  1. You want the app, not a website. Go to the App store and search shipmate. Looks like the full name is Cruise Shipmate. The icon is the front of a blue ship, facing towards you. Very helpful for keeping track, as long as you have all your old key cards, or even departure dates. It will populate everything else.
  2. You'll be in deep water and floating over protected coral beds the entire time you are in the water. NEVER put your flippers down or even try to stand, you'll damage the very delicate corals. When owner Dee leads the floats, she gives a very informative tutorial on dos and don'ts of kicking and flippers in order to protect the reef system.
  3. I agree with this, however, if bullies are not called out, they will continue. Chair hogging (and line cutting, for that matter), is the behavior of bullies.
  4. @2BSailin mentioned they were on your cruise, and the one I did on Celebrity had the exact same name as the one they booked. It is safe to assume that it is the same tour. Different cruise lines frequently offer the very same tours, same operators, although your particular date may be all passengers from your ship . It also may not.
  5. I took this tour off a Celebrity ship earlier this year and really enjoyed it a lot. I usually do private tours, but as it was my first visit to PP, I wanted an overview of the city, and it was a great one. So much to see and do, I was amazed and how affordable it was. I wrote some notes about it on the Dominican Republic board, in response to someone who inquired about cigar making opportunities there. @rgoldstein86, have you checked the Port of Call boards for the individual stops? That is really the best place to read about recommendations. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/456-caribbean/
  6. Yes. It’s only about a 15 minute walk back to the ship from their dock.
  7. Here are the responses from when you posted last month. Also, the island is called Nevis, not Nevins. Pronounced NEE - vis.
  8. Hopefully, it will go off at 8:30 as planned. I recall a past launch that caused huge problems because the passengers on the arriving ship would not get off the ship (a prime viewing spot, for those not familiar) until after the launch. The launch was delayed, as is often the case. I'll watch it from my kitchen window.
  9. This would be my recommendation. There used to be several extended reviews here, but after the stoppage, they have gone way down on the page. Not sure if a search will bring them up. I did this particular one several years back, and it was wonderful. I looked just now and she has several others, I'm sure any would be first class. The vehicle was a Mercedes van. As I recall, the owner's first career was as an educator, so her knowledge and information presentation was exceptional. https://karamboletoursmartinique.com/offres/pile-et-face-nord-caraibe-.html
  10. I posted this a while back in response to a cigar factory question, but it has information on a full day tour of the city. I was on Celebrity Constellation, but Grandeur probably offers it or something similar - same parent company. Mask info is probably out of date, but otherwise, it was a fun day.
  11. You'll be a half hour or so from the port, so you wouldn't be affected by any pre-cruise rush. Melbourne is not Orlando or Atlanta, certainly, but it is not Podunk, Texas either. There certainly should be drivers available. If in doubt, pre-reserve a ride for your desired pickup time That avoids any possible surge pricing, as well.
  12. I live fairly close, and park in the Radisson Park Port Canaveral lot. I try to get there around 10 and grab a good spot as soon as the previous week's cruisers leave. So if they don't start over at exactly 10 on the dot, it's pretty soon after. Certainly well before noon. Also, if anybody else needs this info - Uber will pick up at the Radisson or at the adjacent Parking lot and take you to the port, no problem. Radisson had some staffing problems very early after the startup (last November) and after waiting 45 mins for their shuttle to go over to the port, I called an Uber. Maybe 5 minute wait. Easy. They do designate and board each shuttle by cruise line and check in time, so YMMV.
  13. Ah ha - there's where the pp's confusion was. I tried Compass Bonaire just once. While the snorkeling at the marine park was good, and a change from Woodwind's Klein Bonaire drift spots, the captain, boat and service were nowhere even close to the same league as Woodwind.
  14. This is the aluminum bottle that Celebrity has provided since the startup. I liked them, water seemed to me to stay colder. They do re-seal so you can take them on excursions. After reading here about the possibility of water in zip top cans, I found a 13 oz. insulated bottle to bring along on my next HAL cruise in February. It's a nice size, not like some of those giant , all day mugs you sometimes see people carrying. The mouth is big enough to add ice cubes, if needed, but it's small enough to fit under the water faucet in the cabin to refill, if that's your preference. I found it of all places, in the back to school lunchbox section of a discount store. Now's the time to shop! So what if all that was left was one with glow in the dark dinosaurs on it. I'll stay hydrated and have a laugh at the same time.
  15. I posted this experience from before Covid, I don't have any post Covid info about it. I also was there right after things opened up last November, but we could not leave the waterfront area at that time. Maybe someone who has been recently will comment. I will be back myself in Feb, and hope it is running. I would definitely take the tour again. I don't have any photos, but if memory serves, it was a big red bus _______________________________________________________ I picked up an open air bus tour up into the mountain right in town. It was inexpensive, maybe $20 - $25. They were just down by the vendor tents. They had wandering salesmen trying to fill the bus, or you could just walk up and get on. It was a very nice trip. A woman narrated and answered questions the entire way, adding some personal anecdotes about hurricane survival, etc. We made a couple scenic stops - waterfalls and so on. It is stunningly beautiful up there, and so cool as you get above sea level and into the rain forest. It was around 3 hours as I recall, and definitely time well spent.
  16. You go through the port mall as soon as you exit the ship. Unless you pick up a cab or tour right there, it's the only way to get outside. Once outside, you will see the ladies in their kiosks. From there, follow the road to the right, and you'll see the the tunnel. The Carenage and "downtown" are on the other side of the tunnel. It's a wonderful town to explore.
  17. Yes, I realize that. Unsure of your point. I was not aware, however, that the Cocoa Beach shuttle also does an Orlando to Tampa run.
  18. Since it's non-cruise related, have you asked the question on Google? At one time I was looking for transportation from the east coast of FL to Port of Tampa, and several car / limo services came up as options, both east coast based and Tampa based. Disney provides pretty good customer service, you could also call and ask the hotel concierge for recommendations to get to the port from their hotel. I'm sure your situation is not unique. Any good front desk or concierge will have a list of frequently requested services to recommend.
  19. I'm assuming you are going to the Caribbean. Just know that many islands require the reef safe kind, and most boat trips prohibit sprays, since they are annoying in the wind, and make the decks slippery and dangerous. If you are not going into the water anywhere, or going on any boat trips, what type you use really doesn't matter. But, just this morning I saw a recall for Banana Boat (sold at inexpensive places like Wal-Mart and 7-11) due to a cancer causing additive found.
  20. Have you looked at this place? Owned by the same woman who owns and operates the very popular Calabaza sailing catamarans. I have not contacted her about a short term rental, but you can be assured of nice accommodations and fabulous service If not available, she can maybe offer other recommendations. https://www.starfishcottagebarbados.com/info
  21. I asked the same question last week, answers were a vague "before you sail". So I guess we just keep checking. I'm not going till Feb, so its at least good to know that not even January is ready.
  22. This is who I use. Owner Bobbie is a Canadian Pharmacist, very nice and helpful. They are downtown, quick cab ride from the piers. Email ahead, and she'll have your order ready https://cozumeldrugstore.com/
  23. This thread from a few weeks ago has all 3 menus
