  1. Agree no thanks to that large a ship, but great timing on you checking the webcam - very cool picture.
  2. Yep, that's the exact process I had. At PG, you just seat yourself where you please and then it's up to passengers to honor lining up in order when they call you to tender. For us, they were taking 40 at a time, so not everyone could go in the first group.
  3. Hey @TravelBluebird midnight is usually the deadline for getting luggage into the hall. Guest Services will happily confirm, though. Strange it wasn't in your disembarkation package. 🤔
  4. I've only had it enforced in San Diego. There are signs w/the times - pax are supposed to queue in the appropriate time slot. They checked boarding passes and were sending people to other lines if they were not in the right one. It was a nightmare. This was Dec 21 (last month).
  5. He's alive and well - spotted this month on K'dam Hawaiian cruise, lol. Or maybe that was Wayne Newton 🤔
  6. Yes, you should have received notice of the change. If you have a TA, it would have gone to them and they should have forwarded it to you.
  7. Nov on NS we had a port change fairly late the evening before; I think the announcement was made around 8pm. The new port was a tender port and we had outside excursion like you do. Our tour was scheduled for same time that we were due to be anchoring. The tour company waited for us and met us right when we got off the tender, which ended up being about an hour later than scheduled. The others from our ship that were also on the tour were already there waiting as they'd made the 1st tender, we were on the 2nd one. We had contacted the tour company to let them know about the change as had the other pax; they were aware because they monitored the ship itinerary. The new port was about half hour away from the original port, BTW. Tour companies generally a great job accommodating itinerary changes as they want you to have a good experience.
  8. There are also some large vases available to purchase. As @RuthC said, they'd be bulky in a suitcase, but my sister got a very cool set that she had Florist box up then carried on the plane. They looked like random shapes until you looked down on them from above- one was the shape of the USA. I don't remember the other; I think it may have been Holland?
  9. You definitely need to let your tour operator know of the change in arrival time. They monitor closely, but still your responsibility to let them know there has been a schedule change.
  10. This month on K'dam and last month on NS there were 3 meeting places for tenders: 1) Ship excursions met in World Stage at designated times then went in groups to the tenders. Pax w/o excursions - 2) Priority pax went to a place (K'dam it was PG, don't remember on NS) and were taken to tenders in order they had arrived at the meeting location. 3) All other pax went to a place (BB Kings on these 2 ships) to collect numbers and boarded tenders when their numbers were called. Our ship was full. Both times I did not have ship excursion so I was in the Priority group. Both times I was in the 2nd tender. It went smoothly except it was the honor system on lining up to head to the tenders since numbers/tickets weren't being used and it got a little messy.
  11. The vases are beautiful - you can also buy them in boxes w/o arrangements. Flowers are a great way to use OBC - pretty and smell good.
  12. Small world - my father really wanted me to go to Colby College. Not sure why - he didn't go there and I don't think we had any family that did, but he mentioned it several times. I was born in Caribou and he worked at a few small radio stations throughout Maine in the early 60s. I think had his career not taken him down south, we would have stayed as my parents really liked it there. Brutal winters, yes, but they both loved it.
  13. It did not work well. I don't know how they expected it to work - for me it didn't. I missed a lot of the early shows and the ones I did make were packed. Probably all the late diners (open or fixed) and on a full ship, it was hard. Late show didn't work for me since I had late dining. If they added a 3rd show at 10pm the late diners would have a better chance of making it and it wouldn't be so crowded.
  14. Oh what important days today - need some chocolate cake to lighten the mood a bit. The meal sounds good, would try the drink & wine, not been to the port. Today is PT and clearing off my work computer to return it. I don't keep many personal things on it, but I used it to transfer files recently in preparation for getting a new phone, so I need to do a thorough double check. That is very time consuming and I don't like doing it. Ordered dog food last night and decided I really need to change. At least for the big dog - he's 125# and at $90/bag it's like taking out a mortgage to feed him. 😒 Currently 46° headed to 54° so not much warmer. The rain finally stopped rhis morning after really dumping last night. Very, very muddy. 😒 Prayers and positive thoughts for all.
  15. Condolences for your loss. Just show up and let him be a "no show" if it's in his name. If you cancel him off, you will lose the rate that was tied to him. Once they figure out he didn't board, the port fees and taxes will get refunded, but it will not impact the rate. I hope you're able to enjoy your cruise and time w/your family.
  16. When I've had CO, it did revert to Open Seating. I went to MDR as soon as I boarded and got it changed. That way I could have the dining time I wanted when I ate it MDR but still had the option of CO.
  17. I don't know how I missed that you're in Kennebunk - we really enjoyed it last Sept when we visited during a Carnival cruise - very charming.
  18. Please update us once you've worked it out - we're very interested in seeing you get the proper credits and learning how you did it. It shouldn't be this hard 😞
  19. This month on K'dam and Oct & Nov on NS, World Stage show times were 6 & 8 pm.
  20. I don't know their names, but I could not listen to the duo that was performing Dec 21 - Jan 6 on K'dam; I honestly don't know if the man was good or not because the female was painfully bad and I moved on as quickly as possible. I tried a couple times hoping maybe she was having an off night, but it was never good. Solo, duo, or any number would be ok with me so long as they're good. I think HAL needs better interviewers in the entertainment department.
  21. @Bailey & Sophie once onboard, you can go to the dining kiosk that is usually on deck 2 by the Ocean Bar to make Pinnacle Grill lunch reservations. They are very good about rescheduling should you need/want to once you've had a good opportunity to review the daily schedule. As others have said, the burger is excellent, as are the deserts, both available online in PG at lunch. There is also a dinner worthy tenderloin on the lunch menu. 🙂 Enjoy your cruise and PG dinner - don't forget the candied bacon (offered only at dinner)!
  22. Correct - no complimentary coffee at Grand Dutch Cafe or Explorations, but what they have is really good as are the no cost food items (everything from cookies and muffins to soup and sandwiches). Now I'm hungry and wishing I was on a cruise 🙂
  23. DH drinks pepsi, but uses coke for mixing. So maybe he is normal, after all. Lol
