smooth. My Android phone has the update from November 8th.
  21. At first there was only one line outside for security. Then a man came by and separated us into lines whether you have the medallion or not. Then they let in the medallion holders to security first. After security then they had the separate check-in lanes whether you had a medallion or not.
  22. No, when they finally allowed in the people without medallions then they went through their separate checkin line and those with medallions went through their line for check-in.
