  1. Have lunch or dinner in Deerfield Beach at either the Whales Rib or JB's on the Beach or have great food at the Aruba Beach Cafe In Lauderdale By The Sea. All three locations are casual and have excellent food.
  2. Hop in a cab, explain your situation to the driver and tip well and you shouldn't have a problem from getting from one terminal to another.
  3. You can also park at the Eula Johnson/ Von Mizel State Park in Dania Beach which is located just south of Port Everglades. The State Park charges Six dollars to park from sunrise to sunset. If you park at the northern lot you can walk on the beach and see the ships leave, especially on Saturday's and Sunday's. Visitors years ago could get even closer and walk on the pier but that area is now blocked due to scheduled construction. No work is taking place and the area has been blocked off for years.
  4. Because of congestion at MCO, especially on weekends I wouldn't book a flight out until after 12:00 noon. I have read over the years many posters state they made earlier fights but I would rather pad in the extra time.
  5. I rented a vehicle from the Miami International Airport Rental Car Center after a December 2022 Royal Caribbean cruise from the Port Of Miami and the free shuttle service was still discontinued. I paid approximately thirty five dollars on a metered cab for the twenty plus minute trip. I asked the customer service representative at Alamo if he knew when and if free shuttle services would be restarted and he stated he didn't know.
  6. Alamo shuttle service from the Port Of Miami to the Miami International Airport Rental Car Center and in the opposite direction was discontinued at the beginning of the Covid Pandemic. I'm unsure when the service will return. I know that Avis, Budget and Hertz have downtown Miami locations that provide service to their facilities. The only problem with the downtown locations is they are small and get very busy on cruise turnaround days.
  7. Stick with Larry's Limos if you need reasonable, reliable limo service in the greater Miami and Fort Lauderdale area. Highly recommended by many Cruise Critic posters including myself. I have personally used them a few times and was always satisfied with there service.
  8. Definitely a great idea to leave a day early and spend no more than eight hours on the road. Stay overnight near West Palm Beach and you will have a short two hour ride on embarkation day to the Port Of Miami.
  9. In Belize the ships dock very far from the port. That's done because the water is very shallow near the port and the ship could easily get hung up on one of the reefs. As for tender service, most excursions leave with in the first hour of the ships arrival. After the first hour tender service is more relaxed and the wait time for a shuttle isn't too long.
  10. I have been a member of Cruise Critic since March 2002. I have never heard if Turo. Are they a shuttle service or a limo company?
  11. If you don't want to travel over to the Miami International Airport Rental Car Center to pick up a rental car you can pick up a vehicle at a downtown Miami rental car facility. Budget, Avis and Hertz have downtown Miami locations. They tend to be very busy on cruise turnaround days so pack your patience and be prepared to wait awhile. Personally, when I rent a vehicle I make my way over to the Miami International Airport Rental Car Center
  12. Publix Supermarkets have a large selection of items you may need. They sell all varieties of wine along with suntan lotion, nuts and potato chips. The closest store is just south of Port Canaveral in Cocoa Beach.
  13. Some larger travel agencies and online cruise agencies book blocks of rooms for sale on certain weeks and certain cruise lines. If they don't sell all of the cabins by a certain time they return the cabins back to there place of origin so that the cruise line can sell them. You can normally get a better rate if you pick the right week.
  14. If you leave the bottles in your suitcase they normally will hold the suitcases in a secure location where you will have to go to retrieve them. Ship's security calls it the Naughty Room.
  15. Uber or Lyft are definite other options for the short fifteen minute ride over to FLL.
  16. That's the correct website for Larry's Limos.
  17. The easiest way to pick up a rental vehicle is pay the twenty dollar cab fare for the short ten minute ride over to FLL. The Rental Car Center which is attached to the airport has every major rental car company at the facility. Free shuttle service from Port Everglades to FLL was discontinued approximately four plus years ago.
  18. Total Wine just off of 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale would be my first choice for wine followed by any Publix Supermarket in the area. They also have a large selection of decent priced wines along with suntan lotion, snacks, etc.
  19. Almost every country happily accepts US dollars in the Caribbean. . Martinique prefers euros but does accept US dollars.
  20. From the hotel I would Uber over to Miami Beach. Spend some time walking on the beach followed by a few drinks at one of the restaurants or bars. Then plan on a late lunch, early dinner scenario followed by an Uber back to the hotel.
  21. Take a cab, Uber or Lyft over to the Miami International Airport Rental Car Center which is located directly across from Miami International Airport. Every major rental car company has a office there. So much easier and faster than going to the downtown Miami location.
  22. A cab with a generous tip to the driver should get the job done. I also wouldn't bother with Uber or Lyft either. Have a wonderful time!
  23. Versailles is usually a very busy restaurant no matter when you go there. My last visit in September 2022 we arrived around 8:00PM and there was a fifteen minute wait for a table. We parked in the one lot located near the bakery and main entrance. There is also a larger parking lot behind the building and another large one just west of the restaurant.
  24. Most cruise lines want you out of the cabin by 8:30AM and off the ship no later than 9:30AM. On disembarkation day everything is closed by that time and they need to get the ship down to a zero passenger count so they can get ready to welcome the new group of passengers.
  25. All car rental facilities are busy on weekend turnaround days in Cape Canaveral. Try to arrive as early as possible, drop off family, friends and luggage at the Port first and then return the rental vehicles. Then either take the free shuttle back to Port Canaveral or use Uber, Lyft or a cab.
