  1. Carmel and Dial 7 are recommended car services in the Metropolitan New York area. A good New Jersey company I personally use is Garden State Limo. They transport my family from Northern New Jersey to Newark International Airport all the time.
  2. Country Inn And Suites in Cape Canaveral is a nice hotel very close to Port Canaveral.
  3. Oasis of the Seas currently sails from Cape Liberty to Port Canaveral Florida as one of its stops. It has to be Port Canaveral.
  4. There have been many posts from Cruise Critic South Florida members regarding Airbnb's in the Miami area. Many condo buildings have strict regulations regarding Airbnb usage. A lot of owners advertise Airbnb!s but are not following their buildings restrictions and get caught. Customers arrive at buildings to find out they are locked out of the building. My building in Hallandale Beach Florida which is north of Miami strictly forbids it.
  5. I didn't even realize that the Alamo Eller Drive location was closed. Right now the easiest solution is the fifteen to twenty dollar cab ride over to the FLL Rental Car Center. Rental car prices are currently still expensive.
  6. Walking between terminals is tough depending on how much luggage you have and how hot it is that day. Easiest way to get from one terminal to another is grab a cab, tip the driver well and be pleasant.
  7. Free shuttle service from Port Everglades to FLL were discontinued at least four years ago. Some rental car companies will shuttle you to their facilities just outside of the terminal entrance. I personally know that Alamo has a shuttle to there Eller Drive location. If you need to pick up a vehicle at FLL Uber, Lyft or a cab are the way to go. A cab should run you less than twenty dollars plus tip.
  8. All three flights give you plenty of time to disembark the ship and make it to the airport with extra time to spare. The 3:00PM flight would be my choice.
  9. Head up to the Viking Crown Lounge one night before dinner. Sit down and order a drink and ask one of the bar stewards to bring the ring when they bring the cocktails. I think that location would be the perfect place, especially during a quiet time up there.
  10. It's easier to take an Uber, Lyft or cab from the Port Of Miami to the Miami International Airport Rental Car Center which is located across from Miami International Airport. Every major rental car company has an office there. There's usually plenty of inventory and better pricing. As I have said on many previous posts the downtown Miami locations are too small and too busy on turnaround days.
  11. There are hotels near MIA that have cruise packages and charge a fee for leaving your vehicle there while your on your voyage. They are located in the Blue Lagoon area of Miami. Some hotels will be able to shuttle you to Port Of Miami for a fee per person.
  12. The downtown Miami locations are very busy on turnaround days. The offices are small and get very busy. A cab from the port to the facilities will save you some time. I know that Avis, Budget and Hertz have downtown locations.
  13. Check pricing with Go Port Canaveral, Cortrans or Mears Transportation. They are three companies used by many Cruise Critic cruisers.
  14. When you arrive at the terminal entrance at Port Everglades the Uber or Lyft will be allowed to enter terminal property. They normally ask to see you passport or other identification and will ask the driver for his too.
  15. Sorry about the mixup but I have never heard of this hotel on Hollywood Beach. When I walk on the boardwalk in Hollywood Beach I notice a lot of foot traffic at the Riptide and Diane Hotels. They are two small boutique hotels.
  16. Never heard of this place and I have a condo in Hallandale Beach Florida for the last thirty five years. It was be a really small hotel near Fort Lauderdale Beach.
  17. Check rates for the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas Blvd in downtown Fort Lauderdale. A great reasonably priced hotel close to a few great restaurants. Very close to FLL. As for transportation to the Port Of Miami it's going to cost you. Uber or Lyft will run about sixty dollars and a cab around seventy five plus tip. If you want to ride in style check rates for Larry's Limos. A highly recommended company used by many Cruise Critic posters.
  18. If your bringing wheelchairs or renting them ship members will assist you getting the passengers onto the ship. I have never seen a motorized handicapped transport used in any terminal in the United States, Europe or Asia. As for passenger assistance, ask any terminal employee and they will advise you where to go. Depending on how many employees are delegated to this task will give you an idea how long will it take to get everyone safely aboard the vessel.
  19. Contact Larry's Limos for a price quote. A reputable company recommended by many Cruise Critic posters including myself. Will be more expensive than Uber or Lyft but well worth it!
  20. The easiest way to deal with a situation like this is to tell your friends, relatives and co workers that this is the ship we are going on, what week and where the ship is sailing too. Everyone will want to go with you until they have to pay the bill. Everyone will tell you the cruise is too expensive and they can get a better deal. Give them all the information and have them book themselves. Saves you all the aggravation associated with a group booking.
  21. You can ask any room steward for a wine glass. I have never been told I couldn't have one. If I bring wine onboard with me I normally consume it in my stateroom. If I bring a special expensive bottle I carry a glass with me to the Dining Room. I have never been charged a corkage fee since my first cruise in May 1983.
  22. Earliest check in time is usually 10:00AM. Earliest boarding time is 11:00AM and the latest your allowed to board the ship is 2:30PM for a 4:00 PM sailing. A few years ago on a Holland America Eurodam sailing from Port Everglades we watched a few different families arrive approximately one hour before the ships departure. They were trying to enter the terminal and all the doors were locked and check in was closed. They were upset and still standing around the terminal as the ship left the dock.
  23. You either book early or late seating or My Time Dining. My Time Dining is fine, especially if on your first night you ask to be seated at the same table at the same time with the same waitstaff. On most ships My Time Dining each table is used two times during dinner service. If dining room service begins at 6:00PM they try to serve you and get you done by 8:00PM so that they can seat another party as soon as you leave.
  24. The Miami Intercontinental Hotel is only minutes away from the Port Of Miami. A cab from MIA should run you less than thirty dollars. On embarkation day a cab to the Port is less than ten dollars. A cab, Uber or Lyft should be a lot easier that a shared shuttle or a reserved shuttle. At the conclusion of your cruise a cab back to MIA is around twenty eight dollars plus tip.
  25. What part of the world do you want to cruise to? Most Caribbean nations require you to be vaccinated. Some countries now are dropping the negative test requirements.
