Maybe you really prefer that...but most people like a degree of "privacy" when it comes to enabling anybody to "direct contact" you with potential spam and/or unwanted messages.

Welcome to Cruise Critic! As you leave the ship there *should* be a clock stating what the SHIP time is near the gangway. ALWAYS make note of the proper ship time! It *should* be the same as local time...but the ship is going to LEAVE based on ship time! Don't be the next YouTube stars doing the "pier run"!

It's the new generation of marketing majors they are bringing on board (my opinion). It doesn't appeal to the younger generation so they feel they need to "do something" to "save" Princess.

And don't forget...you can open a browser on your phone and browse to: shipname.princess.com Example: royal.princess.com You'll get the "old" ship system (which I *suspect* is what feeds the App) in a more text-oriented layout. Much easier to read than trying to find anything with the App in JourneyView. This does NOT require an internet package...it's delivered via the ship intranet.

I'm surprised that you were able to get any good viewing done if you were in a lounge chair! My experience was that anyone trying to view in such a manner would have their view totally blocked by the "rail-standers".

We are on this cruise as well...we're doing the Princess transfer from Victoria Coach Station.

We did that one several years ago (waaay pre-pandemic). It was interesting. I'd almost forgotten about that until you mentioned it!

Sorry you had issues...I can't imagine why it was such a problem but then I "wasn't there". How much luck you have with a chat session is totally dependent on what you're trying to do. The chat reps are not empowered to do *everything*...and it sounds like maybe this is one of those things that they can't. None of us can really comment on the "conversation" because were not privy to it...but look at it this way: *Maybe* this rep was trying to go above and beyond and take care of something that they were not trained for. I know that *I* would not want their job...literally sitting at a keyboard/screen and typing all day long! 😟

There have been a few members here who have stated they got extensions...but just as many who were not able to pull it off. Give it a shot...the worst the can do is say no.

I rarely wear a tie but quite often will wear blue jeans and a "somewhat" dressy shirt (i.e. button down)

Well...technically yes. But on a previous cruise (A TA) where one of the Roll Call members just happened to be on the cruise just prior and was also booked on the TA...she was able to get advance bookings for a rather large group who were joining the ship for the TA. I don't know how she did it and I did NOT ask questions! That was our first Winemaker's Dinner and we've since done it two more times. Have yet to do the CT since we feel we get so much value with the WD.

Amen Brother! Equally annoying is that whole two-factor auth they force you to do when you just want to tweak something! 😠 DW has an iPhone; constantly makes fun of me when I occasionally have issues with my Galaxy phone. I just smile and nod my head...

I don't think there is a "set" day for this...different ships may handle these types of schedules differently. You'll probably not get an answer until you are on board. Plus...it is reported that menus fleet-wide are about to change anyway.
