  1. The question would be are you a person who likes to spend lots of time in their cabin reading or just watching the ocean go by. In that case probably not a good choice. When near land you can certainly can go out on deck. One thought would be to have a cabin with a short easy access to an outside deck. Would make an inside better IMO. Have had an inside in Alaska. Like it as could get the cabin dark and it was always quiet.
  2. The rollator is not the problem. The accessible cabin makes especially the bathroom safer. Keep your accessible cabin
  3. Excellent advice. If something on board does happen ask for copies from the doctor on board and the security report. Have assisted others in receiving compensation while they are still on board by discussing with the Hotel Director. Easier in my experience to receive compensation for a non permanent injury on board.
  4. Think everyone will agree book it. You can cancell. A year out we also think about private excursions both as organizing and participating. Your roll call is the best place I know for participating or sharing if you would coordinate a tour. Good way to save $$.
  5. Times also vary as JWLane said. Port calls can move times back, special events can supercede events and of course extreme weather can change things.
  6. My TA still has cabins for your cruise in their group block. Release is 30 days out. Have been assigned a cabin months ahead and literally the day before we boarded. Varies big time
  7. Stock perks will apply way ahead. Applied it last week to an October cruise. Don't understand the tax free comment as you are receiving a discount not actual money
  8. Enjoy. Have crossed the Tasman when it was smooth as glass and also when 50' waves turned our ship around. Simply sat on the floor holding on to a post!
  9. Contact the head of the hotel if on still on board. If not contact hq for Princess. A heads up that if anything like this happens stay down exactly where you are and call for the doctor. When you contact them state the facts clearly with what you would like them to do. Hopefully you have a copy of the accident or security reports. As Princess is not US based you need to work with them in a clear factual manner on the executive office level - not a phone rep.
  10. Heard from 2 others on board now and the policy seems to be fleet wide. The explanation was issues regarding damage to door from tape, decorations that were a hazard and others "over the top".
  11. Tons of free renewals in 2021-23. May less this year because of that. They are also fully staffed. Renewals used to be a few weeks. Mine in January 2020 took 3 weeks. So seems back to normal.
  12. There will be an Easter sale followed by Spring Sale, May Day Sale, Cinco de Mayo Sale, Graduation Sale, Beginning of Summer Sale . . . . See a price you like? Book it. Can get reduced till final payment. We book group space with a TA so refundable deposit. PS, if the sales above don't sound great then how about Mid Summer Sale, 4th of July, August Sale, My Birthday Sale (21st of August) or ????? Prices are a function of supply and demand. Really simple.
  13. We gave up and called Princess. Several glitches. Princess personnel in the USA entered the needed info and ticked the box for reading the contract.
  14. Getting back to what I thought was the original question. Once on board is anything different the old and new app?
  15. Just remember the rule for cruiseship apps. Give them two (not 3 tries) then either forget it or call them on a weekday morning. We have boarded when just our booking confirmation twice recently and once had Princess fill in the information and provide me with a new password. Have also given booking number to grandson who did it for me! Not worth stressing over.
  16. No difference at Canyon Ranch near home. Suggest your better half could do a massage.
  17. Unless you separate the reservations and he lists his credit card, you will get the bill for all their purchases. Credit cards with almost no exceptions cannot be used on board.
  18. Need to use Stock Perks app. Easy. A photo of the trade slip or statement with other holdings blocked out uploaded works fine. Was verified in 2 days.
  19. Agree, but the accessible areas that are a reasonable distance from the ports are less than .0001% of Alaska. To see even an overview of Alaska requires renting a car and one to two weeks. Sadly one really cannot get very far from the ports except in Skagway and a bit in Juneau.
  20. Agree. It is really neat to be able to send photos. Unlike the OP I have never had an issue sending a picture. I do send in lower resolution and do try to avoid peak use times on board when the ship's bandwidth is divided by more users. Always am amazed someone will spend a few thousand to fly to Europe, a few more for their cruise then complain about $90 to get internet fast enough to send pictures to friends. Especially when waiting till the next port will offer a high speed connection. Anyone else remember when you mailed photos using an envelope and a stamp? How about calling the operator to get a long distance line?
  21. Lots of delays in delivery. Agree Princess ships too close to cruise dates. Still amazed why people put themselves through the stressful wondering if they will arrive. A lot easier to pick them up at the pier. It added about 1 minute each time to our check-in. Just started processing us while another person walked a few feet to the boxes of Medallions and handed us ours. Crazy to create what could be a hassle.
  22. As said, get with a passport expeditor TOMORROW morning. Probably 90% change you will not be allowed to board. This is really a simple requirement. A phone rep could easily have heard you say your cruise started and ended in the US and thought it was closed loop. It is not and any cruise stopping in Colombia requires a passport with 6 months anyway. You have time to get it renewed for a few extra dollars. Better than being left at the pier. Have used a courier service that cost about $120 and had passport in 4 days! Just do a Google search.
  23. Since it is a venue at the Sebring track unlikely anyone on board would know anything about it. Has had several sponsors. Think 2025 is sold out as well.
  24. Glacier Bay is absolutely the best scenery on a cruise ship. In Skagway rent a car from Sourdough Renrals(rent early as only a dozen vehicles) and drive parallel to the train to Carcross. Then visit Dyea and all the Skagway sights.. The best! Aqua on Celebrity is nice but only because of Blu. A bit like Orange on HAL. Food good on both, but wasclots better pre covid. Entertainment better on X. Despite 30 cruises on X would go with HAL for their itinerary.
