  1. I not sure about shuttle service but I normally would rent a vehicle and return it in Tampa on embarkation day. If your concerned about parking fees at your hotel just rent the vehicle at MCO for the minimum twenty four hour period and return it as soon as you arrive in Tampa.
  2. My family sailed on the five day Adventure Of The Seas Bermuda cruise on June 9th 2022. We arrived at the terminal around 11:00AM and the line for luggage drop off wasn't too long. We drove towards the Parking Garage and was notified that parking was restricted to handicapped passengers only. We drove over to the abandoned warehouse lot and parked there. The short walk back to the terminal took less than ten minutes. When we arrived at the terminal the line was quite long and took over an hour to check in. I asked an employee and was told they were short staffed. Having a reservation didn't make a difference and everyone was on the same line. We noticed that orange juice and lemonade was in short supply in the Windjammer. On the first sea day my wife asked for a glass of white wine at the Solarium Bar. I walked over and asked the overworked bartender for the wine. He explained he didn't have any white wine at his station and no one available to go down to the liquor room to get any. An hour later I asked for an Absolut Screwdriver. He pointed to Gray Goose or Stoli Vodka. I settled for Gray Goose. Every night our last stop was a drink or two in the Viking Crown. We made conversation with a twenty three year female veteran bar steward from Jamaica. She explained she had white wine if we wanted any. She also told us she had two weeks left on her eight month contract. Her immediate supervisor was strong arming her to extend her contract an additional ten weeks. She told him her knees were shot and she was considering retirement. She told us everyone on board were being asked to extend there contracts.
  3. Tampa to Port Canaveral is a more realistic scenario. The three hour ride adds a cushion in case of bad weather, a brush fire or a traffic accident. Try to be one of the passengers that disembarks early to add extra time on your ride from Tampa to Port Canaveral.
  4. It's an easy four to five hour ride from Tampa to Fort Lauderdale or Miami. If the ship docks at 6:00AM and you carry off your luggage at 7:00AM you should make it. One accident on Interstate 75 and you may watch the ship in South Florida sail without you. Is there any possibility of leaving the first cruise on Saturday in Tampa and hopping on the next sailing on Sunday from South Florida.
  5. There are no rental car locations directly at Port Everglades. There are a few locations that are right outside of the Port. They include Alamo which has a location on Eller Drive. Normally I drop my family off at Port Everglades along with our luggage. I then return the rental at Hollywood Fort Lauderdale International Airport and take a car over to the Port. A cab usually costs between fifteen and twenty dollars for the short ten minute ride. When I arrive at the Port on the conclusion of my cruise we hop in a cab for the short ride over to the Rental Car Center.
  6. Get a price quote from Larry's Limos. They are highly recommended by many Cruise Critic posters including myself. Otherwise Uber or Lyft will fit the bill.
  7. Stop at any Publix Supermarket in South Florida. Large selection and reasonable prices. Also a great store for last minute items.
  8. No hotel in Cape Canaveral offers you free parking for the duration of your cruise. The price for parking is added to your minimum one night stay at most hotels. I have personally stayed at Country Inns and Suites and was satisfied with my stay there. I usually have a rental vehicle and return it after I drop off my family and luggage at Port Canaveral.
  9. There are four hotels in Dania Beach on Federal Highway, just ten minutes south of FLL. They include the Hotel Dello and a Holiday Inn Express, They are also less than fifteen minutes away from Port Everglades.
  10. Mears, Cruise Control and Cortrans are three companies recommended by many Cruise Critic posters.
  11. Personally, I wouldn't book a domestic flight from MIA before 12 Noon. Miami International Airport has been a zoo lately. Always very busy lately especially with all the delays and cancellations.
  12. You can't reserve a parking space at the Port Of Miami. Arrive anytime after 10:00AM and there will be plenty of spaces available. When you arrive at the Port the variable message sign will advise you which terminal you ship will be docked at. Drop off family members and luggage and then drive over to the garage to secure your vehicle. Walk back over to the terminal and check in with your family.
  13. Under the current circumstances regarding canceled flights and overbooked planes I would fly in at least a day or two early. Relax at a Tampa area hotel for a night or two before your sailing. Wake up on embarkation morning relaxed and ready for your cruise.
  14. The Royal Naval Dockyard only has room for two ships to dock at the same time. Bermuda normally only allows two ships to enter there country at the same time. They are very strict regarding tourist load during the season. I was unaware that any ships could tender there while two ships were docked there.
  15. Normally they won't allow you to check in bags more than four hours before your flight.
  16. If you decide to stay a Margaritaville you have to walk up to Nick's Bar. A great spot for a hamburger and a few cold beers, Just a nice place to spend a few hours.
  17. I recently checked a few months ago regarding free shuttle service from the Miami International Airport Rental Car Center to the Port Of Miami. I was told by an employee of Alamo that the service was not operational at this time. Currently a cab is a set price of twenty eight dollars plus tip.
  18. You can either use a taxi or if you want to ride in style get a price quote from Larry's Limos. They are highly recommended by many Cruise Critic veterans including myself. I have personally used them a few times and am always satisfied with there service.
  19. Avis, Hertz and Budget have downtown Miami locations that are relatively close to the Port Of Miami. I'm unsure if they provide free shuttle service from the Port Of Miami to there downtown Miami locations. You would have to call them to check.
  20. Cortrans, Mears, Cruise Control and Cocoa Beach are four shuttle companies that are recommended by many Cruise Critic posters. Call them for price quotes.
  21. Any Publix Supermarket has all the sunscreen you will ever need. A very large selection too!
  22. My family of three cruised on the Adventure Of The Seas June 9th five day sailing to Bermuda. During the short five day sailing in the Windjammer there was a shortage of orange juice and lemonade. On the first sea day I went over to the Solarium Bar for a glass of white wine for my wife. The overworked bartender told me there was no white wine available at his station and no one available to go down to the storage hold and get any. My wife ended up with a glass of champagne. The same day I asked for an absolut screwdriver. He pointed to either Gray Goose or Stoli vodka. I went with the Gray Goose. Every night during this sailing we would end up having a drink or two in the Viking Crown Lounge. A twenty three year female veteran bar steward from Jamaica explained that she was finishing up an eight month contract in two weeks. She told us her direct supervisor was begging her to extend her contract for an additional ten weeks because they were so shorthanded. She explained that her knees were shot and she was considering retirement. She said many fellow employees were being strong armed to extend their contracts.
  23. I never heard of a handicapped assessable junior suite on any cruise ship. On most lines there is a small amount of handicapped available rooms. You most likely will be able to reserve the room either through the cruise line or an outside agency. In most cases you need to reserve that type of room very far out because there usually is a demand for that type of cabin.Lastly and in some rare cases if a passenger who isn’t handicapped is assigned a handicapped cabin and the need arises for that type of cabin for another passenger you can be forced to give up the handicapped cabin and moved to another regular cabin on your ship.
  24. You can only do one of the dining room scenarios during your sailing. On excursion day when you return to the ship head over to the Windjammer for dinner. The Windjammer is usually open for dinner between 6:00PM and 9:00PM.
  25. You can easily rent a vehicle after your first cruise ends in Port Canaveral and drop off the vehicle in Tampa approximately two hours later. You would normally rent the vehicle for the minimum twenty four hour time period. Most of the rental vehicle offices are located in Cape Canaveral, just south of Port Canaveral.
