  1. Incorrect. The HVAC turns off when the window is down. The bifold doors are like closet doors, they do nothing. The trigger for the HVAC is in the window. The cold will take longer to enter the room when the bifold doors are closed, but the HVAC is off.
  2. I thought you were onto something so I checked my cards and I have a Landscape card fromt he Reflections which didn't have a magnetic stripe, so that has no bearing which type of card.
  3. There are seating areas throughout the ramp as rea in Eden on E Class ships. Some are directly opposite the panoramic aft windows, some are further removed. Check out these pictures. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2612138-quiet-mellow-spaces-on-edge/?do=findComment&comment=56299718
  4. BINGO. That's the #1 piece of advice for seasoned Cruisers trying out VV for the first time. I kept having to tell my husband NOT TO DO THAT as we boarded the ship and went to The Galley and witnessed the semi-service aspect of the food hall. My biggest criticism of the SL is the cabins below Suites. They are designed like a college dorm furnished from Target. Why in the world aren't there closet doors?
  5. How come you didn't get the really cool Celebration pin by Britto? You should go and get it exchanged!
  6. The Thermal suite on the E-class looks beautiful but lots of wasted space. A couple of the rooms are pointless - the Crystal Inhalation room for example. There are two steam rooms and I find it strange that the one labeled Turkish bath is warmer than the inhalation steam room when it should be the reverse. On the Beyond they increased the communal shower area which is another wasted area. The tile loungers are the most popular feature. I wish they had a traditional Finnish sauna in addition to the infrared sauna, they are two totally different dry heat experiences.
  7. We stopped gambling with NCL because of their stupid administration fees for comped cruises which added another $250-300 to the Port fees and taxes. No other cruiseline does that. In fact MSC doesn't even charge Port fees and taxes on their comped cruises, so totally free (deposit is asked for which is returned as OBC)
  8. Yes casino was tight. Nonetheless my husband won 4 jackpots. And we heard people winning 18K and 13K jackpots on our cruise, so someone's winning big!
  9. Did you instruct your TA to make a 7pm reservation at a particular restaurant each night or did they just randomly choose different dining rooms on different nights?
  10. So what happens when you log on to the app? You have to go onto the CArnival app, of course it's going to show you don't have internet connection
  11. I've never had issues with the Pixels and Carnival wifi. My Pixel 7 worked just fine on the Celebration, but it has to be in Airplane mode.
  12. Nope, surprisingly the gym on the Scarlett Lady is only OK and the gyms on the Celebrity's S and E class are much nicer! Best cruiseship gyms: Royal's Oasis Class & Anthem Class;NCL Epic;Celebrity E-Class
  13. That was not the case at Michael's Club on the Reflection. No snacks whatsoever, not even bar mix. Only the canapes delivered at a certain hour early evening. So at 7pm there were no snacks.
  14. You know that the Cloud Nine Spa locker rooms are available for all to use? It's downstairs a little ways on the left. Forget about locking the lockers; I was on the second cruise and the locks were already all messed up. Same thing on the Mardi Gras. Anyway, there's also a free co-ed sauna available to all. You go out of the locker room from the rear door and make a left, and it's down the hall on the right.
  15. Look at the walls of the individual cabins. You will see an indent which is where the bed is placed. When the indent is near the window, the bed is near the window. When the indent is closer to the middle of the room, the bed is near the bathroom, since the bathroom is in the front of the cabin but not drawn in to deck plan so the indent seems like it's in the middle of the room. See below.
  16. It's all about the stupid Spa raffle and accommodating the masses of people who step foot in the gym the one and only time to get one of 4 or 5 free treatments. Having said that the gym was open on the 11/21 sailing and I got my workout in just fine.
  17. Carnival doesn't seem to work with independent Junket operators. They do work with some of the land based casino companies whereby they issue free cruise certificates as promos, but no explicit tie-ins with major casino companies like Royal/Celebrity with MGM. The most popular independent junket company is URCOMPED.COM, but they don't work with Carnival.
  18. That's because Carnival's casino program isn't like the other cruiselines or land based casinos. Carnival's program doesn't have customer defined player levels/tiers. Obviously on the back end there is a ratings/ranking system but unlike Royal, Celebrity, and NCL they are not visible to the customers. So there's no obvious 'level' that one plays to attain to. You can gamble $20 or $20,000 and you wouldn't know what level you are at nor what offers you're supposed to be getting. The only way is to log on to the website and see what offers are in your VIFP account.
  19. At first I thought the vertical design was only for E-Class but the first post in this thread proves that wrong.
  20. Exactly. New vertical design has Aquaclass in blue with a lighter shade triangle on the right. Lower Level Retreat is grey with a light shade triangle.
