  1. Carnival's transportation is only on embarkation day and disembarkation days. The bus doesn't leave for the Port of Miami until it's full of passengers. I would either grab a cab, Uber or Lyft to get there. It's usually cheaper too because Carnival charges per person for bus transportation.
  2. Anything after 12 Noon should be fine. Both MIA and FLL are busy on cruise turnaround days.
  3. Larry's Limos is a great choice for transportation in the South Florida area.A cab would be my second choice if your not interested in using Uber or Lyft.
  4. As long as your sailing on two Celebrity ships you won't have a problem. Both ships dock relatively close to one another. If Celebrity doesn't provide you with shuttle service grab a cab for the short ride, tip well and your all set..
  5. Uber, Lyft or a cab will work. Contact Larry's Limos for a price quote. They provide you with clean vehicles, knowledgeable drivers and reasonable rates. Used by many Cruise Critic posters including myself.
  6. They let the Uber operator take you directly to the pier. On most occasions they ask to see the Uber drivers personal identification too.
  7. Save the Disney trip for a land based vacation. It's not worth the hassle to travel from Port Canaveral to Disney for only a few short hours. You need at least a day or two to see everything.
  8. The area where Uber and Lyft drivers wait for jobs is located just south of the newer runway near Federal Highway. If you call for a pickup they normally show up at arrivals on the ground floor of the airport.
  9. By the way, what ship leaves from the Port of Palm Beach. If it's the old Carnival ship that now sailing as the Margaritaville I would definitely pass on that. The United States Coast Guard had some serious issues with that ships seaworthiness recently.
  10. Contact Larry's Limos for a price quote. Company is highly recommended and popular with Cruise Critic posters. I have used them a few times myself and always satisfied with there service.
  11. A few months ago a read a sad story from first time cruisers from outside Baltimore who were scheduled to fly in on a Sunday morning to MIA. The family consisted of a husband, wife and child along with the wife's parents. The young couple purchased insurance but the older couple did not. They were notified on Saturday that their Southwest flight and another flight a few hours later was cancelled too. They headed to BWI on Sunday morning hoping for a miracle. It didn't happen and I'm pretty sure they missed their twelve day MSC Divina sailing. She also thought that if there were many flight cancellations they would hold up the embarkation a few hours or reschedule the voyage until Monday. I explained that the ship's captain can hold up the sailing for a few hours but not until the next day.
  12. The last two American Airlines flights are cutting it too close. For a 4:00PM sailing you need to be checked in and on the vessel by 2:30PM. Too much stress for me!
  13. Could try a short flight from either MIA or FLL to MCO. Grab a shuttle or rent a vehicle for the minimum twenty four hour time period from NCO to Port Canaveral.
  14. Hit sixty five in March 2022. Been on over forty five cruises since I got hooked in May 1983 on Royal Caribbean's seven day Eastern Caribbean sailing on the Song Of America.
  15. Years ago I rented from Budget and was waiting for the shuttle to take me to their facility. People were arguing about the shuttle line. I was in no rush because I was heading to my condo in South Florida. The two Budget shuttles were packed going back and forth. A Hertz shuttle arrived and the driver was waiting for two customers. He told us he would be happy to bring us over to the Budget location. He received a generous tip for his kindness.
  16. Cruise Control Transportation, Mears or Cortrans are three widely used shuttle companies that provide service to Port Canaveral from MCO. If I'm arriving a day or two earlier I rent a vehicle at MCO and return it on embarkation day.
  17. If your looking for a beach you need to stay in Miami Beach. There's no beaches in the city of Miami. The Intercontinental Hotel is a a nice property very close to the Port Of Miami. Any hotel in Brickell is close too!
  18. If your aiming for the 11:45AM flight try being one of the first passengers off of the ship when it arrives at Port Canaveral. At the rental car shuttle area I have witnessed passengers almost coming to blows regarding the lines getting onto the shuttle buses.
  19. If your unsure about using Uber or Lyft stick with a cab. There's always plenty of them at FLL.
  20. MCO gets super busy on weekend turnaround days. I wouldn't book a flight earlier than 12 noon. I would feel a lot better with a 1:00PM or later flight.
  21. One bad accident on Interstate 95 northbound and your plans are shot. If you are one of the first passengers off the ship when you arrive at the Port Of Miami and get to the Miami International Airport Rental Car Center relatively early you have a chance of making the Prima. Personally at my age I wouldn't do it and would do another Prima sailing a week or so later.
  22. Any time after 10:00AM you will find plenty of spaces at the parking garage. Most passengers from the previous sailing should have all ready left and on there way home.
  23. You need to contact Larry's Limos directly because I have never seen a review regarding car seats in all the years I have personally recommended that company to other Cruise Critic members.
  24. I have read too many sad stories about parking in the Miami area. Vehicles have been broken into while parking at downtown Miami locations and there are many posts over the years regarding shoddy shuttle services. If your leaving on a cruise from the Port Of Miami stick with a secure location and park at the port. I have read too many unfortunate posts since I joined Cruise Critic in March 2002.
