Hence just the 14 day next jan on dream. I'd like to book jubilee but cant see paying more for a inside on jubilee than a balcony on harmony same dates. So booked harmony, but I'm watching prices. Hoping for a deal. .. and plan on a move to florida next year.

Yea I've been there, very busy. I've probably been out of Galveston 50 to 75 times on different lines. Been to the spot, no biggie in my book. I saw some new places I mentioned above. MAC-IES for burger and fries. Sugar & Rye is the place suggested for top notch crab cakes. Just writing down new suggestions that arent the old regulars. I am driving so will have a car. Just need to shower and repack my suitcase to throw in my car tomorrow.

You just assumed I meant diamond on rcl I guess, but i never said other than my perks which are D+ on rcl. What a bummer. Get well fast. I'm so happy it passed me by this cruise, tomorrow I leave for Galveston for radiance. Too close together but just this one time. Last radiance and rcl cruise going to Panama and Columbia so I made a exception to booking so close together. Still, deluged with trustee paperwork but off I go on radiance. Then home until sept for hand therapy and back to getting thru this stuff. Saw a couple interesting posts out of Galveston for places to eat. One said top crab cakes (with lots of crab) and fries and I forget but the other also sounded interesting. Tomorrow for dinner. Hard to choose.

I agree it's a snack for me. I got the chips and put cheese sauce and pico on them for a snack. It was fine for chips and cheese sauce for me, nothing else. Yes I tried the beans last week. Ok. Carnival I get the tortilla bowl and they make a salad in it. If wonder has burritos made to order its more than oasis and allure had. ..but dont like burritos so wouldnt matter, I want crispy taco shells. Or bowls.

I wouldnt say more elaborate. Carnival wins for me as they make mexican salads in tortilla bowls. The buritoes in fresh on rcl was pre made on oasis and wrapped, and they nuked them in a large microwave and put them out. Not made to order. Carnival wins for me. .. and I'm not a burrito fan. Though the cafe on oasis also had burritos..

Carnival vs rcl. RCL has more space than carnival, more crowded. Starting with vista class 5th deck promenade was closed in so you dont see the ocean when you walk thru and the public spaces were about halved. Theater much smaller and pillars so you have to go early. Comedy club stand in line to get in so much smaller. Cant book ahead, just stand in line. Then excel class came out. Pay for areas where it's more quiet and easier to order drinks. The dining room does not hold everyone it's so smal, so yes they have 3 venues free which are pay on prior ships. ... as a answer because the dining room cant seat everyone it's too small. Dont know what they were thinking but I'd guess these venues will stay free to move people out from the dining room. Chibang which is mexican and asian, mixed reviews, the bbq place, and the italian are complimentary. JiJis on vista is much much better than chibangs. The complimentary shaqs big chicken rave reviews. As good as guys burgers. I do enjoy the fact food on carnival. Dinner in the Mdr wasnt eatable for me.

Playmakers which is on a limited number of ships has very good ala carte selections imo. Though I'm not sure 4 could easily eat at Emrils for $30 to $40 unless you are sharing food. I would consider them comparable price wise. It was on oasis last week. The bbq on both ships I would say are comparable. ..though included on mardi gras and i guess celebration, on some vista class is extra at night for the finger food, horizon for instance. Free breakfast at johnny rockets is better than anything on carnival imo. Sushi places are comparatively priced on both. At diamond plus I get bogo every cruise. Carnival at diamond gives me ONE free pay restaurant. .. no comparison imo, rcl wins for anyone at diamond plus or higher. And I sure miss my free drinks and wifi on carnival. It's not apples to apples imo when I can do a bogo. Chops winds up cheaper for me.

I doubt anyone knows the chances but I'd say look at if your ship is full or very close when you bid. Are the suites all sold out. Then someone has to cancel for you to get on. The bid is X 2, no matter how many in the cabin, 1 or 4 it's still X 2. They dont tell you you won, they move you and bill your card, then send email. Whatever you get might not be your favorite location.

They no longer start a new tab if you go over the amount allowed. Cant be split, one tab per day per person.

I gifted my sister and her then new husband a cruise and they stood me up last minute. People dont value what they dont pay for. I'd make real sure he will go if he isnt wanting to cruise. If it's not his money he may not value the gift the same way you do giving it. Bella2 is booked on wonder so I'll follow along. My days of inviting others to cruise for free is over. I've also invited a few friends along just pay taxes before covid. Now I'm cruising solo since covid.

So you are D+? Diamond only get 4 drinks a day. If your daughter called in and linked to her bf, then they always show the higher of the 2 of them status when he logs in but his pts are unchanged. He should be able to get I to the diamond lounge if they are linked together status.

Right I've heard of deals out of the west coast but not other ports so much. That's what I said Calif had some deals for cheap, dont see them out if texas or florida. Watching Galveston and now port Canaveral where I hope to move. $100 a day next sept is best I've found in the last months out of texas. That's with my discounts thrown in or the price would be higher. Demand must be high as prices keep going up. If someone finds a $99 deal on cruisefare, please post a thread as deal alert.

Which proves my pt, carnival is targeting gamblers, not regular people. Their demographic is gamblers. My friend who went with me complained how hard it was to get a machine in the casino.

Idk but we took a taxi from Miami to Ft Lauderdale and I didnt notice but it was a larger suv vehicle and apparently charged a 30% premium. Be sure and look to see if any surcharges or get in a small compact taxi. Was $130 before tips. The distance is probably similar to yours from orlando to the port. Your distance might be be further from the port.

Deals on rcl few and far between but I dont check alaska. Carnival had some great deals last year for alaska. Might again. But overall I've been saying for quite a while carnival prices are very high. I cant ever find anything under $100 a day out of Galveston. Maybe florida will be cheaper as I'm planning a move late 2024. I agree there used to be last minute lower prices on carnival after final payment before covid but I dont see any deals out of ports I watch. Carnival seems to have decided to cater to low priced casino deals from what I can tell. Prices for non casino deals are high. It's how it is. Take it or leave it. Take up gambling.
