Did a quick check with Lyft and it was $50-$85, depending on size. Time to get there is very dependent of time of day, day of week, etc. mac_tlc

We just got off the Beyond a couple weeks ago and our Retreat experience was the same as it was in 2022 on Edge and Apex. I had a paper copy of the Luminae menus from a couple years ago and compared them to the menus on Beyond. Virtually identical. Same number of choices, maybe one starter a bit different. Plenty of severs in Retreat Lounge. Butler and stateroom attendant service was no different than last year. mac_tlc

I’ve met one of the two vloggers that are running a group cruise that week and he is a really nice guy, very unassuming. Their group is organized by a TA, so maybe the holdback is real, although I doubt they hold a lot of suites. In any event, I’ll be there and let you know—- couldn’t pass up the price. mac_tlc

I purchased an open future cruise voucher when I was on the Beyond 1/29 sailing. The reservation is dated 2/5/23, and I received another email from Celebrity on 2/13 showing the terms. Both clearly said I have 1 year to choose my cruise. The pertinent part of the T&C : A Cruise Later reservation does not guarantee stateroom or sailing availability or cruise price until you convert it to a confirmed booking by selecting a ship and sail date and paying all required deposits. It must be converted to a confirmed booking within (1) year after the Booking Date in order to be eligible for the future onboard credit. If not converted within one (1) year from the Booking Date, you will not receive the onboard credit and your deposit will be refunded. mac_tlc

We were just on Beyond in SS 9154— no banging😂. This is definitely a “people close to the port” special. Leaves on Easter Sunday and the airfare is sky high, pun intended. Having said that, I had to book one— have until tomorrow for FP. We will drive from CT, we were planning a spring trip to FL anyway so this may be it. Or it may not. I’ll know tomorrow. I’m probably in the minority, in that I watch most/all of the webinars. I like seeing new places to go. This one was very good, having all the captains there. So many places, so much food. Maybe I’ll see Captain Tasos’s wedding on Ascent next January😂😂. mac_tlc

Had one at the Mast Grill on Beyond last week and it was terrible. About 1/3 the size of the bun, thin and overcooked. mac_tlc

We have done it and would definitely do it again. To us, it’s no more “ one and done” than Chops or 150CP. Their menus are the same every time you go too. mac_tlc

Since the soup was chilled, we decided against it. Definitely would have tried it if it was warm/hot. mac_tlc

Ha Ha. My wife has never said such a thing! But I have, I usually have the non-chocolate option. She did finally try the Chocolate Pill from DB’s menu and it was meh. mac_tlc

Our waiter was Gerald from the Philippines. He has three more cruises until his vacation, so one more after yours.

Just a few more random thoughts on our week on Beyond. Our butler was Maria. This was her first contract with Celebrity. Previously she was a butler on MSC in the Yacht Club. The layout in Luminae is better than Edge/Apex. It seemed less noisy and a bit more spacious. We sat at either the same table or same area every time we were there. Generally in the circled area, although the tables are not as shown. We had the same waiter every meal. By day three the bar waiter had our Bourbon and Peaches before we got a look at the menu! The retreat Sundeck has a lot of shady areas. Unfortunately none of them are around the pool. Still a welcome change over Edge. I thought I would miss the outdoor section of the retreat lounge but it’s nice to be totally enclosed with large windows. The Club, during the day is much brighter. There are windows on the same wall as the bar on both decks that bring in a lot of light. As I stated before, the Sunset Bar is a wonderful improvement. For those of you who know/follow certain crew members, the maitre’d of Luminae, Petre, will be bring out the Ascent. He also runs LeGrand Bistro. mac_tlc
