    That is the most entertaining terminal. Watched some macaws trying to undo zips on rucksacks and naughty monkeys stealing drinks from people. Hilarious. It is a destination in itself. The city tour was excellent. Very interesting.

    Xmas dinner on Arcadia was excellent. New Year one not so good but fireworks made up for it ! Great cruise. Booked Aurora for this year.

    We are effectively already charged for early boarding. Those in higher tiers and suites get priority because we have spent more money with P&O!

    I cruise almost exclusively on the two small ships. I prefer a more sociable, less crowded and quieter cruise environment as I am a solo traveller in my 70s. They also tend to do longer cruises. The main problem is that prices for cruises on these ships are very expensive compared to the big family ones. They are popular so usually sell out quickly.

    I have been offered a bid to upgrade. As usual though, solos in double cabins have to pay for two. Have already paid almost the same price as two. No thanks!

    Did this trip last year from Vigo. Lashed with rain all day. Soaked to the skin! Spent half an hour in the cathedral and two hours sheltering in a couple of bars. Would have been nice in good weather though!

    Boatyard is very crowded (too popular) and quite expensive to get in ($25 last time I was there). Need to get there early before it fills up. There are cheaper and less crowded places along that beach though.

    Worked perfectly when they let everyone in and gave them letters for groups, which were used to regulate boarding. I understand about the two big ships, but even for the small ships they make early arrivers queue outside. On the other hand, I suppose, people should turn up at their allotted time.

    Does yours expect final payment 90 days in advance, or 4 months like some of them?

    Agree. I always book direct now, or on board. May cost a few pounds more but P&O are actually easier to contact then the TAs I have used and only require full payment 90 days in advance.

    Welcome to the USA ! Makes you realise UK is not so bad after all ! After a couple of fly cruises to Miami I vowed never to do again. Hope things improve for you. Plenty of time yet.

    Walk through the tunnel to ' La carenage ' (the inner harbour), for bars and restaurants.

    Always get the local bus to Grand Anse beach. One of my favourites.

    Don't worry. Caribbean lunch is no different to Baltic and Ligurian. In fact loyalty benefits seem no different either. A bugbear of mine for years now!

    New cruise is 19 nights. On sale 18 January. Bet it will be expensive!

    Have done 17 cruises post covid and not received a single questionnaire. Just FEEFO ones regarding excursions. Have always been signed up for marketing, etc., so must be random.

    C deck is much better. Balcony is larger than D deck and partially covered. Normal size cabin though. C deck always sells out quickly.

    Used to be P&O Adonia and was very popular.

    Worst behaviour I have witnessed has been on Arcadia (including this Xmas cruise where a few were turfed off) and she is not cheap!

    Port at Fuertaventura is not very interesting. I can recommend the full day tour of the island with lunch. Amazing, varied scenery, very interesting and lunch was very good.

    Good summary. I have been travelling solo for a long time, all types of holiday, but exclusively cruising for the past 10 years or so. It is definitely the best option for solos, especially on the smaller ships.

    The new ships seem to be the destination (floating resorts) rather than the ports. The smaller ships tend to have longer, and more port intensive cruises (which I prefer, although much more expensive).

    WIFI on Arcadia at Xmas was noticeably better than before. Worked well everywhere, including cabin, and did not drop out.

    When on Arcadia, I heard that people were refused Aurora boarding due to some cabins (flooded during storm) not being dried out in time.

    Maybe on some ships but not on Arcadia at Xmas.
