I didn't book an excursion. I went to the taxi stand and got a taxi to The Krazy Lobster ($4 per person) then was walked to a table on the beach. Basically a DIY. There are vendors there but I felt they respected my "no thank you" and moved on. The beach massages were great and at $20 per hour, a bargain! Lunch was order off the menu. We split lobster ($20) which had rice, veggies and tortillas. Yummy margaritas were very smoothly frapped up. Easily got a taxi to take us back to port. Let me know if you have questions.

Be careful with your luggage wheels! Many lumps and railroad tracks to cross. It's doable but I'm usually hot and sweaty by the time I get me and my luggage to the car. Have a great cruise!

When we went to La Romana (at least 5 years ago) I didn't see much of anything but a big parking lot. Maybe something's been built up by now? My least favorite port, but then I haven't been to Freeport😉

Mom wasn't feeling 100% so we elected to stay onboard when on MG. Loved the relaxing time on Serenity even when it was raining. I have fun where ever I go. It's up to you😀

Krazy Lobster is great in Costa Maya. About a 15 minute taxi ride and it's very relaxing. $20 hour long massages on the beach. Yummy food and drink. Nets to keep out seagrass.

Last time I was in NO my DDs were 3.5 and 1.5 years old. Now they are 20 and 22. Gotta hit NO soon. Your hotel looks snazzy (thx cruisin*tigger for the pics) and the tour sounds great!!

Usually port because supposedly when the ship comes into port, the port side faces the port. Having said that, I usually book port so I won't get lost😉

And you can order appetizer portions of entrees, unless I read that incorrectly. I think that's a good thing!
