  1. I used a search on the internet to get bids from TAs in effect competing for my business. Did this after my long term TA retired. Called three TAs and found one in Michigan - smaller - that called me back and has assisted with multiple bookings with group fares and extra OBC. Try the search to get competing bids. Only took a few minutes.
  2. Impossible to predict levels of covid. Mask requirements seem to be a function of number of covid cases on the prior cruise and length of upcoming cruise. On our last cruise we began with no masking then moved to masks in casino and theatre venues then back to masks suggested in 12 days.
  3. Was told there are website issues. Flights, Dining, shore excursions, pretty much everything need to call. As for flights in September of 2023 - probably not worth the effort yet. Had 9 changes in August flight to Iceland in 4 months..
  4. Not an issue. Simply make a copy of the email and if on your second day on board the OBC does not appear then take the email to customer service. They will credit your account very quickly. Our credit in August was there when we boarded.
  5. The HoHo worked great in Valencia. Again lots of posts in the ports of call boards.
  6. As Jim said this is the norm in Boston for several years. You hold up.your passport if from the US and pretty much walk off.
  7. Passengers would have tested a day or two ago. No cruiseline has shared numbers of those who were on a B2B and tested positive on board or called bin because of a positive test. There were a few (under 5) that tested positive in Reykjavik last August for Summit.
  8. Sign in good. Tried to book shore excursions and was told was impossible now on line. Call in on Monday. Website only partially up.
  9. Have always seen much more expensive to add later.
  10. What would you think HAL could do to expedite your claim? Everything has delays today. I would wait the 30 days then contact the insurance company.
  11. Why would passengers not be prepared? Emails are sent out to passengers on any cruise that has testing requirements. Those are pretty limited today. Australia, Transatlantic, and a couple longer cruises. We get regular emails for a fall TA that we recently cancelled. If you put in a specific cruise it gives any required testing requirements as of about 10 days ago.
  12. Think we can all agree that today this is a really bad idea. Leaving early without authorization will likely incur penalties that would include being not allowed to cruise for some months and likely a fine. Hope the OP finds a cruise that better matches his work requirements.
  13. We had similar on board a Royal Caribbean cruise. A father and two kids came to join the mother and 3 more toddlers. We asked to be moved after the first night. Getting on topic - if the RS is "party central" hope the butler is properly rewarded.
  14. Actually saying you cannot wear it sideways is an ethnic slur. Certain groups at home wear their caps sideways.
  15. Was told absolutely positively no in August because of Covid rules unless a medical emergency. Agree with Jim we did this fairly often in the past getting off in Victoria instead of Vancouver.
  16. Celebrity and Royal set their own Covid policies. They have often been different
  17. Wondering about a couple things. - the food recently has changed on all mainstream cruiselines because of cost and supply chain issues. What does that have to do with the age of the ship? As for being older - really? We love the M class ships from about 2000 as they are even smaller and dislike the infinite veranda design on the Apex and other new ships. None of the ships on Celebrity will appear as worn and tacky as any on Carnival. If you cruise to Alaska in ANY Celebrity vessel you will.have a great time in a well maintained ship while receiving service from a crew that try very very hard.
  18. Yes. I usually just buy it by the day. Full details on the website. Basic $20. Hi-speed $35 with discounts for Captain's Club status.
  19. Lots of ship traffic and those operations need to coordinate to allow windows for dredging barges to enter and leave the port.
  20. Definitely no. After you make final payment everything is fixed. No changes allowed
  21. Late September is the norm in Quebec City. Early October in New Brunswick. Mid October in Maine. Has varied by several weeks. This year St John NB color started 20 September and was still going strong early October. Some areas lost their leaves with the hurricane.
  22. Seems that is the best option for Transatlantic cruises that require testing. No guarantee of when or if OnPoint will be up again. We used them both - easy. No need for Emed.
  23. My DW and I are both over 65. She has several health issues past and present. We are both vaxxed and double boosted. We recently cruised and traveled outside the US for several months. On our Summit cruise many were quarantined and lots of others with nasty coughs. We did stay away from those who appeared ill while on board. Wear masks only when required or requested. Have friends who became ill with covid while in our residence earlier this year. I was recently tested to see if I had ever contracted covid - nope. Go figure
  24. If you book with a TA, are you aware that OBC from them will not usually appear in your account until you board or the following day? Seems a call to your TA is in order to determine the amount of OBC you have from Celebrity- which you can spend now- and the amount that will post after you board from your TA. Also remember canceling an activity or shore excursion happens immediately, but your account will usually not get the credit for about 48 hours and the credits are processed by a different department.
