  1. Or any government approved test proctored by any proctoring company. As of yesterday the US government WAS supplying free tests. What they are no longer doing is paying for testing - very different. If you are not going on a cruise why do a proctored antigen test from Emed or another company? A free test works fine. Same kit.
  2. If one refused to relocate they per the cruise contract would likely be thrown off at the next port.
  3. You need to take a trip to the US. Likely not too far.
  4. The governments in the US and Canada will still send you tests FREE. It is the testing process that may or may not be free. Proctoring costs as little as $14.99. Cheap. My county health dept offers free PCR tests for those with symptoms, but these don't work for travel as 2-3 day results. You might get it done for free, but spending a few dollars is insignificant compared to the cost of a cruise.
  5. Do the math. Ifcyour flight is not delayed, cancelled or time changed you should arrive in front of the terminal about 3pm. It is AT LEAST a 2 hour drive so 5pm possibly. You need to start checkin by 5:30. Certainly will be a challenge with so much beyond your control.
  6. Jim just spoke to Celebrity about an issue on another cruise. Gangplank up at 4pm for Iceland and all aboard at 3:30.
  7. I was told I needed to be "at the pier" no less than 90 minutes before sailing to checkin in Reykjavik. As said ask on board. Seems 60 minutes would be plenty to walk from the curb show your pass and walk through security.
  8. The "luggage tags" are the last page of your boarding documents. If you print on regular paper they come off very often. Tape one with clear packing tape to achieve suitcase and have the porters at the pier put the regular tag on each bag.
  9. Have always had a clothes line in my cabin. The suction or magnetic hooks come from Harbor Freight. A bit heavy twine and a bag of small plastic clips. Works great. Packs easily. Weighs almost nothing.
  10. Canapés? Really. We always tell our cabin attendant not to bother. Would rather put together a cheese plate or a bit of sushi along with a Strongbow. I always deliver at the "correct" time.
  11. Sounds like you are asking about a positive covid test pre cruise. Yes? You need to provide proof of that test to Celebrity. A self test at home is not sufficient. Need a proctored test.
  12. Any government approved test (US or Canada or UK or ??) can be used by Rapid Test or any other proctoring company. The results are certified for cruising. Rapid Test goes easiest if you download Microsoft Teams, but not necessary.
  13. Viv - you probably need to go to the Celebrity website as there are several things not included - afternoon canapés and shoe shines and several included including Blu (the reason we book Aqua if a reasonable amount over a Veranda) and access to the Persian Garden at the Spa.
  14. There are only a couple big box TAs that do not participate. One that has retail the biggest issue. I have a group fare from my TA. I did not get an invite so logged on and made a MoveUp bid
  15. Yes - reported several times. Just be aware that some countries and ports do not accept a certificate of recovery so you need to check for specific requirements for each port/country. Also make sure the letter from your doctors meet all the requirements. Some countries require a QR code on the certificate. Happy sailing
  16. Blu is the reason we book Aqua. A bit more upscale. Portions smaller. Personal service as the dining area seats only about 75. Again everyone has different preferences. Having Blu we often do not bother with the specially restaurants. Staff accommodates requests very well.
  17. You missed my point. All the new threads are discussing missing points and asking whom to contact. That information is listed on almost every page. No reason to wade through 200 pages unless you want to research every PUP offer and when those points were credited along with the answers to the questions etc etc.
  18. The local TA that books air travel for the University and several large corporations reported they were getting thousands of changes a month - an average of 3 changes per ticket in just May and June. Absolutely impossible today to keep up with notifications. WestJet cut 20% of flights for the summer. American cancelled about 1000 flights last week. Other that not booking new flights and telling passengers to check their reservations what can agents do? It gets really messy if a ticket is on multiple airlines as one change often creates downtime connection issues, but the computers do not always notice. Be flexible and proactive.
  19. No way to predict. With ships full and staff limited would not expect any huge discount on a package before your sail date.
  20. The quiz point for the Caribbean cruise will be credited in a couple weeks. Hopefully others can posts every day or so as there are three new Power Up points threads in just 2 days.
  21. Suggest you go to the existing thread on PUP points. Over 200 pages.
  22. Agree. Always walk off with your bags. When flying go immediately to the baggage claim so nobody else can take your bag.
  23. Summit does one port call and a second full day cruising close to the shore in Greenland. My daughter designed a route for me. It does Jim's Deck 11 & 12 route except adds down the stairs at the bow to deck 3 and back up. Told me I needed to stretch more. I try to do that one 4 times a day.
  24. If the OBC is from your TA it will not appear until.after you have boarded.
  25. Except for Eden easy unless on a holiday sailing. We always wait and book on board. Seems you got caught up in the recent price increase for specialty restaurants.
