  1. Sounds awesome to me. If I was already moved to florida I'd do it. Maybe 2024 and beyond if another b2b thru the canal.
  2. If he buys the drink pkg she still has to call and buy the refreshment pkg which isnt that cheap. They dont care about doctors notes. Just call. The free drinks arent on physical cards, just loaded to your sea pass.
  3. I think all cruises that long will have some dress up night. Imo you could still wear your smart casual and it would work. Just if you want to get more dressed up.
  4. I agree a journey cruise is different. I did a carnival journey cruise to Alaska and it's my favorite cruise. A naturalist talked the night before what to see the next day. Lots of seniors all lined up in chairs on deck with binoculars hahahaha. But I loved it. I think a lot didnt see it's a journey cruise or seem to realize it's a little better.
  5. The 11 am free wine beer water is oasis class . .just for clarification. Some will board smaller ships thinking they get this. I know op asked about harmony but some reading this might not catch it.
  6. I think the confusion is I see all the time get double pts in a suite as if solo didnt exist. New math. .. if I didnt see people calling it double all the time ..
  7. Maybe you just need a ta with rcl group prices. Just your opinion prices are cheaper. As I said I'm only looking at Galveston and 7 days or more. Even a inside costs me more on carnival than a inside balcony on rcl. Each to his own. Each is entitled to their opinions. I dont know how to get refundable group rates for less on carnival. Nothing against carnival it just makes no sense to book and pay more. .. I wouldnt be diamond on carnival if I didnt used to cruise more with them, but they sure raised prices. Yes I know so has rcl. My wallet decides. I'm older, the one thing I didnt like on carnival was the volumn of the pool music. I did vista since covid and b2b breeze so 3 since covid.
  8. Not cheaper for me. Carnival is hundreds more for me out of Galveston. I get D+ and solo discount on rcl. I dont get casino offers. I think it's a myth people say carnival is cheaper. Used to be cheaper... though I dont book the shorter cruises hardly ever on either line. If carnival was cheaper I'd have more than the one booked. I'm solo and carnival gives me no discount but rcl does.
  9. Yes any place except the stand alone Starbucks. Maybe because the other places say Starbucks brand they are confused.
  10. I'm 3 pts from diamond on carnival. I have one journey cruise booked 14 days. Usually journey cruises have some throwback like late night buffet or something like the olden days or a speaker. Lunch and pizza better on carnival, but I used to like rhe dinner menu better on rcl. Havent had the new rcl menu next week. Try the white pizza, their pizza is made from scratch. Their steak restaurant I could still order surf and turf. Lobster included gone from choose, it's a upcharge on rcl. Lobster rolls on the fresh fish market good.
  11. The blog I read said this same ship also was oversold last dec. 2nd time for this ship. I can see them targeting locals as it would be easier to do the 6 day if you werent flying. .. but rcl works in mysterious ways. I checked cruisefare for wonder out of port Canaveral and just the cruisefare started over 2k before taxes and fees .. and up. Couldnt book in my time frame under 2k starting prices.
  12. I think we had 183 pinnacles my first week last dec. Saw a lot of gold pins.
  13. I dont eat pasta. I plan on ordering thr filet.
  14. Then dont take it. I think for me a full refund for a high priced new ship, a free cruise and obc I'd be tempted. Offer seems very good to me. Wish oasis got it.
  15. Dont pin your hopes on the outside part of the Havana bar. I tried twice and a long wait to try a shot of cuban coffee. The bar tenders ignore the outside folks on my cruise.
  16. There are multiple recent threads about the high prices. The americans are also complaining.
  17. This was last dec and we complained but the diamond lounge ambassador said she had to do 5 pm as it was fleetwide. Problem was I had dinner also at 5 so never had the snacks, though I hung around once to see them and they looked really good.
  18. You can use your card and always gain entry. It will be open for snacks at 5 pm.
  19. I think he said he was within 90 days, so he would lose more than $100. This must be a last minute price to fill the ship. OP I dont think rcl gives obc or price drops after final payment .. period.
  20. I pushed pts last year to reach 340 where solo on rcl gets a 25% discount. I've cruised alone a lot. If you book for 2 it's a gty if its $300 less. If you cancel the 2nd pax the cabin could get refared. @Ourusualbeachwould know if you can cancel. My caveat is if you book 2 pax, you dont get the extra solo pt. My ta has group rates that match or are less than the gty price. Maybe try a ta. Ask around the diamond lounge or some place on your next cruise. I dont fear for safety.
  21. You dont have to take the offer. I'd sure be tempted if it was oasis which I'm on. I'd take the 6 day and a extra day in miami or ft Lauderdale. Not sure which categories are oversold. It said they are getting the offer not all.
  22. I was reading 3 options. Explorer 6 day wow. Full refund, plus $300 plus the difference in fares. Of course 2 other dates and a refund. I'm on oasis next sunday so noticed it. Too bad it's not us. Was a bit more expensive than usual for me this spring break. A full refund would be nice. Here is the wording to switch to the 6 day. I dont see this posted. Forgive me if I am blind. " Sail on a Different Ship The first option is to transfer the Wonder of the Seas booking to Explorer of the Seas instead, sailing from PortMiami on March 12 for a 6-night cruise rather than a 7-night cruise. This option will also include a 100% refund of the Wonder of the Seas fare, as well as a $300 onboard credit to enjoy Explorer of the Seas. If the Explorer of the Seas fare is lower than the fare paid for Wonder of the Seas, guests will also receive a refund for the price difference, returned to their original form of payment. Guests must still pay taxes, port fees, and gratuities for the new cruise."
  23. I didnt plan on selling the florida condo. They arent making more oceanfront and it will hold its value. I have it rented out sept to sept which I would probably renew this year. I'd sell this house not the florida condo. I inherited a pretty large sum, and my sister got a very nice house. I'm just thinking I might want something at least equal and larger. Lots to decide. .. but had no plans to sell it.
