  1. What the letter should have said: Dear Guest, We are excited to welcome you onboard for your upcoming Royal Caribbean sailing! As you prepare to set sail, we wanted to notify you of an update to our daily gratuity charges. Since we don't pay our onboard staff a living wage and have started having real problems attracting employees it's up to you to bail us out. As of November . . . We thank you for your understanding and can’t wait to welcome you onboard! Sincerely,
  2. Cutbacks? 🙂 According to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_pasta Fettuccini is about 6.5 mm (~¼") wide. Linguine is flattened spaghetti. Someone in the kitchen appears to be pasta challenged.
  3. You can probably send help@cruisecritic.com an email citing your username and old email address. Explain your need to change the email on file and provide the new address.
  4. As I wrote that post I was thinking about the Great Painkiller Expedition. Would not have been nearly as much fun I suspect. 🙂
  5. Increasing compression level of stockings may help. Take alcohol neat or with water / ice. Drink mixes, sodas, etc. have very high sodium levels.
  6. Depending on the plan, one can usually use the phone as a wifi hot spot. It's should be fine for a couple of devices.
  7. It looks bold to me. Obviously platform differences.
  8. In fact "bold" in your post appears bold. It's just not that heavy a stroke. Look carefully, "bold" is in fact bold. At least on my Android table, in Chrome. 1. This is bold this is not. 2. This is bold this is not. Using the default font. #1 was achieved by typing "This is ", tapping B on the toolbar, typing "bold", tapping B on the toolbar, typing " is not.'. #2 was achieved by typing the entire sentence then highlighting"bold" an tapping B on the toolbar.
  9. YQB doesn't have US preclearance. You will have to clear USCBP in Newark. https://www.aeroportdequebec.com/en/search/faq?keys=Preclearance+&search=Search
  10. It was not Scopolamine that was discontinued. Rather the patch manufacturer stopped selling it in Canada. Scopolamine can still be prescribed in Canada. That said, I don't believe it is available in a formulation that is useful on a cruise.
  11. Much nicer looking dishes. One can actually recognize the gnocchi and nothing is swimming in sauce.
  12. It's more work tagging pieces allowed in the overhead bin. Would slow down check-in. While the additional effort and time might be very small, a bean counter is going to be multiplying by thousands in busy airports. Not that this should prevent doing so, just a probable reason why it isn't done.
  13. These days "colossal" shrimp are 16 / 20 per lb. 😨 Marketing loves alternative facts.
  14. Do you know that they don't! Good kitchens tend to observe basic health protocols.
  15. Kitchens have their own dedicated handwashing stations.
  16. There are some excursions that go into the jungle. Vaccinations may be warranted for some with particular health issues. Consulting a qualified doctor familiar with ones unique health issues is prudent.
  17. Don't presume that the number on the first voyage comprised everyone that wished to go. Having to reach Haifa in time was certainly a limiting factor. I understand there at least four more voyages planned.
  18. Could be as simple as an emergency phone call. (Some people do turn off their cell phones.)
  19. Had to smile when the CNN reporter referred to "Rhapsody On The Sea". She was standing at the bow, in front of the actual name. 🙂
  20. Alternate title: MSC REFUSES TO TAKE LESS MONEY - OUTRAGEOUS!
  21. It's easier to open an incognito tab (Chrome), private window (Safari), inprivate window (Edge). Cookie and data clearing procedures are different for each browser.
  22. It seems to me you should be angry with yourself for not being diligent in checking documentation requirements. Cruise contracts are very clear that the entire responsibility for having correct documentation rests with the passenger. It is unfortunate that NCL IT is not up to the task of coping with specific documentation requirements. That should come as no surprise. But what would you have been able to do if online check-in had refused the BC?
