  1. https://www.porttb.com/parking Best to go right to the source.
  2. That happened to my sister and I years ago. We still laugh about it . We were in port, so just called up to people a a deck above us who were out on their balcony. They called the front desk, who called the steward. Felt bad for the steward, he was so very upset.
  3. If you are talking about March 2025, check back in a month or so. Hotels typically release inventory 364 days out.
  4. I have something similar that I have brought for longer trips. Folds up and packs easily. Just saw some cheaper alternatives on Amazon also. I feel like a beach ball would require constant shifting of the feet. .
  5. @princeton123211 has it spot on. Get right off early, and grab a cab. In your favor is the lack of traffic at that hour (6:30- 7:00). Don't forget to head first to the Agriculture inspection at the airport before going to bag check. They will send you back, otherwise. They run the bag through a scanner and give you a sticker. Takes just a moment. While in no way recommended, I made a 9:30 flight once, with time to grab a coffee at the airport.
  6. You probably won't know till you get there, it varies. Point Seraphine is the little outdoor mall, and the Carenage is right in down town. Once docked, it is a simple matter to look out the window and tell where you are, if the Captain doesn't announce it.
  7. VInow dot com has info for all the docks.
  8. How are you docking there? I remember it as having a small pier, suitable for smaller boats. Plus, I don't remember much infrastructure, like a tourist entry hall. It's an interesting town, well worth a visit, if you enjoy history. Volcano stories are so compelling. If you are docking in Fort of France on a cruise ship, you are right in town. So, maybe 5 minutes, or however long it takes you to walk the length of the pier. ETA - wow, very old thread. Docking info still accurate tho, AFAIK.
  9. Hi, Did you happen to notice up there if the Roof Top Grill does gourmet burgers for sea day lunch? Some S-class do - I think maybe the Reflection...Delicious, and a great break from other crowded sea day lunch spots. Thanks for taking the time to report for us all.
  10. If you Google "Guavaberry liquor in Florida" , you get an exact map of stores that carry it. I find Google very helpful for non- cruise related questions like this.
  11. There are several different versions. If there is one that you specifically want, I would suggest you see the maitre'd (sp) when you board, and find out which menu will be served on which night. Regarding special requests (i.e. gluten), the whole dinner is choreographed and delicately timed. The only menu that matches the animation is the primary. They do offer the alternative items, but those will not match the show. I think if you have more specific request than the two offerings, this might not be the restaurant for you. YMMV, of course.
  12. Costa Maya is regularly cancelled due to high winds, tho I cannot confirm what you read this week.
  13. Yes you can go out of the gate, there is a row of vendors out there. I wasn’t looking for a taxi, so I can’t help there.
  14. This also results in more kids on the sailing, which may or may not be of concern to you.
  15. This is exactly what I do. It works very well, both for convenience and with budgeting. I also make sure I bring plenty of small bills with me for miscellaneous tips. It would never occur to me to use Guest Service agents as bank tellers.
  16. Waaay off topic, but there is a local bar that features an ax throwing area. What could possibly go wrong? You can't make this stuff up, here in Redneck Central Florida. Back on topic: I have seen one of those quilting cruises, which included machines. Just don't be tacky and take up a large area of the OVC like they did.
  17. https://www.cruiseconnection.travel/ https://book.thecruiseexpress.com/Tours/Cruise_Express_Florida https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/386-florida-departures/ Two bus options, plus the Florida Departures page here on Cruise Critic.
  18. A bit of pre Covid, pre hurricane trivia: For many years, and maybe still now, Mr. Tablecloth was the only store on that street in downtown Charlotte Amelie that was NOT a jewelry store. Post Covid / hurricane visits yielded a lot of empty storefronts, hope that has changed.
  19. The Aquarium is near Mambo beach, not too far, and a common destination. Grote Knip is all the way the top of the island, will be a pretty expensive cab ride - probably over $100 each way. There will be plenty of cabs, very reliable.
  20. This is 2024 - Wi-Fi is everywhere, including the entire mall on the way to town. You can even sit outside and access it if you don't want to sit in Starbucks or the hotel lobby.
  21. I've gone to JVD a couple times with Aristocat. They have a taxi bus at the port to drive you to Soper's Hole West End, then you take their catamaran over to JVD - although they have never raised the sails, always some excuse. You have probably 4 hours over there. You have to wrangle up your own group, they require 12 to go. They also have another catamaran that goes to different islands (I think Norman and Peter), which leaves from a marina just a few blocks from the port. If they are offering a trip to West End to get the scheduled ferry over to JVD, you can just do that on your own. Cab fare would be approx. $25 each way, as I recall.
  22. Glad I am not the only one who finds that poster's frequent derisive comments about cruisers unnecessary and not at all humorous. I have had him/her blocked for years, but still see the posts sometimes when quoted. @whee-sailing, don't bother asking. Poster has mean spirited little descriptions of cruise guests called towels and terds, and is happy to repeat them. Best to ignore him/her.
  23. Point here - the Noordam was built in 2006. 18 years is a hardly relatively new. By contrast, last year I sailed 21 days on the 2 year old Rotterdam, came home, and promptly cancelled my next 3 Celebrity cruises. Not negating your experiences, but mileage may vary. EDIT - just saw this is a very old thread. Nevermind.
  24. Unless you want to rent a couple SUVs, the bus is probably the easiest. Not familiar with the Red Bus, but check https://www.cruiseconnection.travel/rates/ Picks up in Ft Myers 7:30, returns 2:30
  25. Perhaps. But if OP can stop even one person from calling a magnificent ship something normally reserved for a pet poodle ("Millie" , "Connie"), then it is a good day, IMO.
