  1. Celebrity would assist you, but waiting till February probably easier. Just bring your receipt and your cruise statement if you have it. Calling Celebrity and giving them the details might make your February experience better. Bracelets if not a chain style and actually lots of individual square pieces held together by tiny 3 sided clips. If bent just a teeny tiny bit the clip will not stay put and you now have a 2 piece bracelet. Very expensive platinum and solid gold bracelets are held together the exact same way. Am guessing it was sizable. Agree there are probably better places to buy jewelry.
  2. Reliable or not, I would always say something to a food server.
  3. Have a store nearby that only sells hot sauce. Some 1000ish different kinds. Absolutely no problem bringing on your own. Was challenged and promptly opened it and shook a bit out. They agreed zero alcohol content. Just heat.
  4. Some of them do. We were in a cabin where the dividers did not open.
  5. There are a significant number of wines at $9. Probably 15-20. If they run out of one label they substitute another. Of course shampoo, body wash and conditioner is supplied. In most cabins it is in wall mounted dispensers.
  6. Welcome to 2022. We walked out of a very nice local restaurant where I wore a collared shirt and kakhis when a person wearing a "F...ing 49ers" t-shirt was seated next to us and his loud conversation began matching his shirt. Some things you cannot cure unless businesses enforce some minimal standards.
  7. Seems you have a first. Have never heard the exact number of covid cases announced during any cruise. Agree with flu it is impossible to tell on sight if a person has covid or flu. Am glad you feel safe. The problem on board is many who are covid positive have no symptoms and others to avoid quarantine do not self report. The chance of contracting covid is simply a function of the number of interpersonal contacts. On board you simply have a large number - far larger than we would have flying across the country. I hope everyone will being self tests and those who are ill will report. I suspect from the number coughing and hacking while walking down the corridors on board my recent cruise; that will sadly not happen.
  8. Unless it goes really the number of cases is never disclosed. The 3-5% level puts masking in place. On a recent TA cruise on Celebrity masking went into place at about 3%.
  9. Or easiest is sending an email to special needs as this is not part of dining.
  10. Agree with your thoughts except locals are always around except at a ship owned private beach. Just don't take expensive items on shore. No different in the US! Also don't be paranoid as theft is very very small even in places like Jamacia or Haiti for those that use common sense. While you will look like tourists; don't wear expensive jewelry (best none!) or watches. Don't wear a lanyard. You need very little on shore. The issue is the same on shore with snatch and grab thieves that will grab necklaces, purses and lanyards on the streets. Argentina, Italy, all the Caribbean and Mexico/Central America are hot spots for this activity.
  11. Interesting. I have a mini waterproof bag that will hold my phone, a credit card (I never take cash with me) and a copy of my passport. It fits in a pocket on my swimsuit. We also usually take a flip phone on cruises as I tend to lose them. Pictures are just ok but really don't care if I lose. In Puerto Rico thieves look for items cabled to chairs etc assuming if it is secured it is valuable - duh. They simply cut the cable. I haveca rotozip at home will cut through a 1/2" cable in seconds, fits in my pocket, is battery powered and cost under $20.
  12. I was part of a group of 550 on Princess some years ago. The room block had rooms for our group mostly together. For dinner people selected there own time to dine except the final night. MDR was booked for our group at 7pm. We also had areas set up for group seminars during sea days and a 4pm cocktail party in a dining room on boarding day. Except for the antique car they hoisted on board and the final night dinner you never would have known we were on board.
  13. Am glad that worked. Am also glad nothing went wrong. We ended up in Barbados when we missed our cruise due to a flight cancellation. 7 hours in the Barbados airport until the cruiseline and a person from the consulate came with emergency passports. Not good.
  14. There will be very few other teens. As an only child he can probably find his own things to do and probably a companion to hang with. I however would vote no for HAL or Celebrity etc. Average age will be north of 55.
  15. Looked at the other posts you made and there Certainly is WiFi in each port. You might need to go into town a bit for good service. Check with your carrier for a package deal. ATT has an inexpensive travel package. TMobile has free wifi and data in all ports you willvisit.
  16. The prices you are seeing do not include the discount. You need to call before cruising to get it. Have gotten discount off non alcoholic packages.
  17. Aqua amenities are different from the rest. If you want a tote bag and do not receive one in any class of cabin as your attendant. Same for feather pillows etc. We travel with a reusable grocery bag from Trader Joe's. Similar reinforced plastic full gusset bags all sort of places. Handy for flying or port visits.
  18. The medical protocols are different on cruises out of Australia- their rules - from cruises that originate pretty much every other country. Ditto for China.
  19. My grandkids who are late teens and 20s would rather be on Royal. They want climbing walls and similar stuff. They are not, however, into the Carnival party till you drop scene.
  20. It is not allowed for passengers since cruising resumed. Anyone downlining must be approved in a complicated procedure. That policy does not apply to disembarking due to medical emergencies. Wondering how you know the people are disembarking are passengers or are actually disembarking. On TAs when we port Southampton we always deliver a couple suitcases to friends. In Victoria same except they are our bags. We spend a day or two in Vancouver before returning to Victoria.
  21. We often see high end bags that are barely used at local auctions. Same with designer dresses, jewelry and watches. Even designer silk neckties recently.
  22. The large round table for 8 would be truly awful with 10 and unless you sit in someone's lap, impossible for 12. Have had large groups of 200+ and 6 tops work best as you can converse easily. The 8 top tables are difficult to talk to those across the table. The will take care of you on board.
  23. You do realize this thread is 4 years old!
  24. Procedure is different for non US passport holders. Fast and stillususlly easy. US gets the same entering the UK.
  25. Your roll call will have private tours already organized.
