  1. Simply have your hotel hold the suitcases till after lunch. You likely will be able to board before 2:30. Suites do get to board earlier, but Sydney has rules that are unique. We boarded about noon.
  2. It can vary depending on port calls. Easiest with anytime dining. Only wait is the first night as a bit chaotic and just after each show gets out.
  3. Simply ask for extra towels and hangers. Roll damp items up.inside a dry towel and walk on the towel. The garment is then 75% drier. Then hang on the line or using a hook. Putting items outside on your balcony is an excellent way to lose your clothing unless you bring clips to secure items to the chair. I note with the AC on items dry really fast inside your cabin. Jeans hung inside the closet with the door cracked dry for us in a day.
  4. On boarding day? Wouldn't a sea day be easier. Everyone is trying to get settled in and luggage is filling the hallways. Just a thought.
  5. Have seen flavored vodkas on some but certainly not all cruises. Available on 2 Alaska cruises, no on Med or TAs. It totally varies. Wife likes raspberry vodka and tonic. They found raspberry syrup. Worked fine. So maybe.
  6. Good luck. 20% is the best I found doing a Cruise Critic search
  7. Really. All FBC shows is a computer that says it is possible/legal. You have lots more confidence in FBC than many posters here.
  8. Lots of choices for cocktails if you are not picky about using super premium spirits.
  9. Are you asking why there is often incorrect information on the Celebrity website? Yes. We gave up and booked on board.
  10. Am laughing as my truck camper "sleeps 4". It is almost the same size as the cabin subtracting the bathrooms. I did tell my DW if could work if they did it like in the Navy and hot bunked.
  11. The horror stories on other lines are similar. Suggest cruising or travel probably not for you any longer. As a TA that organized large (50-200) groups traveling across the US; I have watched the hotel and motel service decline steadily along with group members often unable to "go with the flow" on even very small things. Where we dealt with maybe one issue a day 20 years ago it rose to more it 2019 and to constantly dealing with stuff in 2022. Thus said no more. Now am asked when will you do another group tour.
  12. Understand. Read my long post. After speaking to my contact at the executive offices I asked them what a STAR manager is and does at Celebrity. They book talent and coordinate transportation to and from the ship. Entertainers on Celebrity are housed in cabins generally only used by them. If an entertainer brings their family arrangements are made for veranda cabins. VIPs? Certain political persons and others who are highly visible are assigned cabins by Celebrity. They are rare.
  13. Another pretty dumb thread. For dinner in Blu you are required to wear long pants of some sort. Arrival without pants in a swimsuit, shorts or your underwear will likely get you turned away
  14. A prior post said it perfectly - it is survivable. Comfortable? Definitely subjective but not to me. My daughter said it perfectly after three 30 something friends shared - "Never again. "
  15. Lots easier to simply go to any MDR on boarding and let the MaitreD get you your preferred seating. Trying to use the app likely just frustrating.
  16. I totally understand. Two suggestions and a repeat comment. Your using the term flunkie for a CSR agent is not appropriate. They like yourself have a job with things they are allowed and not allowed to do. As for solving the issue, are you aware that Celebrity does not actually run the MoveUp program? Celebrity provides the inventory and X and the company have agreed on the computer parameters for accepting bids. Thus beating up.on a CSR was a waste of your time and mental health. Since you use a TA the issue unfortunately had to go thru the TA first. Then an immediate email to the executive office. While they probably cannot get your MoveUp, they can offer significantly move OBC or a partial refund. I received $500 over a more minor issue. Last, you agreed to the terms of carriage. Am sure you (and everyone else) did not read them. Celebrity is fully within its rights to put you in a cabin of their choosing without any compensation. I agree not fair, but letting executive office know what would be acceptable would likely be the best scenario going forward. I would request the penthouse OR $1000 fare reduction and stay in my current suite OR cancellation with all costs including air refunded. Just a couple ideas.
  17. Available on all ships at an hourly rate of $19. Only time it was an issue was on a Christmas cruise with several hundred children on board.
  18. There are similar gaps at several places on that and other decks. 9317 and 9319 for example. Guessing utilities, fire doors, ??? Avoiding? Why? A dead space would likely mean no noise.
  19. How would that be. Checkin usually begins about midnight EST/EDT. Convert to GMT and you have when you can check-in. Be aware it can open a bit early, a bit late or even a day or two late. FWIW have checked in a group with 5 cabins. Started when check-in opened. Finished the last couple two days later. All had the same time window available.
  20. Asked many times. Bigelow supplies the bath products to Celebrity. Some in dispensers. Some in bottles. Is it the same formulation for all cabins? No idea. Do know that we bring our own shampoo and lotion in smallish bottles
  21. Think someone else made a comment on this. Unless you absolutely positively want someone to do everything for you; book a hotel for 3 nights. There are also great Airbnb choices near the Vatican and Roman ruins. Need to get somewhere too far to walk - Uber is cheap and easy. You can visit what you want, when you want and do it for about half the cost. Also easy to book day tours with pickup and dropoff at your hotel.
  22. Go to either the cabin sticky at Cruise Critic or the Celebrity website. The setups are the same on almost every cabin. Either a drop down bed or a couch that folds out. The infinite veranda makes no difference. IMO opinion I would rather stay home than take a free cruise with 4 in a veranda on any line.
  23. Recently on a HAL cruise out of Amsterdam. Average age was about 50. Lots younger than our Celebrity cruise. Am sure it varies, but our HAL cruise was 14 days and that usually means older cruisers.
  24. No kidding. We're are Elite+. Do not live near a port. Would need dozens of cruises and years to get to Zenith.
