  1. Hey @KKB you don't have to pack everything- your cabin steward will help by taking what's on hangers and any bags/suitcases you want them to. They'll also check the fridge and drawers to be sure you didn't miss anything. I like to pack the bathroom and whatever I've collected along the way myself and let them grab the big stuff. But they will be sure you get it all. You don't have to put tags for your new cabin on luggage or bags, but I do just cuz it makes me feel better. You'll get a letter in your cabin advising where & when you need to meet on Turnaround Day - just be sure your stuff is ready to go by then and follow the instructions in the letter. And don't miss the meeting - that's where you'll get your new card and do whatever is required for customs. Lucky you - have fun!!
  2. Should not be an issue with all of you boarding together. The times are check in times, not boarding times, but they're not enforced at that port. Just be sure your boarding passes have barcodes on them. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  3. 3 important days; some weeks I wish for better business communication everyday 🙄 Pass on the meal (cauliflower) the drink, not been to the port. Thrilled to see a temp of 36° and even though it feels like 30°, that's much better than it's been. Lots of rain ahead, so the warmer temperatures are nice to see. Prayers and positive thoughts for all.
  4. Welcome to HAL! Nov, Dec 2023 on NS and this month K'dam I upgraded to Premium and used it daily for work Teams calls. It was fine except for random occasional very short-lived spotty outages. You can upgrade prior to the cruise so long as you do it 4 days or more prior to sailing - it is 20% the full length of the cruise. Or you can do it onboard - Just click the orange button when you log in (as seen in VMax1700 screenshot) and you're good. It will be charged to OBC.
  5. You can only see OBC on a booking confirmation (invoice) until you're onboard. Once onboard, you can see it on the TV & on the Navigator App under your statement. Before then, it's not visible on website or Navigator App.
  6. See, that's what happens when one skims instead of reads. You miss the laundry and it's just dumping...
  7. So wrong. If I get a "send the dog letter" response that will be the end of my patience and politeness. I feel like I've been as diplomatic and patient as could reasonably be expected. Lord, please don't let there be a "send the dog letter."🙏
  8. Definitely not a great zoom - it's my phone Samsung Galaxy Note9, zoomed probably on 5 out of 10. The pictures are too fuzzy when I zoom too much.👀 You are really close, though. It's pretty awesome. Captain will very slowly spin so all sides are able to see at some point. Never gets old 😊
  9. Thanks for asking. The answer, unfortunately, is no. I got the usual auto response of "appreciate your contact...will follow up..." which I will include when I follow up.
  10. We did a TA (opposite direction [Rome->FLL], opposite season [Nov 26-Dec 10]) last year in an aft cabin and would book the same in a heartbeat. There may have been a tad more movement due to being aft, but the motion doesn't bother us, so it was not an issue (but I understand how it could impact some people). There was less wind since it's somewhat protected back there so we were able to really enjoy the views. We huddled under blankets and saw some spectacular seascapes. The wake views are beautiful and seeing them "live" vs the TV camera are really special. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  11. So thrilled for you - first cruise and first time AK - that's a great way to start your cruising "career." On Glacier Bay day, crew will be handing out hot cups of Dutch Pea Soup - be sure you grab a cup (or 2). Here's a couple shots of Glacier Bay as seen from the Crow's Nest May 2 last year - enjoy!!
  12. Take the jacket - it's cold. Abandon it later at the airport. Safe travels!
  13. Enjoy the "cold" FL air now cuz you'll have legit cold OK air all too soon.🥶 brrrr Safe travels.
  14. Last time we had self laundry was on Princess pre-covid. Missed it one time then very quickly appreciated not doing it ourselves and have happily turned that task over to the ship crew. Just like letting them cook for us and clean our cabin, we let them do our laundry and enjoy more vacation.
  15. I have to eat, too, before I leave the ship. I am never at the head of the line to scan off, but still manage to take early flights home.
  16. A nice wacky collection of days - the friend who went on the Nov/Dec TA with me bought crazy socks at each port for herself and her grown son; I never thought of socks as a souvenir. Might try the meal & drink once I know what they are, never been to the port, day in history was indeed impactful. Finally not below freezing at 32° but feels like 25° headed to 36°, so not much warmer, but it's progress. Rain is supposed to move in tonight. Nothing on today's schedule except laundry and a little work. Prayers and positive thoughts for all.
  17. Welcome to HAL! @POA1is somewhat of an expert on cabanas; he recently posted some details you may find beneficial and perhaps can post a link for you. I'm on phone not computer and can't easily search.
  18. And remember @RE Guru the roll calls here on CC (that @Elaine5715 showed you how to find) are different from the ones on FB (that @lubedobedo mentioned) are not linked, so any conversations you have in one will not be seen in the other. But you can join roll calls in both places.
