Agree entirely. However, I am 76 and on my 80th cruise. Wish I liked the different type of cruising on the new ships ( would save me a packet!) but I don't.
-
Currently on Arcadia. No pop up lasshouse, Sindhu and Ocean Grill "fully booked" for whole cruise, but apparently fairly empty. Lack of staff. Presumably because of upcoming refit. Cruise trimmed down. Price of cruise was NOT trimmed down though. Not good enough P&O!
-
Very hot everywhere on Arcadia now. Another thing for the refit maybe!
-
Yes. Pointless!

I have been Ligurian for many years and, believe me, there is virtually no difference from Caribbean. Nothing to get excited about!

Had a look at Arcadia and Aurora n̈ext year and 2026. Prices astronomical and some sold out. Savings going down, pension staying more or less the same, bills going up! Cannot bear the cheap ships, so, sadly, I don't think I will be cruising much from now on. However, I am currently on my 80th cruise so have not done too badly!

I like the vibration from the bow thrusters. Gets me out of bed to enjoy the arrival at a new port!

Returning to Arcadia after 8 years - what changes can we expect?

Still my favourite. Friendly and perfect size. Yes, she shows her age a bit (but so do I!). Having just endured Arvia (never again) I am so happy to be back on Arcadia next week. -
Not At All Live From Our (Probably) Penultimate P&O Cruise

Maybe, but wearing hats while working indoors must be a bit warm at times. -

I don't either. Everything is different on Arvia. Normal uniforms on Aurora! -
Arvia - I read the reviews and didn’t believe them, now I do

I was on this cruise and although I did not enjoy the ship, I think the food was the best I have had on any ship recently. I only dined in the MDR and found the service acceptable too, considering how busy the waiters seemed. -
Agree entirely with this. Glad I am not the only one. Arvia is the same!

I was talking about entertainment - not dining! -

Absolutely. Horses for courses. I have loved every cruise on P&O (over 60) except two - Iona and Arvia. I dislike freedom dining, crowds, noisy venues, pre booking everything and queues. Just not for me. Good job there is something to suit all tastes and requirements. -
Two things P&O always do really well - soups and ice cream.
-
Yes. Another resident performer. On Arvia now.

My money would be on Gareth Gates or Ray Quinn!

Shocking wait to get through to P&O
Fionboard replied to room with a view's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
No good. They just put you through to payments. Back in queue then! -
On Arvia at present. Seems to be a lack of sufficient staff in most bars. Long waits for drinks and tables not cleared. Dining rooms seem to be OK though.
-
Same with most companies nowadays. I blame the WFH culture we now have.

P&O Cruisers - What are things like where YOU are?

Just arrived in La Coruna. 26° and sunny. -

Used shuttle once in over 20 visits. Found walk down to centre much harder than along the sea front. Depends which part you want to visit, I suppose. -
Apparently, the old European Health card is still valid until expiry date.

The main gate and pedestrian area in Lisbon is actually a shorter walk from the ship than from the shuttle drop off at the top of town. Flat 15 minutes walk along the waterfront with plenty of places to stop and rest. No need really for a shuttle. -
Blimey, a pint of cider or lager in my local is £6. Mind you that is on the sea front.
