  1. There's a Publix Supermarket located in Cocoa Beach, Florida at 5645 North Atlantic Blvd which is just south of Cape Canaveral. They have a large selection of beer and wine plus anything else you would need including suntan lotion, potato chips, etc.
  2. Free shuttle service from MIA to the Port Of Miami was discontinued at the beginning of the Covid Pandemic. You can drop off the rental at the Miami International Airport Rental Car Center and cab, Uber or Lyft over to the Port Of Miami. If you rent from Hertz, Avis or Budget they have downtown Miami locations that are very close to the Port Of Miami. They are smaller facilities that can get very busy on cruise turnaround days. I can't confirm it but other Cruise Critic posters state that the downtown Miami locations provide free shuttle services.
  3. Rent a vehicle at MCO and drive down to Miami. The two hundred twenty five mile drive takes approximately four hours. Don't drive down on embarkation day since one accident on the Florida Turnpike or Interstate 95 and you could possibly miss the ships sailing.
  4. The flat fee rate from the Port Of Miami to MIA was recently discontinued. You now pay the metered rate. This change was recently implemented within the last few months.
  5. Louie Bossi's on Las Olas Blvd is a great place for a Sunday brunch in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
  6. Port Everglades to FLL is literally a ten minute ride. I'm unaware of any company that provides shuttle services for the short ride. A few cabs or Uber or Lyft is the easiest way to go. You could also contact Larry's Limos for a price quote but they will be more expensive than a cab.
  7. All hotels in Cape Canaveral charge for parking if you leave your vehicle at there facility. The fare is either included in your hotel overnight stay or an add on. They normally don't charge for the five minute shuttle service over to Port Canaveral. I have stayed a few times at Country Inns and Suites and always happy to stay at that location.
  8. Cancel the Carnival shuttle and take a cab, Uber or Lyft from the hotel to the Port Of Miami. Why bother going back to MIA to get onto the Carnival shuttle bus.
  9. Fox is a lower tier rental company known for padding the bill. In some instances they quote you a price and when you arrive they advise you that the vehicle you reserved is in not available and they quote you a higher price. They also push you to purchase there insurance which in many instances is very expensive. I would stick with Alamo, Hertz, Budget, Enterprise, etc.
  10. I have never heard of Mercado Transportation. Many Cruise Critic posters recommend Cortrans, Go Port, Mears and Cruise Control Transportation.
  11. Country Inn and Suites is a nice hotel literally ten minutes away from Port Canaveral. Nice location and a nice staff.
  12. They want you out of the cabin by 8:30 AM and off of the ship by 9:30AM so they get the ship down to a zero passenger count and get ready for the next sailing. Everything is closed by 9:00AM and I feel bad that I am holding up the process for passengers excited about getting on the vessel and getting ready to begin there cruise vacation.
  13. If he's a no show he's only gets taxes and fees returned. He loses the total fare. Depending on the insurance you purchased he would get most of the money back except for the actual insurance purchase price.
  14. The only safe place to park in Miami is at the port. Too many sad stories of damaged vehicles, shoddy shuttle service and less than favorable off site parking locations in the city of Miami. It's worth the twenty two dollars a day to park at the port in a safe and secure location and find your vehicle in the condition you left it in. This question has also been beaten to death since I became a member of Cruise Critic in March 2002.
  15. It's tough to go to all three locations in such a short amount of time. I would pick one location and spend the day there. My pick would be to spend the day in South Beach. Cab or Uber over to South Beach. Walk on the beach, head over to one of the restaurants for drinks and a wonderful lunch. Hop on a cab for the short ride back to the Port Of Miami.
  16. The is no free shuttle service from Port Everglades to FLL. A cab will cost around fifteen dollars plus tip for the short fifteen minute ride. Free shuttle service from Port Everglades was discontinued approximately four years ago. A few car rental companies provide free service to there off site locations located just outside of Port Everglades. The Alamo location on Eller Drive is closest facility that I'm aware of. You would have to call them directly to see if they still provide the free service.
  17. Once you enter the terminal ask one of the staff members where assistance is available. They will advise you where to wait. Normally cruise staff are assigned to help you get onto the ship and it depends how many employees are assigned to that task.
  18. The downtown Miami rental car companies are operated by Hertz, Avis and Budget. You would have to check with each individual company if free shuttle service is still offered.
  19. Request a price quote from Larry's Limos. A well run company recommended by many Cruise Critic posters including myself. Clean vehicles, knowledgeable drivers and reasonable rates. More expensive than a cab, Uber or Lyft but well worth it.
  20. To my knowledge the three downtown Miami rental locations used by Avis, Budget and Hertz don't provide free shuttle services to the Port Of Miami. A cab, Uber or Lyft should be relatively inexpensive for the short ten minute ride. Free shuttle service from the Miami International Airport Rental Car Center to the Port Of Miami was also discontinued at the beginning of the Covid Pandemic crisis.
  21. I have been on forty five plus cruises since I got hooked on my first Royal Caribbean cruise in May 1983. I'm considering a seven day MSC cruise from Miami in early 2023 but am concerned about MSC's booking process. Is it worth all of the aggravation or should I stick with Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Holland America, NCL, etc.
  22. The Hilton Garden Inn is located in Ridgefield Park New Jersey, not in Ridgefield which is a separate municipality. As for shuttle service to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal I have used Garden State Limo numerous times. There prices are reasonable and they always provide excellent service. The ride from the hotel to the terminal takes approximately thirty minutes.
  23. Plenty of spaces available at the Port Of Miami and no problems regarding thefts from vehicles and damage to them either. The parking garages are safe and secure. Plenty of spaces available after 10:00AM when passengers from previous sailings have already left and on there way home.
  24. I have stayed at Country Inns and Suites a few times and was happy with the accommodations. You can leave your vehicle there for a fee and the price was reasonable. I normally rent a vehicle and drop it off before heading over to Port Canaveral. The hotels sometimes sell out so don't wait too long to make a reservation.
  25. Jaxson's is at the southern end of the mall and Pauli's is at the northern end. Small place with less than ten tables. Nice owner and great food. Only pizza place in my lifetime where the owner asked how I liked the pizza cooked.
