  1. Forte is in business and appears to have production issues as many flavors are not currently available.
  2. The ocean moderates the weather. Never cold. Obviously weather and temps in the UK can be anything. April and October about the same in our experience on 5 TAs.
  3. TAs often have group blocks. You need to go through them. I found some agents with EX to be great and others awful.
  4. You also with a good TA can get a significant amount of OBC. There are good TAs and poor ones. Call a few and ask some questions. Mine finds group fares that get perks at the cruise only rate, refundable deposit and up to about 8-10% in refundable OBC
  5. There are several HUNDRED threads on testing including the sticky at the top of the forum. Proctored tests can be done from anywhere and are about $15-$20. A friend did their OnPoint test while flying (at 36000') across the Atlantic Ocean. We did ours on an island off the coast of Iceland. Yes, OnPoint was hacked but back up.and rumming a couple hours later. ANY government approved test will be accepted by Celebrity- US, Canada or Argentina or South Africa. And yes you need to give basic personal information. How else do you get test results that are yours? A driver's license suffices.
  6. Comped, TA rates and other rates not available to the public do not qualify. The policy is available online if you want to look.
  7. As said send the email to special_needs@rccl.com Have done this a dozen times. You can also call Celebrity. The concierge reps want to help but they need to go through about 5 steps to do what you can do with one email. One can also make the request when you make your booking if made directly with Celebrity
  8. Not sure how high on the "get it fixed" list paper cups vs mugs rise. Think Celebrity is trying to source food, liquor and employees.
  9. Absolutely. Years ago the amount of food left on plates to be thrown out was staggering. Shrimp cocktails with 8 shrimp were half eaten. Today they serve with 3 or 4. Great. Want 8 or 12 or16? They will bring them to you. Just ask. Ask for quality, we recently noticed cheaper cuts of meat and fish. Disappointed in being served 1/2" thick steaks. Would rather have a smaller but thicker piece. Miss the halibut etc. But understand the reason.
  10. How do you suggest that Celebrity do that? Have 2 call centers nearby in Tucson. Both have had turnover reach 200% a year. 4X that of precovid. They also are stuffed at about 75%. Everyone is in the same situation. I found an excellent TA a while ago. They can provide the service you are requesting. You just need to find one.
  11. No difference than with the proctored tests using your phone. If you think about it they were actually on the honor system too. On our Iceland cruise we were asked to show photos of covid cards, then asked if we had negative covid test results. Said yes
  12. If booking in the shoulder season or live where you can get to the port easily and are not picky about your cabin - wait till the last minute. Middle of July etc then book immediately. The key is to book paying a price that makes you happy. No way to predict future prices. You already said what usually happens.
  13. An enhanced DL on a closed loop Caribbean cruise is fine until something goes wrong. Sickness out of the US. An accident or ?? Then you are dealing with the US Embassy. Not for me.
  14. The proper question is how much is Aqua class worth to you? Factoring is the AI fares consider - Need a few extra Captain's Club points to reach the next tier? Is the spa benefit for you or not? Do you think Blu is worth some?? For us Blu is worth about $75-100 a day each. The rest have little of no importance to DW and self. There are no downsides that I am aware.
  15. And the Panama Canal just changed its requirements this week. Cannot count on things staying the same. . . . . or on board.
  16. We email special needs. Just need to do it a couple weeks before you cruise. Whatever you need is taken care of
  17. They will take whatever you check at the pier. After u board you can go directly to your cabin and drop off your carryon stuff. How much cash? Only place to use it is in the casino so depends on you. You can use OBC for promo chips that must be both bet and lost. You get regular chops for any winnings
  18. OBC from a TA is usually posted on the first business day after you board. Again do not understand why many do not have a copy of their invoices from Celebrity AND their TA. Sorting things the next day is then easy.
  19. Back to the original thread. Spent 3 weeks in the EU. Never needed any local currency- ZERO. If you want use an ATM on arrival and get a very small amount of local currency. Currently in Canada and exactly the same. One shop owner said only "old people" paid with cash.
  20. Doing a VAT refund at ports is difficult to impossible. At Civitevecchia good luck at finding someone. Recently in Reykjavik at the port we greeted with blank looks and told to mail the stuff. They had no idea where or how. Someone then said Greenlandcwas our final EU port. OK. . . . then what.
  21. Doesn't matter any longer as they are both finished. After 48 hours you can cancel and rebook.
  22. Wrong forum. There is an entire section on cruise insurance that am sure you know exists after 10000+ posts!
  23. The rules for covid make stopping toward the end of your cruise very very difficult to impossible . Really no difference from Brits that cruise Buenos Aires to Antarctica because of the Falklands with about half the cruises unable to tender in.
