"Crew Appreciation" charge on Australia & NZ cruises?
Ombud replied to Mary loves to travel's topic in Princess Cruises
@Steelers36 i thought (perhaps wrongly) that those assessed gratuities were distributed throughout the fleet .... not just to the ones who I interacted with. @Mary loves to travel precisely. My 'carryon' bottle of wine lasts all week. I still have the bottle I traded my mini bar for in April in the cupboard. On port intensive itinaries even the wifi has lesser value TO ME. So it comes down to gratuities -
"Crew Appreciation" charge on Australia & NZ cruises?

My personalizer has the old rate. I don't mind MY waiter, HW, asst waiter, steward getting it (doing my own laundry). But it seems like it's just wage replacement these days. -
On my last voyage (Emerald 6/1/23-6/17/23) there was dancercize in the piazza each morning around 9. Hula lessons in Club Fusion (Hawaiian cruise). Emerald is sister ship to Ruby

Almond croissants, mozzarella & tomato panini, vanilla leaf tea ..... but I really like the key lime pot on the app. Reminds me if Meyer lemon pie

I know they didn't bc I was next in line and they re-announced correct cash only. Fortunately another roll call member loaned me the rest of £ and I paid him back with $s onboard. I had a few £ but nowhere near enough. He was from USA so $s maybe wasn't a problem? Everyone was scrambling Now I ALWAYS carry 50 in small bills local currency (they also weren't making change) This was June 2018

Main bus terminal. There's another bus (101 or was it T1?) that also did it but stopped in Stromness to pick up / drop off. Just get there early as it's popular. Frankly I think a taxi for 2+ passengers would still be cheaper than the ship tour (1/2 hr, $45ish?)
-
I did the bus to & from Skara Brae. Note: you must have exact change in £. No €,¥,or $ accepted. I know this clip states USD but that was NOT accepted in 2018. Just £s there used to be other alternatives as well so Google it if interested. Weird to call pre-shutdown as olden days but a lot has changed

"Crew Appreciation" charge on Australia & NZ cruises?
Ombud replied to Mary loves to travel's topic in Princess Cruises
I know .... think Thrak usually books that but maybe he'd know anyway. Are you suggesting that my gratuities might also be locked in at 14.50 a day?? Is that A$21.02? -
"No show" because you didn't board or refund port fee due to missing port?

Can you come back & let us know if it's 14.50 a day or what? I *might* pre-pay if its more -
@cr8tiv1 i always get the difference refunded to the method of payment -- FCC, PayPal, or Visa. And I do it all the time. (Just did Sydney & Narita return yesterday $2212.44 UGH, and Rome today 641.12 but NS from FLL -> SF instead of Miami. Not a fan of Miami) Waiting on a $22 refund / don't like PCL holding my $$s / usually takes 2-3 business days if PayPal.

Congratulations @waltd! You can also go directly to the airline with the booking # and book your seats provided it's UAL, AA, Delta, and maybe a few others. But if you want to do it online it takes just a matter of seconds for those seats to become available. Wait too long (in my case it was 5 minutes once, went from 18C to 19C) and someone else gets them I check and modify prices up to the final 46 days, then I request that it be ticketed. Do everything online

cabin door display - meaning of the color and symbols

Yes, no footstools on the Discovery but I could've swore i had one on the Enchanted, did on the Royal & Majestic in those rooms (E425, E421). Back in Enchanted E433 in 4 short months .... Back to OP: Red - privacy Green - service Footstool or sm table - quarantine Emptied out room - separated for isolation by separate crew (asked as sooo many on my Hawaii voyage Caribe deck were going that way. 6 tables / another 4 cleared rooms / Emerald Princess Hawaii 6/1/23 - 6/17/23 / couldn't or wouldn't tell me why but both forward stewards were masking that day) -

@Thrak if you have an upcoming Australia cruise, what are the gratuities? @Mary loves to travel are you charged $16 night? I am also asking on the roll call. Further clarification: the Australian cruise was initially a Sept 2020 voyage and has been redeployed 3 times. Could the gratuities be stuck at a lower rate or are Australian cruises at a lower rate?? -

11/23/23 Enchanted Princess 15 nights in E425 = $240.00 (16 night) 4/6/24 Royal Princess 21 nights in E421 = A$304.50 (14.5 night) Both cruises are Royal class obstructed midship balconies so why aren't the gratuities the same rate. Are they less in Australia? -

you can see it on the website under payments tab: Math doesn't work out. Can someone explain it to me? 21 nights in a balcony .... its 14.50 a day. Is Australia a different rate? -

Discovery E409 has table not footstool so I stand corrected. Still a large enough (for me) balcony. Forgot I used 2nd chair as footstool I've heard those mini-suites have a 'pretend' balcony but I'm not rich enough to find out. Must stick to obstructed balconies -

Oh wow!! I've only booked E403, E409, E421 & E425 on Royal Class ships which have the bumped out (hence larger) balconies with a footstool or table. Mental note: if I can't get one of those -- book another time as I use my balcony every day Also only book Caribe deck on Grand Class ships for the same reason. Larger balconies -
🙏 Unfortunately when I booked w/o EZAIR they were of NO help. But the airline counter was & got me in at 2pm instead of 10am. I had Princess transfers which was helpful. Immigration is really fast at LHR. Took less than 5 minutes last September. So that's positive

I'm weird. I wouldn't mingle with other passengers if I had anything contagious. That goes for covid, noro, flu, chicken pox, etc. I've never had any of those but would quarantine if I did (well I had 1 case of the flu a few decades ago) -

If you book the hotel with Princess they'll transfer you from airport to hotel then from hotel to port -

Wow that sounds a lot more complicated that National Express to Southampton, uber to hotel (i walked the 2 blocks but sounds like you might not want to), uber to ship. FWIW uber from Moxy to ship was just £5.98 inc tip -
@windsor26 glad you found it Adding; @EDVM96 I'm on Samsung S9 .... no computer or tablet. Equally weird how 1 android has it but not another. Its on the bottom of the last page I took that screenshot while posting my response so thats how mine looks right now

Maybe I could use it as a foot stool on the balcony? You could except the staff use it as a place to put the food trays they deliver for those being quarantined. If you have a balcony you should have your foot stool
