11:00AM EWR Arrival and 3:00PM Cape Liberty Sailing
Corby114 replied to ILgirl's topic in East Coast Departures
Do me a favor and stay one night in Elizabeth prior to your cruise. Have a nice dinner followed by a good nights sleep and your only thirty minutes away from Cape Liberty on embarkation day. I would be a nervous wreck if I was arriving at EWR at 11:00AM for a 3:00PM sailing. -
Parking at Cape Liberty with 3 Ships
Corby114 replied to CapeLibertyGirl's topic in East Coast Departures
Handicapped parking is usually assigned to the parking garage next to the terminal. If and when the garage is at full occupancy regular and handicapped passengers are sent over to the large lot across from the terminal. When that fills up you are then directed to the outside warehouse lots located to the west of the terminal area. The walk back over to the terminal takes less than ten minutes. This was the scenario I encountered on my last Adventure Of The Seas five day sailing to Bermuda in June 2022. -

Southport Raw Bar on Cordova Road in Fort Lauderdale is a cool place to eat in a casual setting.. They have fish tacos and various sandwiches which are really good. A nice place where many regulars hangout. -
Oasis-Cape Liberty-Boarding and Departure times
Corby114 replied to bayportkat's topic in Royal Caribbean International
You need to be checked in and onboard by 2:30PM for a 4:00PM departure. As for your return if the ship arrives at 6:00AM they usually start disembarkation at 7:00AM. You need to be out of your cabin between 8:00AM and 8:30AM and off the ship before 9:00AM. They need the ship down to a zero passenger count to start getting ready for the ships next scheduled sailing. -
How did you decide to take your very first cruise ?
Corby114 replied to lenquixote66's topic in Ask a Cruise Question
I was a twenty six year old single guy who went to a travel agency owned by a coworkers mother. I explained that I wanted to go to somewhere sunny and she told me about taking a cruise. I went on the twenty fourth sailing on Royal Caribbean's Song Of America from Miami to Nassau, San Juan Puerto Rico and St Thomas on a seven day Eastern Caribbean sailing. On the first sea day I went to the Singles Get Together. I was one of over one hundred single cruisers that week. There were over eighty women and less than twenty men sailing that week in May 1983. I had a great week and met a lot of nice people. I became hooked on sailing after that wonderful week. -
Take a cab over to South Beach in Miami Beach. Hangout on the beach, Have a nice lunch and take a cab back to the ship. South Beach is a beautiful place.

Crude oil is refined into gasoline and then transported by bulk oil freighters to Port Everglades for distribution in South Florida. I read earlier today that gasoline reserves are now starting to stabilize in the area and supply is increasing to normal levels.

I would rather arrive in the Newark area the day before your flight so you are close to your departure city. Besides staying in Newark you are better off staying in Elizabeth New Jersey near the Jersey Gardens Mall. There are numerous hotels right near the mall.

Where to buy wine close to the port of Miami?
Corby114 replied to PLW0520's topic in Florida Departures
Any Publix Supermarket has a large variety of wine selections. There are three locations close to the Port Of Miami. They also have a large selection of last minute items including sunscreen, potato chips, pretzels, etc. -
Port of Miami - Transfers and Passing Time
Corby114 replied to wbingham's topic in Florida Departures
A cab from MIA to the Port Of Miami should cost around thirty dollars plus tip for the short twenty minute ride. Once you arrive at the Port and enter the terminal just try to get on the line to checkin early. Most likely you won't have a problem getting onboard early. Checkin times are issued so passenger arrivals at the terminal are spread out. -
If you arrive anytime after 10:00AM most passengers who were on the previous voyages have all ready left the facility. There will be plenty of parking available after that time.

Transportation from Palm Beach to Port Canaveral
Corby114 replied to ufgrad98nc's topic in Florida Departures
Change you flight to a West Pam Beach arrival a day or two early. Rent a vehicle at PBI and stay overnight with your Mom. Leave the next morning for the two hundred plus mile ride to Port Canaveral. Stay overnight in Cape Canaveral and then drop off your family at Port Canaveral. Return the rental vehicle and shuttle back to the Port. At the conclusion of your cruise repeat the process back to West Palm Beach. -
I'm unsure what the cost is but in most cases there are plenty of cabs available at both the Port Of Miami and in South Beach.

Contact Larry's Limos for a price quote but it will be expensive for a long trip like that. The problem with a trip like that is the fact that after the person is dropped off at Port Canaveral the vehicle is returning back to South Florida empty with no returning fare. -
Take a cab over to South Beach. Have a nice walk followed by a nice lunch and a few drinks. The area is absolutely beautiful.

Uber, Lyft or a cab is the way to go. If you deal with a shuttle company you will be looking at private service to your relatives residence in Merritt Island -

Arrival Time vs Boarding Time?
Corby114 replied to bruzin_for_a_cruizin's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Get there early. Normally if the ship gets down to a zero passenger count by 9:30AM new arrivals start the boarding process by 11:30AM. -
Anyone recently use Premier Parking for Miami cruise
Corby114 replied to Nashna's topic in Florida Departures
If you want to find your vehicle in the same condition you left it take the advice of most Cruise Critic posters and park your vehicle at the Port Of Miami. I have read too many sad stories about damaged vehicles, shoddy downtown Miami locations and poor shuttle service over the years.. Cruise Critic posters who live in the Miami area all suggest that the safest place to park is directly at the port. -
Wine store near Celebrity terminal at Port of Miami

Definitely fly in and stay overnight in a Miami Blue Lagoon area hotel. The Blue Lagoon area is very close to MIA. Then on embarkation day you can most likely make arrangements through the hotel for shuttle service over to the Port Of Miami. If that can't be worked out a cab, Uber or Lyft is the way to go for the short fifteen minute plus ride.
-
10:00AM is cutting it close. Anything after 12 Noon is so much better and gives you more time to get to MIA.

For some unknown reason the fixed rate of twenty eight dollars plus tip was discontinued approximately six months ago. The going meter rate is now approximately thirty dollars plus tip.

Terminal to Terminal Transfers at Port of Miami
Corby114 replied to bar1068's topic in Florida Departures
Hop in a cab, be nice and give the driver a generous tip and you should have no trouble getting from one terminal to another. -
