  1. Purplsmurf- I have answered multiple times. Very politely that ArriveCAN is an app. Celebrity is an app. They have nothing to do with each other. But both are required. That is why I kept explaining you and your DW need to complete it. Your adult son and niece each need to do it as well on their own. You each need to show it to CBP in Canada. Others as well sent you copies of the Government of Canada rules. What is important is you will not be allowed to board a cruise that ports in Canada unless you ALL complete the app. Nobody has ever done ArriveCAN before it is new. Hope you figure this out. Possibly your son or neice can help. Happy cruising.
  2. Think you have a plan going forward. An email or two - don't waste your time calling on a weekend - to the top AND the credit card dispute are the actions. Give them the facts short and sweet. Copies as an attachment of your cruise and air booking and payment. Keep you note free from any emotional comments. Tell them exactly what you expect them to do. Make sure the paperwork shows both the original ABC confirmation and amount AND your payment at the airport. Things right now are chaotic at best. Do not try to find fault because it could just as likely be the airline made the error and misapplied the payment. Agree with the host - until things settle down book with the airline. If you really want an airline consolidator booking becsure to verify that you are ticketed with the airline.
  3. If you want to just call - no video - Talkatone is an app that gives you a second phone number. You can call anyone in the US using WIFI free. The other person does not need to have Talkatone. Thus you can call businesses etc. Talkatone has been around for many years and has relatively cheap calls to other countries. Rates on their website. The only downside is you need to use it once every 30 days. I simply call weather in my home town.
  4. As said Celebrity will reach out to you. About 80% of phone reps are new and thus pretty useless. They are also bombarded by thousands of silly calls that could be answered by wandering through the website just a little bit.
  5. Again you can use ANY government approved test. Simply order or buy a few at a chemist. Presume the UK also has a program with free tests. In the US we can get 8 per month. A proctored test is far easier. Just do it on your phone - can probably print it at a hotel a printed copy not required. And check out the company website to make sure you have the required app to make it easier.
  6. No benefit to buy a 3 year old product on board. Lots of ways to spend OBC and if some is from your TA and listed as OBCR it is refundable.
  7. Call Captain's Club or email the executive office. Simply state the facts briefly and clearly. Ship, date of cruise, dates of confinement, booking number. Executive office has always has a rep call me back within a couple days. There're at least three other threads on exactly this same issue with contact details FYI
  8. If you bring wine on board and it is found in your luggage you will need to go to the "naughty room" to get your luggage. They will KEEP the wine until the end of your cruise unless you are lucky. Always in your carryon.
  9. Far easier to use your tests from home. There are a couple Canadian companies doing proctoring (doesn't matter US or Canada for anyone) and OnPoint and Rapidtestandtrace.com are two companies doing 24/7 proctoring with a US address. Both are under $20US
  10. You absolutely need to do it on a phone because about 10 days ago the app was updated. If you submit with an old version it will be rejected. Again if flying to Canada submit a couple days before your flight. Then after you are in Canada open the app and check you are on a cruise ship. All the personal data is saved. You only need to click on marine travel and enter the ports. The newest version updated entry ports for cruises. Purplesmurf. ArriveCAN takes about 10 minutes on a phone if you have your Covid card and passport to set up. The setup includes NOTHING about your cruise. Your son will need it on his phone. Same for your niece. Just click on traveller at the bottom to enter the photos and info. Then enter cruise ship ports and dates just before you board. This is not rocket science.
  11. Today you actually won't know until you are on board. Lots of supply issues so you would have a choice within a price range of what is available on your cruise. Absolutely agree with you. I would not purchase the package today. Just my opinion.
  12. I'm happy for you. Doesn't change the fact they are on the banned item list for you to bring on board. That was the question - can I bring what in effect is a hot pot on board?
  13. The date appeared a week or 2 before checkin began. You now know it is approximately 45 days before sail date. Do you still need more information? If so what?
  14. Not available in any of the three stores I was in today in Tucson. Lots of Kahlua but only small bottles and 1.75l. Things are in short supply.
  15. Prices for specialty went up a few weeks ago. You can call and ask or try on app but think leaving it probably best if a call doesn't work.
  16. They will make anything you like. As said simply with well brands instead of call. The well liquor is not store garbage.
  17. Great for browsing menus. With having WIFI I have been usually successful at sending text messages to friends on board. The issue is neither of us want to carry our phone around on board. On shore there is WiFi and a good 4G signal almost everywhere in Iceland and great phone service in St John's and Halifax will WiFi at the port terminals.
  18. Do you think that will happen anytime soon. Lol. I always use a TA that ties into group space thus always refundable and extra OBC.
  19. ArriveCAN has NOTHING to do with Celebrity or the Celebrity app. It is required by the Government of Canada. The app is a free download best completed on a smartphone. Your adult son and niece do not have covid cards or passports? Can they take a selfie? If all of you do not complete ArriveCAN you will not be allowed to board
  20. Multiple threads on this it is taking about 3 weeks. They are doing those with sail dates nearest today. Relax. If it doesn't come through simply bring everything to the pier. With cruising numbers doubling since April, Celebrity is losing the battle to approve these in a week or less
  21. Your son and niece will probably need their own. Why would they not know the information about the cruise? It only asks when does your cruise depart and where. Also where it ports in Canada - St Johns NFLD. If they simply show up without ArriveCAN completed and a negative covid test they will not be allowed to board.
  22. The passengers tend to be a bit older. Far less children. Buffet at Celebrity is excellent. Only thing we like better on Royal was Diamond lounge. The deal breaker for us is anything near the casino reeked of cigarettes. Not just in the casino.
  23. See you cruise Royal. Nothing like the Diamond lounge on Celebrity. On the retreat as said for suites.
  24. There are kettles on cruises from Southampton. Supposedly otherwise not allowed according to the list of items not allowed. They certainly are not allowed in a Veranda cabin. Your butler might have quietly gotten you one being in a suite
  25. Calling does not help. You need to provide evidence of the cruise. Anything from a paid credit card billing or something from your cruise will get it taken care of. Email or snail mail the request and documentation to X.
