Thousands of meat pies, sausage rolls (sargents) , fish etc. Crowd for opening of parliament in Canberra was not as big as expected, thus over catered. Rumours say the food was buried in Queanbeyan Tip, others say they were buried with foundations of the Treasury Building, so the foundation of our economy could be a Sargents Pie.
One would of thought the food could have been given to local charities.
Ah ye olde Iberia, I met my late wife on that ship, mid 1970 when Iberia was out here. Sailed from and to Sydney, Solomon Islands, Rabaul, Lautoka and Suva. Grand old ship. My workmate and I were in a 4 berth ..bunk, inside cabin, toilets, showers etc down the corridor. I was probably on F deck, lol.
Great trip.
OK Cruisers, I was in my local Bunnings yesterday, a rare trip out for me these days. Anyway, at the checkouts they had a pile of RAT's tests, with a sign 'free - limit 4 pp. I was told by checkout chick that the Western Australian Government had ordered zillions of RAT's tests, many of which are now nearing expiry date and to get rid of them they donated loads to Bunnings. Now are any of your local Bunnings stores giving them away? Handy for those cruising soon.
Coral Princess is my favourite Princess ship. Been on her 3 times..Alaska, Panama Canal and Coastal cruise last September, NSW/Victoria/South Australia.
Well Zero Bar and Grill, ex Donegans. Good but no where as good as Donegans, the oysters Kilpatrick were ordinary compared to Oysters Donegan. Steak was good, 400gm New York Cut but pepper sauce ordinary. Others said the pastas were very good. Service from the two wait staff was very good. Busy as bus trip in, 34 seniors staying at motel. I rate it all at 7/10, whilst Donegans was always a 9 or 10. But worthwhile trying it out.
For the information of you cruisers who visit Batemans Bay.
Thanks Linda, 75 today, just come back from a bone density test. Looking forward to dinner, but will it be as good as Donegans? Shea was excellent on the grill.🥩
Re the deck loungers stacked, I wonder if they were like that on the night of the incident? So easy to climb up on top of the stack and over the rails from a great height. As has been said, some crew member may be in strife.
