  1. If a martini is $15.50 you would pay Sixty Cents. In August most martinis were about $9 (a very few) -14 (big selection)
  2. The decision about masking is made on board depending on the number of covid cases on the prior cruise, length of the cruise and any local requirements. You will not know about masking requirements until they are implemented. Seems lately that many two week cruises start with no masking and masks are required after cases reach a certain number.
  3. No free cookbook. Great meal. Agree that it was very noisy.
  4. The tags you can print out from the last page of your edocs are awful. Unless you print them on something other than regular printer paper they easily tear off. Paper stapled together is a bad idea. Always was. We put a string tag on each bag with our cabin number. Last two cruises there was a volunteer at a table tagging bags. We then handed them to a porter one cruise. Weput them on a luggage cart ourselves the other. Did not delay anyone
  5. It is different than 5 years ago. Today it is moveup. This is a VERY different process. You make an offer of what you are willing to pay. It is then either accepted or rejected. Not really bidding.
  6. Welcome to Cruise Critic. Interesting first post. Sad you would let an experience with Italian customs ruin your cruise experience. Our daughter has an Italian passport. She breezed thru customs. We did not. They wanted to examine everything to see if duty was owed. Just like you, I think we were selected because we had a couple of expensive name brand items. And yes, it took over an hour. Nothing is efficient or easy to accomplish in Italy. I understand a complaint to Italy, but surely you understand that Celebrity or the United States government is not involved in how Italian customs does their inspections. A question. . . How was your cruise? Do you have a "review" of your experienceon board?
  7. We have always emailed Celebrity special needs 4-8 weeks precruise. As for boarding, it depends on the port. Most US ports precovid would assist by moving you to the front of the line - especially with a walker - and call for a Celebrity person to take you from the terminal up the ramp. Remember the port, not Celebrity, handles things inside the terminal; so depending on staffing help or preferential checkin might not happen. Hopefully she has a folding wheelchair for on board as it will need to be stored inside your cabin and very difficult if it doesn't fold up.
  8. Think the OP was actually asking about getting chips using non refundable OBC and then turning them in for cash. The promo chips need to used in the casino. Regular chips can always be turned into cash.
  9. The high-speed wifi is because of the casino offer/play. It has nothing to do with his Captain's Club status. Only Zenith offers free internet
  10. Huh? Was sold out in 2019 and 2017 pretty much when announced. The required Ensenada stop always fun for a few trinkets. Celebrity obviously decided it was more profitable to deploy ships elsewhere.
  11. Is turning the Best Western hotel a few blocks up the hill from the cruiseport into a homeless shelter part of the new San Pedro?
  12. The OP asked about testing positive on board. He obviously has a physician's report. If he incurred other expenses regarding his cruise they would be reimbursed according to CC reports in about 6-8 weeks. He did not mention having any expenses.
  13. My wifebrings her laundry service with her. Me. Sorry do not accept the "offers" I have received to do the laundry of others
  14. And the type of cabin as different in some suites.
  15. The above are interesting but there is an entire forum on Trip insurance. Read a bit there and call the Insurance Store. Ask and listen.
  16. You certainly could cancel and rebook. Again when is your cruise?
  17. A 3ltr box of wine counts as 4 bottles. Sad when posters suggest others break the rules
  18. Antigen tests are those like the free iHealth tests the government sent out. Fewer positive tests for weeks on end after recovery than a PCR. You self test on a FLL cruise and maybe nothing at all. Agree getting a COR. Good insurance.
  19. Larger sized robe- Yes. Will it fit a large very tall man- sort of but will look pretty silly.
  20. Worked with a photo of my digital card. Have photos stored in my phone of our covid cards. As said just uploaded them to the app. Have never been asked to see the originals by anyone. All were happy (at various borders, airports and cruise terminals) with the photos.
  21. Am in the wholesale wine trade. The problem for Princess obtaining better wines is a very difficult distribution system. They cannot simply buy from the winery or a wholesaler, but must buy from wholesalers where they will take delivery. Thus Florida has different suppliers in Miami vs Tampa and NJ/NY again different. As for overseas, the winery must sell to an importer who then in turn sells to the cruiselines. Production is down due to both weather and a shortage of pickers. Lots of good to great wine being machine harvested and being packaged by "Chateau Cardboard " aka Black or Bota Box. Thus if you are say a Napa vineyard that has 10K cases of a $20 wholesale CabSav would you rather sell it to some 30 wholesalers and importers OR simply sell it to Total Wine or Kroger who have set up their own wholesaler?
  22. As others said - a 4 day cruise on Celebrity attracts a very different group from 7 day or longer cruises. The longer the cruise the older the cruisers. The rowdy Carnival atmosphere simply put would not be tolerated. Nobody overserved etc. Come back but make it a longer cruise.
