  1. I hope you have better luck than me or my DDs with slot machines. Five minutes of play for $25 was frustrating. I have found that I can get 20-30 minutes at least of play on the roulette table for $25. I bet in the corners where you are betting on four numbers. The return is 8 to 1 which isn't going to make me rich but I can play for a while and if I'm up, I'll throw a chip on one number for 35 to 1. I've hit that a couple times. Either way, I look at it as entertainment.☺️
  2. We are on Magic January 2023 with San Juan as a port. Please Carnival, don't take my San Juan away (like you probably will do with my rum🏴‍☠️) and leave me with Nassau😱
  3. Sorry for your loss but I have to say I LOL'd at the WEEEEEEEE!!!!
  4. More time to eat at Big Chicken and Emeril's!!👍
  5. I agree, an 8 day or longer cruise on Carnival would probably have fewer children and be less of a "booze cruise". Congrats on 40 years!! Have a great cruise!!
  6. I'll wear a patch over my eye and peg leg my way around the ship saying "arrrrr, me rum is missin', shiver me timbers! I'll keelhaul the scurvy knave who grabbed it!" Yes, I have watched too much SpongeBob Squarepants.🏴‍☠️
  7. I still have my bottle of rum order for my Thanksgiving cruise. Hope it doesn't disappear 😱!
  8. I went to The Krazy Lobster FB page and messaged the owner Mauricio asking if they would be open the day we were in port. He responded in a timely fashion and asked how many in our party. I do think you could just go to The Krazy Lobster without contacting them but it gave me a sense of comfort. Have fun and get a hour long massage for $20!!
  9. Great news! I'm still bringing my vaccination card just in case.
  10. I place money on the gaming table (roulette is my favorite) and my sign and sail card. The dealer (don't know the correct term) takes money and card, runs card through so I get credit for gambling, and passes chips in a certain color so you can be identified on the table. Let the dealer know you are new to gambling so you can get some instruction. It helps to watch for a bit before playing so you can get the hang of it. Have fun and have a great cruise!
  11. I double or triple up with my strappy tops on one hanger.☺️
  12. Hee, hee! The Queen Mary was "stumbling distance" from the party at the Spruce Goose, so that factored into our decision. Good for a girl in heels😅
  13. I almost always order one Indian Vegetarian entree for the table in addition to our other entrees. I think it's so tasty but I want to try other things as well.
  14. Just make sure your kids birth certificate is the one needed by Carnival. From Carnival's website: Birth Certificate Information The following are acceptable: An original or copy of a birth certificate issued by a government agency (state/county/city) or the Department of Health and Vital Statistics A clear, legible copy (photocopy) of a birth certificate that was originally issued by a government agency (state/county/city) or the Department of Health and Vital Statistics. The copy does not need to be notarized or certified. Birth Certificate Card A Consular report of Birth Abroad Internationally adopted children (under the age of 18): If the adoptive parent was not issued a birth certificate, we will accept as proof of citizenship, a Certificate of Citizenship by the U.S. and adoption paperwork. A Certificate of Citizenship is issued by the U.S. once the adoption is finalized. Guests may obtain a copy of a birth certificate by contacting: The Department of Health and Vital Statistics at: www.vitalchek.com. If the guest has laminated their birth certificate, it is acceptable.
  15. I second John Watling's. They give a free tour then parents can have a delicious pina colada (best I've ever had) and the kids can have virgin ones. A food truck is there if needed. Turn right as you exit John Watling's driveway and walk to the corner. Turn left and walk maybe a block. To your right you can look down a charming street with a chocolatier, a winery, a beautiful hotel and a cigar shop. After that, stroll on down the hill back to port. Have a great cruise! PS The Pirate Museum is dark but my DD's (at the time 6 and 😎 scared at first then delighted when they saw a stuffed goat. Go figure! We had fun that day as well!
  16. That New York Sour with the 1/2 ounce of red wine floating sounds interesting! May have to try that at Alchemy this Thanksgiving cruise! Thanks for posting the link🍸
  17. Awesome!! 2 pounds is great! Are you planning on reviewing the Scarlett Lady? If so, would you please post a link on this thread? TIA!!
  18. Awesome review!! And I agree that people working for tips should be friendly but what even impresses me more are people that are friendly that don't get tipped. When I would go through the McDonald's drive thru (bad, I know) when I could hear the smile in the "can I take your order" person's voice coming through the little speaker box, I'd turn to my DDs and say "that's good customer service". Then when I'd get my order and another person would look me in the eye and say "thank you" or "have a nice day", I'd roll away singing out "that's good customer service". And if they got my order right? Frosting on the customer service cake! So looking forward to your next review!!
  19. When DH and I were living in Los Angeles, we attended a formal function held in the Spruce Goose I think like 1990. We spent the night in the Queen Mary. I had never been on a cruise before so I thought "hey this must be cruising". Little did I know I would become a cruisaholic. 😅
  20. I know, I was mystified as well. Went to my library of photobooks I make for my cruises (especially when the DDs were little🥰) and there it was. Who knows why Carnival stopped at a RC island, but they did. Nice loungers!
  21. How was the steak? Big discussion on steak on another thread.
