  1. All the times we've had Club Class, it was in the deck 6 midship dining room. Haven't cruised since they changed the name to Reserve Collection, but it's surely the same. 😃
  2. You've probably already thought of this and factored it into your thinking, but it's a long trek from the cabins on Sun deck to the dining rooms.
  3. Get one and wear it! Some years back, there was a guy who ran Spartan Races in a thong. If he can do that, you can surely wear one on a cruise.
  4. I don't mind them. If somebody wants to wear one it should be that somebody's personal choice.
  5. I do see what I think might be a minor gotcha on this. Booking the lowest category price within a meta category means a non-refundable deposit these days, or so I've been told by my PVP. The promo says it's for new bookings only. So, in my case if I canceled and rebooked an upcoming, getting the better cabin for the lower cabin price, wouldn't that mean a non-refundable deposit? For me, that makes it a gamble, betting that nothing will prevent me from actually going on the cruise. Hmmm.
  6. That looks like a great place to be for a long cruise. 😃
  7. I don't know what deck you're on, but we had a cabin on Observation deck. It was just a short walk down the hall to get an early morning coffee and sit in a big, comfy chair looking out the front of the ship while we drank said coffee. No lines. No crowds. Just good coffee and peace. That was just one of the things we liked about the ship.
  8. I don't need wow factor either. I hear you on the comment about the Carnival ship. We sailed on one of theirs some years back, and I always said it looked like an explosion in a Barbie Dreamhouse. Pink and silver everywhere you look. We did our first sailing with HAL back in September of this year on the Westerdam. The ship is well laid out and very well maintained. This works fine for me.
  9. That knowledge that we've already paid for a meal has kept us out of the specialty venues many, many times.
  10. Princess' website has never been what I'd call stellar, but it's way ahead of HAL's. That doesn't help anybody at all, but I'd hate to miss an opportunity to slam HAL's website.
  11. Wow! People are unbelievable.
  12. Neither would I, and I doubt very much that this is much of a problem.
  13. I guess I'm the odd one here, since I think this looks great. Granted, the "going green" part seems exaggerated, but I like the rest of it.
  14. I haven't stayed in that suite, but looking at deckplans I don't see any problem with it. I'm picky about cabins, and I would book that one.
  15. Too bad! I hope you can get the one you want eventually. 🙂
  16. Wow! Talk about clueless. The pile of complaints must surely be deep and wide by now.
  17. I don't know if this will help you at all, but this worked for me. Several months ago, I was trying to book shore excursions. In no way, shape or form could I do this on the website. I tried the pretty much useless app and was actually able to book them.
  18. I would give it a shot if I lived within reasonable driving distance to a HAL port. Princess is also doing this, and I do live within driving distance of San Francisco, so I might do that.
  19. Me too. I flipped around a few pages before I got this: Something has gone wrong! We are sorry , we are unable to locate the page. Please try searching again. I honestly don't know whether to laugh or be annoyed. I guess I'll laugh.
  20. I wouldn't like this either. I like to be able to see what's what.
  21. All that, plus the people who can't decide on anything, take forever on everything, and don't like anything. But I guess those folks fall under "otherwise annoying."
  22. I haven't read through this long thread, but here's my two cents. It's definitely worth $10 to me to have them shipped. My hubby has a very low tolerance for waiting in lines, so $10 to cut out one little bit of that is worth it to us even if it is a very little bit.
  23. We had a balcony cabin on the Majestic that was on Lido and under the conservatory. Never heard a thing.
  24. I like this. It's creative thinking to finish filling up ships. Having said that, I'll also say that I won't be doing it. My DH can't stand inside cabins and/or noisy cabins, so I have to do a smart selection when booking.
